Just wondering if you ever get this problem solves. I am experiencing similar problem. I recently rooted my nexus one with modaco rom and my navigation system voice guidance is not working. In the notification bar, it shows gray color. The voice will not talk but the map shows. It says "Searching for GPS" at the bottom screen. It gives all route directions and maps though.
Please where can I go to activate the voice guidance or what exactly do I need to do to correct this?
Thanks
Hi, has someone try this app to hide the bottom bar?
http://ppareit.github.com/HideBar/
It hides the bar, but can't get it back by Swyping up! I'm on Tiamat 221

Tried it and had to reboot. Luckily, I made sure to uncheck Start at Boot.
Been looking for one of these that actually works.
Whats wrong with TabletBar Hider? https://market.android.com/details?id=com.tlalexander.tabletbarhider&feature=search_result
Looks like Honeybar isn't on the market anymore.
I have a link for HoneyBar but I am not sure if it is warez or not. It's from *OK I gues it is warez, cause there are other paid apps' APKs there*
Since the app isn't on the market anymore though I guess I could upload it here, but I need a confirmation from a mod
It's a bit cumbersome to have to rotate the tablet just to get out of it, and I keep getting stuck in an app having to reboot..
A simple corner long press our swipe would remedy this. Dunno why this can't be added.
Use virtual bar to get outa apps instead of reboot. And Honeybar is the one to get, if you can find it..
I think Google has removed Honeybar from the Android Market. I guess removing an essential UI element of Honeycomb is not what Google wants users to do.
Thanks all for your advice... with just a quick google search found honeybar
I can't find it :-/

I've been looking around on the web for a solution. I had this problem when I flashed my nook color a month ago. The girlfriend's got hers now, and we are running into the problem of no status bar. No home or back buttons or anything. And the Market doesn't work... I remember I installed a different version of cm7 on mine, after I had this problem the first time. I found a page talking about it...now I cannot find that page. Mine says 7.1.0 encore and works, as does hers...but it doesn't work...So...Hm.
Pardon my noobergy...but... Could I get a hand here? haha.
There's an app on the market called Status Bar Restarter.
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.khanning.statusbarrestarter&hl=en
Two comments say that it works with CM7.
For the market, try going to settings/manage apps/market and clearing the cache. You can also try uninstalling the market update and letting it update again. If all else fails, you could reflash CM7. (Or maybe just gapps - the market is in there.)

We cannot use the market mate :[ , both it and the status bar just instantly crash, or Force close I think it's called. I was told before to use a different version of 7.1.0 encore. But I cannot find that thread anymore.
Have you heard of this? Or am I talking nonsense haha
Hey there. you don't have to open the market to go to settings, click "manage apps," click "market" and clear the cache and maybe uninstall the update.
If you can't get to the settings, you can make a shortcut by long pressing on the launcher and selecting activities (I think) and choosing app drawer (If I remember correctly) and you get the icon with four squares in it.
The market link was for when you got the market working, obviously And you didn't say that the status bar was FCing, just that there was none. In that case, the app probably won't help, anyway.
Like I said before, last resort is to reflash. (Either full or gapps.) hth

Btw, you might try MiRaGe's build. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1344873. The changelog mentions your statusbar problem as fixed. And I'm guessing that reflashing would fix the market problem, anyway...
There are a bunch of alternate builds you could try, too. I'm assuming you are using the official CM7 now, since you didn't say.

Been looking for a solution for my Status Bar disappearing. The comments say that it works for Nook Color, so I am very hopeful!! Thanks for pointing us to Status Bar Restarter
Hi,
I just flashed the LANIGHT v4.2 DATADATA ROM from the Captivate Android development thread, and everything is working great, but I can't figure out how to work Google Now. I did a search on the thread and it said the search button is mapped to Google Now, but when I press the search button, nothing happens. No search or Google now or anything pops up.
I hope I'm posting this in the right section. If anybody can help me out that would be great. Thank you very much.
I'm using slimbean 2.4 and the button mapping has been changed to holding the menu button. Try that and see if that works.

Hey thanks for the reply, but it seems it still doesn't work. I'm not sure if the LANIGHT version uses that mapping. Is there supposed to be an app called Google Now if I go into the settings and apps menu? My ROM seems pretty basic, I don't even have any sounds to choose from.
Do you have Google Search installed? I don't think that it is included in the rom. If not head over to the play store and download it. Let me know if that helped?

Install google search from market
No, I don't have Google Search installed. I was wondering why there was no search bar in my Home screen. I hope this will work, I'll try it now, thanks for the advice!

Got a strange issue on my Opti 4X
When i go into Play Store and try and access the 'my apps' section I get a
'Unfortunatley Google Play Store has stopped' message
I have reset my phone, uninstalled play store back to default so it could update itself, cleared the cache.
LG have advised me to speak to Google but if I can avoid that I will
Im running the stock rom.

Factory reset is my advice before that BACKUP all your data (contacts, pictures, sms etc..)
But I have done a factory reset and that google play store my apps issie still happens.
Its only on my Opti 4x
When I try on my Galaxy S running CM11 theres no problem?
Is it time to ditch stock?

I have the same problem and have read online that others have it too.
One work-around is instead of clicking on the button, swipe left to right, that will show the same menu as the button without crashing the app.
Yes, i have the same issue Google Play; regardless of what function it is presenting at the time (back, menu etc) the softkey in the top left corner of the Play screen causes the app to crash. It is very frustrating to say the least but as I see it the only viable solution seems to be to swipe left and right as mentioned above and wait for the next update from Google as it appears to be very much a bug in the app rather than any problem with the phone itself. I have a Nexus 7 also so I will check sometime and see if there are any issues with that (I use the Nexus mostly as an alarm clock and e-reader so it does not go online much therefore there will be just about every app to update including Google Play before I can report back).
I know my reply does not offer anything new or provide much help but at least you know that it is not caused by the phone and you can avoid wasting more time with backups, restores and factory resets etc.
Ok peoples, I have found this elsewhere in the XDA forums
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/modules/lg-optimus-jelly-bean-play-store-fix-t2852146
I will give it a go at some point over the weekend and let you know if it makes any difference
I installed the Xposed module in the above post and hey presto, Google Play doesn't crash out when you press the top left soft key
