Hey guys, I don't know how much available storage I had prior, however it was easily a GB free at LEAST as I put most of my media on my external sd-card.
I went to make a cwm backup before I flashed the latest CM nightly but stupidly forgot to tell it to backup to external storage.
Lo and behold, the backup failed and when I rebooted the phone I got notifications telling me that my storage is very low.
http://imgur.com/zjMiyGc - this screenshot shows that despite there being around 1/4 memory free (or otherwise uncategorised), I only have 229MB available.
I've looked in the clockworkmod folder and there's nothing there, but I can't figure out where all this memory has been taken up from?!
Is there any way I can locate the files/folder taking up the most storage on my device or has anyone encountered this issue before and know a fix?
I can't even download any new apps atm as they won't be installed due to low memory
are you using 4.2?
clear unused backup data from recovery.
also, disk usage from Play

Hi all!! i need to check something, im using a GT-I9000, and need to know what is the default internal phone storage for my phone.... in settings>SD card and phone storage>Internal phone storage - available space shows 1.84GB... is this the default amount?
reason for asking- did a lot of flashing and ran into some problems so had to do a fresh install of my original stock rom.
btw, i have installed android system info from market and it says under memory that for internal phone storage, max is 1.87GB. if i remember correctly, when i first bought the phone, the amount in settings >> was 1.87GB too. have i lost about 0.03GB? or is this normal?
Guys...plz help me here... Now my internal phone storage has just gone down to 1.83GB... And im experiencing strange vibrations! Some app or program is eating my my phones memory i think

HI, first of all thank you for a great forum that i have visited a lot of times the last 5 years.
I have one major problem with my samsung galaxy note. I can't run gallery because then i get 'not enough memory, Delete some items'.
If I start camera and then click on one image gallery starts without any problems.
Storage on my note:
SD Card: Available 11,40 GB
USB storage: 0
System memory: 1,47 GB
Please tell me how to fix this. I have tried a few memory optimizer apps from the marked but nothing...
Regards
Noeinstein
After 2-3 days of experimenting and studying loads of internet posts I finally managed to solve this problem:
Your Gallery needs space on ur internal SD-Card to work, even if you store all ur videos and photos on the external SD-Card. And as you posted there is 0 kB Space on your USB-Storage and thats the point.
Go to Menu - Own Files and find the largest Files and Folders. Now you have to find out, which Files may be deleted. For example I deleted Game Folders that took up to 0.5 GB and also deleted some old BackUp Files of CWM.
Be careful with this deleting and watch out not to delete any system relevant files!
I did not deleted them but moved them to my external SD-Card so I could move them back if my Android would be messed up afterwards.
I hope this helped you and others!
as said it more than likely because you have no free space on your internal memory, free some up and im sure it will start working
Hi everyone,
I have issued the same problem newly on these days with my SGN. But on the contrary, when I look at my storage levels:
Storage Name: Used / Total
System storage: 0.92GB / 1.97GB
USB storage: 1.42GB/11.07GB
SD card: 8.00GB/14.89GB
I'm using Android version 4.1.2 with N7000XLSA Baseband and the device is rooted. I have deleted some files to free up more space in internal SD (which is denoted as sdcard0 in JB) but it seems that it didnt work out, because the problem continues. Am I doing smthg wrong or is there another solution or workaround for this?
Regards,
Same problem here
I have same problem. Almost same memory usage. I mean lots of megabytes exist on every unit (phone, phone sd, ex t sd)
But cannot open gallery, s note, etc with same "not enough memory" message.
N7000/4.0.4
Just clear cache from in gallery app from settings>application and reboot. Also you need some minimum space in your internal sd storage. Also do not install unnecessary apps. Try to uninstall the apps that you don't use. Some apps tend to use more ram & storage.
Hi,
I am using latest JB FW, Timin8r rom. I was on stock kernel.
Last night i rebooted my phone and got the grey triangle. I left the phone over night and it was OK in the morning.
However, I got a message that internal storage was 75% full and a popup appeared asking me to transfer data to my ext card. However, all options said 1 file and 0% and the transfer button was greyed out so i pressed cancel
An hour ago I flashed the new stock kernel with recovery and thats when i noticed that my file structure had changed, Inow have
ext-card
sdcard
sdcard1
(Sdcard 1 is actually the ext-card)
However, from the sdcard (Internal storage) I have lost all the folders from Android to Notifications (Listed in alphabetical order). What is left is only a few MB but storage on the phone reports that there is 10Gb still in use. So I think the data is still there just not visible in root explorer or on the PC when I mount phone.
I am going to leave the phone alone whilst I am at work as it may need to settle, but has anyone else got any ideas?
Hay man, I have a similar issue, though not as bad, I rebooted and got the gray triangle, I waited and shows low storage. Curious why, I looked in explorer it showed the same storage folders you have.
Sdcard
Sdcard1
Ext-sdcard
Though the only problem is sdcard and ext-sdcard both show the contents of what my ext-sdcard actually shows which is strange. Seems to have duplicated itself in another folder...
I might try and delete one and see what happens.
As for your problem, you could try and flash a stock ICS to reset the file structure?

The ext-card has not been dupicated its just two seperate paths to get to the same place.
My main concern is the missing folders in the sdcard (Internal) They still appear to be there as there is a discrepency of 10 gb between what is reported to being used and what I can actuall see.
These include my recovery backups and lots of photos so I dont want to format yet.
I have a copy of some backups on my pc at home so when i get home I can restore and check.
Same issue

I had them backed up so I just formatted the card. sorry i cant be more help
So just a quick run down of the what happened. I am rooted with safestrap. I had the slimkat rom installed and I have a nandroid backup of my slimkat rom and stock rom.
I tried to use the app called internal to external to swap my internal and external sd so I would have more room (stupid because I didn't know what I was doing). First I copied all the files from my internal storage to the external sd per instructions including the safestrap files(Probably part of my problem). Then for those familiar with the app I selected the sdcard and sdcard-ext for the first two options and sys/dev/block/179:97 for the third option where it says select the sdcard at the system level. For the mount option I had unmask=0000.
Anyway I hit the swap button and not much changed. I checked storage and it showed that the internal storage was clear but it still only said 2gb were available. I then rebooted and it was stuck in a boot loop. Its pretty messed up no but with much playing I can still sometimes get into safestrap, but when I look in the rom slots it says there is 0 space available internal. I have tried to do wipes but it says it can't wipe cache. Right now it is active under slot 1 but if I try to activate any others it crashes. I tried to restore my nandroid but it fails. I can still move files in file manager though.
Is there anything I can do that might help? And would restoring with rsd lite even help at this point? Thanks for any ideas!
Ok so it a crazy turn of events it actually booted to stock jb and is still rooted but it is still pretty messed up. In files it says that the internal has 0 free space but I can still open it and see its files. It won't save pictures because it says no space is available. See pictures. I am going to try to leave it on so it might be a little easier to work on the files. Is there a way to unflip what ever I flipped with that app?
So with it booted back up I installed the external to internal app again and played with it some more. At first I had though I had made it worse because it said the SD card was the internal and the external. But I rebooted it and after a series of wipes and restore attemps I was able to restore my stock and slimkat backups. Everything looks good except I has a flashboot error every time I reboot but I think I might have found the a way to fix that also. Thank you Lord!
Hey guys, I realise that I may not be on the correct forum for this and for that i apologise, however I am quite new to this website and don't know my way around.
Anyway, I have recently backed up my whole phone storage to SD card using CWM recovery as there was no option to backup to an internal device. I wanted to take the backup and move it to my computer but I have a HTC One m7 which has no SD card. This isn't normally a problem for me because all the files seem to show up on the internal storage when i look on my computer anyway however despite searching through all of the folders, I simply cant find. The backup is 5gb in total and I know that it has been made sucessfully because my available storage has decreased by 5GB but it simply can't be found. Even when i look at the file manager on my phone I can't see it. Even if I can't move it to my PC I atleast want to be able to delete it, will factory resetting the device remove root access aswell as everything else and will I have to start all over again to delete this hefty 5GB backup?
Thanks for reading
