I have galaxy mini with custom rom,and I want to change that rom now.If I use cwm to flash mini,do I have to be careful about kernel?Or should I just pick one rom,ANY ROM,paste to SD and flash it like the one before(wipe stuff, install zip from sd)?

Yep, you can just flash ROMs meant for Mini. But use tutorial! It's quite boring to read questions like this...

Hi,
Just got my beautiful Note, installed Root and CWM using this method:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1329360
One thing is not totally clear in my head and I would you to clarify it because I don't want to make a mistake.
According to the rooting topic, I have a KKA kernel on my Note.
If I want to install a custom ROM, should I install a KKA ROM or can I install any custom ROM I want? For example XXLA6 or LA1 or anything else in ROM titles, so I'm not sure I can take any of these ROMs.
If anybody could guide me, it would be great.
Thanks for your help.

you can install whatever rom you want, because most (if not all) custom roms bring their "own" kernel with them (whatever kernel the dev choose for his build)!

So let's gooooooooooooooooooooooo
Thanks!
Hi guys, i have looked but cant find.
what i want do try and achieve is to pull the rom from my ace with all installed apps/settings that i have installed.
basicly i have AOSP Beta 1 over XWKS2 stock,
launcherpro
cyanogenmod setings
cm7.x gps patch
i have a backup made via cwm5 but this is just a retore folder.
i would like to create a fully flashable rom of my current rom/settings/patches.that can be used via Odin.
the purpose of this is so i can have my rom backed up and flashable, just like a stock rom, and so i can try other roms without having to flash back to stock then flash AOSP and then flash patches and cyanogenmod setting, wich is a bit of a nightmare "trying new roms on daily basis and having to flash back due to bugs or poor performance"
if someone can help me create a flashable backup in a noob friendly way i would be very greatfull.
i love my ace as it is at the moment, its perfect for me. it would just be nice if i could flash back to my custom rom in 1 flash rather than many + having to add all patches after,
this would be amazing if anyone can help.
Yes I'm still interesting to do that also from my S5830i
Odin is only for stock roms. You cant flash custom roms using Odin.

You don't seem to be rooted and seem to be on a LA4 rom which is not directly rootable.
Follow this guide step by step to downgrade first and then root your rom.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997
Once you have root and CWM installed you can flash different roms.
Yeah you can flash the ICS repack via Mobile Odin Pro
Yeah before flashing a ICS rom you are advised to flash the ICS repack first.
You can flash ICS repack from the CF kernel or any other custom kernel but not with the stock kernel.
If you need to go to gingerbread you can download the GB rom and flash it in recovery. (before doing so just make sure of the kernel first...in some ICS roms the default kernel (recovery too) will not allow zips to be flashed...so you need to flash a different kernel (recovery too) before flashing a GB rom )
thank you so much.
as i stated this phone was traded to me
i do believe it is rooted tho...one way im sure of this is just i have SU access to everything also i have the CWM app installed on the phone. in the app it says the kernel is CF-ROOT 5.0
idk which kernel that is or if i have to change it to do anything else?
If you need to go to gingerbread you can download the GB rom and flash it in recovery. (before doing so just make sure of the kernel first...in some ICS roms the default kernel (recovery too) will not allow zips to be flashed...so you need to flash a different kernel (recovery too) before flashing a GB rom )
on this just so i know!
once i use the repack i can still flash GB roms without having to do some other type of repack? and are all CF root kernels flashable to any rom?
Well then you are good to go. You can choose the rom you want to go for. Read the instructions there (in the thread of that rom).....they will advise you to flash the ICS repack first so do that and flash their rom after wiping and clearing caches and dalvik.
Have a great roming day (lol i just made that up)
Cheers!! Hit thanks if it helped

Yeh you can use any GB roms. No repack of any other kind is required to revert to GB.
Just some change of kernels.
Thank you thank you and hit button couple times for you!!
Last question!!!
Any threads or anything that has a liat of all available roms and brief description? Ive seen them on other forums. This forum is overwhelming!

Here you go - http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1349
Just make sure you are choosing the correct rom thread. Read carefully some roms will say its ICS themed...so those are still GB roms with ICS theme-ing over them.

1. Yes, you can use it as long as you want
2. Which rom are you using?
3. You need to run android 2.3.x at least, because you need CWM 5.x.x.x to flash the latest custom roms
Here a useful thread where you'll find llots of info (How to root, install CWM 5.0.2.6 Fixed, flash a stock rom via Odin...and lots of tips )
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2313363
can you please kindly tell me which rom has a bugless? coz i have tried reading some of the custom roms even outside the forum ., some roms has a bug like camera ,wifi etc. all i need is a custom rom which is based on a stock rom but have changes or tweaks like removed the useless apps. im running on GB 2.3.4 and i want it to upgrade it to higher version but a stock rom with a tweak, because nothing beats a stock rom i guess ^^
Hello,
is it possible for me to "download" the rom from my working galaxy mini so I can install on my broken one?
I already have some experience with odin and know a bit how it works.
Sorry for my bad English, I'm from Belgium.

You mean that is it possible to download a stock ROM using your Mini? Of course you can.
But with better browser such as Opera Mini / UCMini & you'll need a PC to flash stock ROM
But if your broken phone able to boot CWM Recovery then you don't have to flash stock ROM
Flash any other custom ROMs from xda instead :good:
