I really want this phone so bad. I'm on T- mobile paying $75 for completely unlimited everything. My question is does it make sense for me to buy it online or through T-Mobile? I really don't understand their new policy on buying new phones through them. Does anybody have experience buying phones through them with their new policy? Is it really cheaper?

You will pay $99 up front with your monthly payment becoming $95 a month.

tmobile has them in stock for this price or it was problematic to get one?
do I need a plan or I can buy just the phone?
T-Mobile doesn't sell it in this country as O2 have exclusivity over it for one month.
I wouldn't buy on contract anyway, it's a rip-off. PAYG is a rip-off too. The only price that is reasonable is the Play Store.

Same here. I got mine from T-Mobile for $530 and am selling my Galaxy Nexus too.
What about O2 stores?
I asked on Twitter and tmo said you can't buy it off contract online due to their low stock.

Just letting everyone know that I was able to pick up a Nexus 4 at a t- mobile retail store. At first they told me they were in stock but couldn't be sold yet. About 10 minutes later this story changed and they said they could sell it to me. Pricing is different than buying directly from Google but it is available.
This was in Raleigh North Carolina.

My local T-Mobile also has a few Nexus 4's in stock. I'm with AT&T though so I don't know if it has any T-Mobile bloatware on it or not.
Was the pricing full retail for TMO or Google?
$549 for the 16 GB Nexus 4 at my local T-Mobile.
Full retail unless you go with a "classic contract". But the classic contracts are inflated and cost more in the long run.
I have not found any bloatware.

I purchased one at the College Station, TX TMo store. It has zero bloatware. Also, it rooted just fine and is already running cm10.1. this is a pretty incredible phone.

There is no bloatware on the T-Mobile nexus 4. I have one and there is no T-Mobile crap on it.

Fore that much money, you could have bought a bnib nexus 4 on amazon and a charging stand or 3. Why would you pay that much?

Well I didn't buy it. Thats the price they told me when I called a couple hours ago.
$500 plus tax at 10% is about $550. Seems a little high... Maybe that's with activation?

If you're in Lansing, MI there are a few Nexus 4s in stock at the T-mobile at Frandor Plaza. Hit up Kerry, he'll hook you up. :good:
I just picked mine up from T-Mobile. New promotion at work demanded the capabilities of a smartphone for email. Works paying for it so might as well get the phone I want and not wait
I was at CES and knew from the rep there it would be in stores by the 16th. Thanks BTW from the dude with the white helmet. Managed to hold off on getting a smartphone since they came out. Yay me for being poor till now.
I tried the Droid DNA and hated Sense. This thing is beast.

Yeah they have it at a couple of stores here in San Antonio for $218 with a 2 year upgrade or new line/contract.
I was just going to buy it outright. But I decided to let my companies monthly cell expense pay for the phone via contract.

No bloatware. It is the same n4 that you can get from the play store.

My nexus 4 came from t-mobile store in Hawaii. No T-Mobile bloatware at all
Had to install the "T-Mobile my account" app manually.

I would think it would come out relatively close to the other two providers, has anyone got any ideas?
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using xda premium
I would think their released date would be 4/19 like Sprint and AT&T but Tmobile has the IPhone coming 4/12 and the GS4 5/1. Those are the two most popular phones most people want. HTC One may get put on the back burner, but the HTC trade in program to get the 100 Visa Card states you have to buy the HTC One by 4/26. Maybe T-Mobile will release the One on 4/19 with no promotion.

Ok so I own a GS3 on-contract with T-Mobile and by my understanding T-Mobile is selling the HTC One for $99 upfront with $20 per month for 2 years off-contract until the phone's paid off and my question is can I still purchase the phone at that price while already under contract and just have the $20 applied to my current bill? or does this offer only apply to new customers going on one of the new Simple Choice plans?

From my understanding, this offer seems to only be for customers on the Simple Choice Plan. Most likely, you won't be able to start this $99 initial/$20 per month deal until your current contract expires with T-Mobile. However, it would probably be best for you to call and ask customer service, if it's something you're interested in pursuing.
Thank you so much for the quick reply. I will try calling again. I just haven't had great experiences with T-Mobile's customer service but it doesn't hurt to try again.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda premium
I was told you could. You would just be paying off both phones instead of one
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using xda premium
Well if that's true then I probably will purchase the One for that $99. I can deal with a $120 (estimate) monthly bill.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda premium
I don't think it would work.
However you can just open another line for $50 and add the Htc One phone contract to that line. Quit your service next month and just continue to pay off the Htc One.
So your only extra cost would be the $50 for one month of service. You don't have to touch the other line.

That's not a bad idea except I would have to pay more for this to work cuz I would be terminating my current contract just to move over to that cheaper plan, unless I misunderstood. If so please do correct me.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda premium
To decide the best course of action it would helpful to know what contract you are currently on. Phone contract or plan contract? Classic plan, old value plan, or new value plan?
Sent from my SGH-T889 using Tapatalk 2
I am under the new value plan so I have unlimited everything. The reasons I wanna move to the Simple Choice plan are so I can pay less of what I pay now, hate contracts, and to get the HTC One at an affordable price and start working on my planned YouTube videos for the phone.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda premium
Simple choice is the new value plan. If your value plan carries a contract then it's the old value plan.
Sent from my SGH-T889 using Tapatalk 2
My mistake. Should have reread my post but sorry about the stupid predictive dictionary off my keyboard. What I meant to say was I am on the Unlimited Value Talk + Text plan or in other words the old value plan and want to move over to Simple Choice for the reasons I already mentioned.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda premium
In this case I don't know. You should be able to as you no longer have a contract when you switch plans. But I don't know if they will let you pay off 2 phones same time on the same account. ie $50 plan + $20 (galaxy s3 ) + $20 (htc one).
Sent from my SGH-T889 using Tapatalk 2
I agree. I should be able to. only problem is just facing a possible termination fee for switching to a no contract plan even though I'd still be with T-Mobile. I'll figure it out but thank you so much for taking the time to help me out.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda premium
iirc you are allow to switch to the no contract plan with no fees from the old value plan.
Under the old value plan you have a contract on the value plan and another contract on the phone (if you took EIP payment plan). They don't make you pay etf for the value plan anymore. But you are still on the hook to pay off the remaining balance of the EIP phone contract.
If you want the htc one you get another EIP contract. That's why I said I don't know if they will let you take on 2 EIP contracts on a single line.
Sent from my SGH-T889 using Tapatalk 2
What about if I bought my nexus 4 off contract but signed a contract to get a cheaper monthly plan? Currently I pay 30 for my plan (family plan my line). I don't pay for a phone but I'd be willing to pay 20 more for the one. Anyone know if that would work?
Sent from my Nexus 4
*UPDATE* Only 1 EIP per plan so if I wanted to purchase either the GS4 or HTC One for $99 off-contract I'd have to pay my remaining EIP balance of my current phone in order to start up a new one with one of these devices or any future devices offering the same deal.

This is my current quandary, figure I can sell my Nexus 4 and pay off EIP balance and buy One and still profit!!

I'm coming from at&t to Verizon. I just ordered a g2 on the Verizon edge plan. I'm the type that likes to switch phones yearly..so I'm hoping this plan isn't riddled with hidden BS. Anyone care to elaborate on the pros/cons that may not be widely known about this plan?
Looking forward to Verizons strong coverage..thanks guys

You're paying about 88 more than a 2 year contract over those 12 months, and if you ever decide you don't want to upgrade you still have to end up paying the full retail of the phone.
not to mention you have to trade your phone back in whenever you do decide to upgrade, its kind of a bunk deal if you ever want to get out of service with them.
You do have to trade yout phone back in, but you only have you pay 50% of the phones retail value in order to upgrade.
I knew there would be some drawbacks...but we'll see. Thanks guys
