[Q] Help with Apo-K-lypse - Galaxy Ace S5830 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I wanted to try out a ROM on my Samsung Galaxy Ace so I opted for Apo-K-lypse by Sampj75, link below.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2154567&nocache=1
So I followed this guide on XDA: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1034145
I first rooted the phone using Universal_gb_root_v25.zip (I checked to make sure the phone was rooted)
I than installed CWM.
Finally I put the Apo-K-lyps.zip into the phone booted into CWM, did Wipe Data/Factory Reset and installed the Apo-K-lypse ROM by choosing from SD card than rebooted the phone.
The problem: The phone boots up but gets stuck on, "A N D R O I D." I've tried reinstalling the ROM but no luck, any help will be appreciated.
Thanks.

Please can someone help me any advice will be useful, even if you know what the problem is that will do .

What is your current version of android .. 2.1.1 ..??
If the installation is done properly redone Wipe Data / Factory ..
Otherwise ..
Flash KPH with Odin..
The root is not necessary ..
Installs CWM this thread ..
Put Apo-K-lypse in your sdcard ..
Wipe Data / Factory ..
Install Zip From Sd Card
Choose Zip From Sd Card "† Apo-K-lypse † ®"
Rom .. Restart
Otherwise creates the partition on SD card (normally not compulsory)

Hi first of all thank you for the fast response but sadly I really needed a phone for work, so I just installed Unoffical Cooper CM 10.1 which is running fine.
BUT I'm still interested in testing out your version.
My previous Android Version was 2.3.3 when I originally tried your firmware, my new version is 4.22.
Baseband: S5830XWKP8.
When I originally installed it I followed your procedure below:
Put Apo-K-lypse in your sdcard ..
Wipe Data / Factory ..
Install Zip From Sd Card
Choose Zip From Sd Card "† Apo-K-lypse † ®"
Rom .. Restart
It didn't work so I tried it a couple of more times didn't work I also left phone on for 10 mins took out battery restarted etc...
I don't have a slot on my pc for memory card or a reader so I won't be able to partition my SD card but once I get one I'll try it again.
Thanks for your help.

It is advisable to flash the rom XXKPH by Odin after install this rom CM10
The partition is not a requirement ..
Otherwise ..
Reboot into CWM
Advance
Partition SD Card
choose 512M
And 0M Swap
OK ..
Wipe Data / factory reset
restart
Sorry for the late reply..

which kernel can i falsh with jvu ? ???
i tried midnight kernel ... get the same result ,, stuck on boot screen
here, first step is root your phone again,
download the XXXJVU zip file
then download semaphore kernel
use odin3
do with the XXXJVU step (download mode)
after that
flash the semaphore kernel (download mode)
after that your phone will startup.
if there any problems like asking for a pin password, just type any password until you go with recovery mode, then wait for it.
then there you can install the gamerzrom using recovery mode
any gamerzrom version will do.
wipe dalvik cache, wipe cache partition, wipe data factory reset
then install zip from sd card
choose zip from sd card
then select the gamerzrom
then yes, after that it will install the gamerzrom
if any problem occurs, like there was a problem when you're transferring the gamerzrom zip from your pc to the sd card(device). like it was canceled. then try to open it on your computer, when it says some problem, try to move it again, or maybe there was a problem when you download the zip.
it looks like the zip file is corrupted, try maybe to redownload it

Gamer's rom help
Hey guys . I recently bought an I9000 and i want to install gamers rom. I don't know what to do. Can someone help me with instructions or a full tutorial from scratch ? I have gingerbread 2.3.4, baseband - I9000XXJVQ, kernel version - 2.6.35.7-I9000XFJV9-CL566044 [email protected] #2 and the built number is GINGERBREAD.XFJV9. Thank you.
9.0 theme sucks!
The best rom for gingerbread has an awful theme

files no found at SD card At recovery

I tried to flash doc's V8 ROM but after all the wipes when i choosed "Instal zip from sd card" I got the error that no file found, and when I tried to reboot the recovery he said can't mount sdCard ... what should I do???
please I searched and did'nt know what to do ....
Can you get into download mode? If so you would be best to install a stock samsung firmware using odin , then root and start again.
Did that, again after flashed stock and wipe before installing the rom when I tried to choose zip from sd card, the same thing happend... "no files found"... what should I do??
have you copied the file to your internal sdcard?
To the Sdcard... after flashing stock rom and putting semaphore kernel I have the ability to install zip from sdcard , but if I wanna change the rom I should wipe the factory + cache + dalvik + format system... after I do the factory wipe, I can't Install anything from sd card, I get the error that no files found... what to do?
Tried something..
I tried just install zip from sd card over the stock 2.3.6 , I installed the Doc's Rom , and it works, but I didn't wiped anything... Is it ok?
Should I act diffrently ???
If it`s all working i would just leave it as is...it is good to wipe but not always needed . check that your cwm is the latest version or reflash another version through the app to see if that resolves your zip files not showing up .
I can install now zip from SDCARD but I think that If I would do a full wipe I won't be able to do that..

[Q]Queries about flashing ROM

Hello I am newbie here.I know there is a thread for how to instal CWM recovery & how to flash custom roms, but I find that method very confusing . I have upgraded my phone to Gingerbead 2.3.6 using ODIN player (Build number:- DDKQ8). I have already rooted my phone using that zip file method. Now I want to install CWM recovery v5.0.2.6. Here are my questions.
1. Do I need to install CWM recovery v 4.0.0.9 first & then need to update it to 5.0.2.6 ? If so, how to do that?
2. After installing CWM, I want to backup my current OS,which is an official GB 2.3.6 update provided by Samsung for my country. How to backup it?
3.I still use 2GB sd card,so how much space is needed in my sd as well as internal memory while installing custom rom?
4.After installing new rom will my data stored in sd card (app backup files, music files, pictures etc.) get erased?
5.Please suggest me a good custom rom which has:- great battery backup, good interface, exciting features, fast response etc.)
Thanks in advance!
WellCome..
1) No, you can directly install 5.0.2.6..
2) In recovery You will get options for backup and restore..this will take the backup of your current rom and you can restore at any time through it..
3) No need to make any free space..if you are not using any ext partition..
4) Not At all..it wont touch your sd card data..
5) It depends on You,Which Rom you like..read their thread for more info of the rom..

pls help. galaxy mini struck at startup screen.

My galaxy mini got struck at "galaxy mini gt-s5570" logo that come after samsung and in not starting up:crying:. Pls help me.
These are the things i did.
1.I rooted my phone. had superuser access.
2.I installed CWM v5.0.2.7 as instructed in http://yagyagaire.blogspot.in/2011/09/installing-clock-work-mod-recovery-in.html#.UPZey_KD_Sk
3.Then i installed a custom rom CyanogenMod 10 Nightly. version---: cm-10-20121020-UNOFFICIAL-tass.zip. as instructed in http://yagyagaire.blogspot.in/2012/09/cyanogenmod-10-20120831-nightly-major-update-of-android-4.1.1-for-galaxy-mini-pop.html#.UPZey_KD_Sk
4.Then i do a nandroid backup.Up to now my cell is good and working very well.
5.The internal memory of my cell phone is very less so I feel its good to partition my sd card.
6.I did partition as instructed in http://yagyagaire.blogspot.in/2011/09/how-to-partition-sd-card-and-install.html#.UPZc5fKD_Sk
8.After partitioning my mobile started well but all my sd card data is gone. I had made a backup of all my data in sd card and I have nandroid backup also saved as a backup in my pc.
9.Then i flash darktremor as told by yagyagaire. My mobile rebooted twice as told by him. But in second reboot it struck at galaxy mini logo screen.
10.I remove battery and tried to power on again but same thing happened. But my CWM recovery is well and good. So i dried data wipe/reset option in the recovery and reboot, but no use.
Pls help me. I will be very gratefull for your help.
when you partition your SD card, please make sure that you have backup in computer of all your SD card data, coz new partitions are created in SD card so it's obvious that all data will be deleted once!!!
and plz don't root and install Roms from other sites (as you have mentioned) coz it's very risky.... from now onwards use only Xda
for your solution,
download any Rom from computer, put it in your SD card using any card reader!! then put it in phone, go to recovery, do data and cache wipe, go to mounts and storage, do format data and system, than go to install zip from SD card, choose that downloaded Rom and install, than reboot!!!
it will be fixed
Sent from my GT-S5670 using xda premium
@op
flash the rom again and after that try link2sd
you can copy a rom to your sdcard through mount sdcard option available in CWM recovery
@ 2nd poster
it is not and outside website it is a tutorial blog written by a xda member "yagya"

Never, ever format the system.
If you're on stock just do that:
1-Reboot in recovery
2-Choose Wipe data/factory reset
3-Flash cm rom
4-Flash gapps
5-Reboot
Done, that's it.
If you want to update cm roms (or any rom):
1-Reboot in recovery
2-Flash cm update
3-Choose Wipe cache & dalvik cache
4-Reboot
Done.
You don't need to mess up with anything more.
P.S. better use twrp 2.7 from novafusion, for better compatibility.

Thanks but it still doesn't work. I want to flash the rom but the rom file its in the external sd card and it says that there are no files found. And when i hook up the phone to my pc the phone is detected, however I can´t acess the sd card.
Maybe if there's a way for me to acess the ext. sd card and change the rom file for the internal memory it would work. Do you know how can i do this?

Euhm, it might be a weird idea, but you take your external SD-card, put it in your card reader, connect the card reader to your pc, and copy the zip to (let's say) the root of the SD-card
CWM should be fine, but I'm used to TWRP. You can find it on the novafusion website. (search novafusion TWRP)
If you can't boot into CWM or TWRP, or files still don't show up on the browsermodule in the recovery rom, you still have the possibility to flash your ROM using odin. Check the installation guide on novafusion, it gives you a link to all the files you need and a detailed description how to install your rom.
