Hi all,
I've spent the last few hours searching google and this forum, but to no avail. Any help would be appreciated.
I have a LG Optimus Black but don't have the box to know the specifications. I want to buy a T-mobile sim card for my phone, but can't figure out if it will support T-mobile's 1700/2100 3G network. According to GsmArena (and other sites) there is 2 versions of the P970 one with the 1900 Mhz band and one with the 1700 band, I don't know which one my phone is.
How can I know which band my phone supports? I have a model number, IMEI, and S/N. Is there any app or program that would be able to tell me what band my phone supports?
Thanks in advance.

yeah, by providing your IMEI and product code, they will know the specific specification.
I also have US T-mobile HTC Sensation, frequency works very well in my country (900/1800/2100)

I called up they claimed that since it's a international phone they don't know. Perhaps I'll try calling tomorrow LG in the UK.

I just called LG in the UK they also claim they don't know. This is getting kind of annoying. I want to know if I can buy a T-mobile sim card.
I have the LG P970 and with my t-mobile USA Sim, 3G does not work. It only uses the GSM Edge signal. It works fine with AT&T 3G.

So you have the 1900 Mhz version of the P970, since At&t's UMTS network uses 850/1900.
Humm just bring your phone to T-mobile booth or branch and test it

T-Mobile USA's 3G/4G(UMTS/HSPA+) AWS REQUIRES 1700mhz + 2100mhz combined. If your phone has only 1700mhz, it won't work (and no, it won't work "1/2"). You'll just get defaulted to EDGE speeds (which practically all GSM phones support)
the
P970 has HSDPA 900 / 1700 / 2100
and the P970H has HSDPA 900 / 1900 / 2100
so i think the original version would work...
Came back from the U.S and AT&T 3G works fine.
Hey guys!
I want to pre order the HTC one right now, it says it has 4g LTE; but im not sure, does LTE work everywhere now (multiple radios on board) or do the frequencies differ by regions

1.) the LTE Frequencies vary from country to country...
From HTC:
EU: 800/1800/2600 MHz
US (AT&T): 700/850/AWS/1900 MHz
US (TMO): 700/AWS MHz
US (Sprint): 1900 MHz
Asia: 1800/2600 Mhz

Now comes the great news.. as far as I know Rogers uses 2600 MHz . so EU Version from the UK WILL work!
99% confident
EDIT:
Maybe this Thread can be moved to Q/A
Rogers should have the phone next Friday....given that is when the pre-order offer ends
the one that available now, only has one band that matches rogers LTE band :2600
as far as i know and read from XperiaZ forum, (c6603 XperiaZ has almost same LTE band as ONE)
no one are able to get LTE.
if you need LTE. get it from your provider.

we tried everything possible can to test LTE
last hope wehave is flash the baseband when xperia zl came out.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2106818&page=40
anyhow
2600 is still not very realible (although i heard that one verison of Note2 that only got 2600 got LTE)
Alright so I guess I'll hold off. What band I'd missing exactly
So not 100%sure the uk version will work on rogers LTE??
how many version of htc one is there
i checked the htc uk n canada site
all the specs are the same
so ibm kind of confused
should i get that from uk or not
cuz its about 150$$$ different

Phone - HTC One unlocked developer edition 64GB
SIM - T-mobile Unlimited Data package
I had a Google Nexus S and never had problems with data connectivity in Manhattan, NYC. But with the HTC One, the network keeps switching between 3G, EDGE and HSPA. The result - very embarrassing data connectivity - browsing, news feed sync, podcasts, and such.
Has anyone else experienced this issue ? Is there a workaround ?
Thanks in advance for your replies.

Well surprise surprise...please get a TMobile version which has the AWS 1700 band for 3G/HSPA+ ... the developer edition doesn't have that band and you are got get bad reception/speed. If you are in 1900 refarmed market it will be ok but still that is not covering enough market.
People are trying flashing TMo radio to get the AWS 1700 band but i think it still doesn't work.
Developer edition is the same as the international edition. If the signal is week, it will fall back to the other speeds 3g. So yeah like kirdroid said get the tmo version for better compatibility

Been going back and forth between the Dev version and the Tmo one, looking like I'll stick with Tmo then.
However, think there's any chance flashing a new radio will eventually be ironed out?

Think there's a little misinformation there as the Dev Edition has the AWS 1700/2100 band... and definitely supports T-mobile's LTE bands.

Yes it has the LTE AWS bands but not the AWS 1700 HSPA+ bands to get the TMobile fast HSPA downloads, both are different. There is no misinformation ... lots of people get confused with the LTE bands. Below are the specs...the missing band is in the HSPA/WCDMA section, if it had the AWS 1700 band here then it was perfect.
HSPA/WCDMA: 850/1900/2100 MHz
GSM/GPRS/EDGE: 850/900/1800/1900 MHz
LTE: 700/850/AWS/1900 MHz (US)

The dev edition offered by HTC in the US has the below bands
HSPA/WCDMA: 850/1900/2100 MHz
GSM/GPRS/EDGE: 850/900/1800/1900 MHz
LTE: 700/850/AWS/1900 MHz (US)
I picked it up from the the HTC shopamerica page for HTC One Dev Edition
Kik, is right about it.
As you mentioned, I could wait for T-Mo LTE bands to be available in NYC or I could switch to ATT.

Yeah, stick with the T-mo version, but maybe you would want to check when T-mo rolls out LTE in your region. Definitely the storage 64GB is important as the HTC One does not have a SD slot.

It is sad to know that people in other countries have to settle for 32gb...... and that to when it is available because it is still coming soon in Middle east.

You have to take note that the "Developer Edition" does not support the LTE bands in Middle East & some (one) 3G band.
3G - UMTS/ HSPA:
Europe/ Middle East/ Africa: 900/1900/2100 MHz
Developer Edition: 850/1900/2100 MHz
4G - LTE:
Europe/ Middle East/ Africa: 800/1800/2600 MHz

Here in central NC I am getting around 5 Mbps download and around 1 Mbps upload. This is just from my home, I haven't taken the phone anywhere else yet. I hope to get a couple of test from other areas around my town today.

The Indian LTE is on band 40 across providers. LTE band 3 is also auctioned by government nut service yet to be started on that. Its a hardware radio issue and not something that will get corrected with software OTA.
Its limited to 3g use. I too have the US amazon version and its not possible to use it on 4G.
