Have had the phone for a week and loving it, but trying to get the most out of the battery life. Does anyone know when power saver mode activates? I've currently got it switched on (icon is always there) so does that mean when the icon is showing it is active? Or will it activate at a certain percent such as 30%, 15% etc?
Thanks!
Settings > Power > Power saver should give you those options, to set a critical percentage
I think default is like 30%
Can't seem to find anywhere in the settings where it says that

If you turn on power save it's on straight away and stays on till you turn it off
Makes sense, thanks!
Although I have seen it appear automatically before when it was around 25%

I set Custom Power Saving Mode auto on when my battery dropped under 20%. However, once it on, I found that if I charged the battery back to 21%-100%, the custom power saving mode is still on and I have to manually switched off and then like those brightness and screen sleep mode time I have to change it manually as well. Is this normal?
No one knows?

that happened to me as well !! It doesnt restore your previous settings when the profile is no longer in use !!
another useless feature from samsung i guess ! wonder what their software engineers do...
So, I guess the auto function is uselss. Manually is better?
I've been noticing this problem with my vivid since I bought it 4 days ago. If I havent used it in a hour or so and I try to connect to any Internet site it fails with no connection.
The 4G indicator is on, but no curved lines showing activity. I assume it is in idle, but will not come out.
The workaround I am currently using is disable and re-enable 4G data.
Does this sound normal? Has anyone else noticed this? While searching I found a few related posts but most were from a few years ago.
Usage so far has been in San Jose (No LTE yet), signal shows a few bars, over (-100 db).
Try going to Settings - Power, and make sure power efficiency, power saver, and sleep mode boxes are unchecked. This should fix the issue but you may see a slight decrease in battery life.

Power Efficiency was already off
Power Saver was set to turn on at 10%
I just disabled sleep mode. That might have been it. Only time will tell.
Any idea what the default idle time is for sleep mode to be engaged? and what exactly happens in sleep mode?
With sleep mode enabled, network connections are disabled when the screen is off. I've noticed the network connections also don't appear to reconnect once you turn your screen back on for some reason unfortunately.

I am running ARHD 7.3 currently and right now these are the apps I have running in the background :
Adblock
SetCPU : When I turn my screen off, it will lower my CPU to the lowest.
Go power Master : Turns off my Wifi and Data when my screen is off ( currently not using this feature )
Those are the apps I have running in the background to try and save some energy.
What other settings or apps could you guys recommend?
I feel like my phone is losing battery too quick. I would have my phone out and going through the settings and learn more about the phone (Im new to Android the battery would go down 1% every 2 minute or so.
My iPhone 4S seems to last longer. But then again, my iPhone 4s is only on 3G while my HTC1 is on 4G.
there is the HTC power saver... it does his job well

I am having the same problem with my "One" (AT&T Version), but only after I restored a Dev Edition Nandroid backup.
Can you verify if your LED turns green after a full charge?
Mine just goes dim red after full charge instead of green?

I don't remember where I heard this from but, someone said that it's not good to use HTC power saver along with other power saver apps?
Is that correct?
Can HTC power saver alone be good enough to save battery?

Well when the phone is off the LED can't be on....
But when I'm in recovery, there is no LED
I was just wondering that is the difference between the two. The description seems to be the same in both but they are located in 2 difference places. Sleep Mode under Power in settings and Data Connection under Power Saver. If both are turned on is there any conflict or whatnot?

The power saver options turns off your data connection as soon as the screen is off then reconnects it when the screen is on. The one under power waits until your phone has been inactive for a while (6+ hours in my experience) and turns then turns the connection off. They won't conflict because enabling the one under power saver will naturally make the other one redundant.

Oh great! Thanks for the explanation. Okay so let's say power saver turns off your data when your screen is off, what happens to messaging services like what's app, viber and Facebook chat? I won't be notified of any of these when the screen is turned off on power saver mode?

Hi,
My Screen Dims on low battery, even when Power saver is turned off. This behaviour shows since update to 4.1.
The integrated Power Saver is set to :
Turn Power saver on : at 50% battery level
Brightness : 50% Brigtness
Powersaver : OFF
But still when 5% Battery is reached, the screen goes totally dark.
So dark I cannot read it most of the time. I have to use my hand to cover for shadow, set the brightness up, and then I can use my phone again. This makes toe phone unusable when battery is low.
I hate this behaviour and would like to disable this.
How do I disable it ?
As mentioned, this was not the case with Android 4.0.3 (stock, rooted), it happens since I updated to 4.1.2 (stock, rooted)
The intuitive place to look ws the power saver, but those settings seem not to change anything.
I have searched the net and these forums, but could not find a place where to correct this settings.
I would like the screen to remain it's last setting, not dim at all.
Please help.
You didn't set the brightness to auto, did you? Because this is maybe the cause of dimming. I'm not sure but that's my first thought.

Nope, tried both, auto and non-auto, in both cases when the 5% battery warning comes, screen is set to lowest possible level automatically, even in bright sunlight outside. In winter maybe, but in summer it suxx. Some automatic adjustment according to ambient light -might- be ok, but I would prefer that the backlight level is not changed at all.
Are you on stock? Or any custom rom?
I think you can maybe change this setting in build.prop or smth similar,
but I'm not that good when it comes to this.
Sent from my LG-P880
As I said in the first post, I use stock rom.
I have now looked through build.prop file. There is a " #Backlight " section, in there is some " ro.lge.lcd_default_brightness=146 " entry. I will change it and see what happens when I hit 5% battery. But since there is no other setting (like when battery below 5%) this does not look very promising..
Does your P880 show the same behaviour ?
It actually did the same when I was on stock (now I'm on WerewolfJB) but it didn't bother me back then (almost never got my phone below 5% battery.
And because I'm not on stock I can not look for the right line in build.prop or other system config files.

So there is no "OFF" in the powersaver, it defaults to some weird settings when switched "OFF" ?
I will try that too.
Found solution here:

^works!
but for me after i lock the screen and un-lock im back at screen min, i had to re-open rootdim each time and set it. even the "lock" feature doesnt seem to overthrow the system 5% batt life force dim. annoying but at least rootdim works, even if i do have to open it each time
disable low battery dim

thanks the root dim it does work, you have no idea how long i search for this.Funny thing i came across this root app like 5 or 6 times and didn't think it would work cause i have lux dim the other root app and that one does bring the display back to 100 percent bright who would thought that the fix was this simple and yes like you say every time you lock the device it brings you back to dim mode but if you open the app and bring the slider all the way up it stays like that at 100 brightness, done that on my rooted galaxy s4 from cricket it works yey.
