Running completely stock C6602 and after a successful backup I can't get the restore to actually restore all the third party apps. Anyone else had that issue? It takes a while restoring ny videos and pics then the app just closes and I am missing 5-6 apps.

Haven't tried it myself. But you can always re-flash the ROM you have using the flashtool and still keep the data and settings.

I realize that but that's not what I am trying to do. Want to be able to restore apps/data after a factory reset or wipe.

I have the C6506 and had the same issue. If I downloaded the app that was missing from the market than backup & restore would restore the app data for the app.
When I did a back up with PC companion it wouldn't restore any of the apps. I had to use Google back up to restore the apps and than the stupid back up software restored the app data.

When you flash it with Flashtool, unselect wipe DATA, anyway you can backup your phone with your google profile, that will auto redownload all your apps.

Thanks for that.
I thought Google only backs up app data, but not the apps themselves? And the order of apps on my launcher would also get lost. I have yet to find a backup solution that really backs up everything, just like iTunes does....

I'm not sure that anything can do that, have you tried Titanium backup?

Wrong, also using Titanium means you have rooted your phone.
Hi,
I backed up my apps before factory resetting with Carbon. Only thing was I can't restore them anymore.. They're on my SD card and I really need that app data. I only read after that carbon doesn't work with Sony Xperia phones. Anyone has any suggestions or has made it work?
Thanks
Sean

restore your carbon backup on another phone, backup that phone with titanium, then restore the titanium backup to your z1.

When it's at 6% or when it reboots, can you identify which app is being restored?
i have xperia zr c5502 running on stock android 4.3 mea .after flashing either 4.1 or 4.2.2 using flashtool my phone continuosly reboots while it is in the boot animation but when i reflash a 4.3 rom it works again..i want to downgrade to 4.1 or 4.2.2 to regain root is there any way you can help me??
i want to downgrade according to Sijav method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2590174
for downgrading you have to erase the entire system. it's not like just updating. wiping datas is probably required too

do i need to wipe my data or cache or both and is there any way to preserve my data??
yeah, wiping cache may avoid conflicts. there are several ways to save datas, the most popular is titanium backup

Titanium Backup needs root, right ? Maybe with Sony PC Companion, depending on the data you want to save.

my apps and there datas because i dont want to reinstall all my apps again from zero point.
If your phone is backup with your google account, all the apps will be automatically installed after flashing. But you still need to backup the data of your apps if needed...
in settings > backup and reset you have the option to export datas to google servers. apps will downloaded again, as well as your contacts. be sure they are synchronised in settings > accounts > google, just in case...
I've never used pcc for saving so I can't help for this.

thanks llko i downgraded my phone successfully .the issue was i wasnt wiping my app data and cache and now i am on 4.3 and rooted yeeee..
So far I've gotten 3-4 unexpected reboots on the new 4.4 firmware. Using different apps and the phone suddenly stops responding. Nothing works, not even the hardware buttons. Then after some seconds the phone just reboots.
Anyone else experiencing this?

I did. I had unlocked the bootloader and was running Cyanogenmod before. Did a complete wipe (data + cache) then re-locked the bootloader in order to let Sony PC Companion "repair" the phone by doing a complete reset.
If this keeps up I'll go back to Cyanogenmod.
Did you restore apps using titanium backup or any other app?

No, setup everything from scratch again.
Hmm... Strange then. Maybe it's something else that's causing this problem.
