Question about Google Now - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys, I have another question about the google now function. As told in another post, my girlfriend bought one week ago an htc one, while I have an htc sensation. Well, since she has the one, she uses google now, and 3 days ago I've seen something really strange. If I make a search with my sensation on google, then she finds my search on her google now...how it's possible? We have 2 gmail accounts, one eachself. If I search a phone number for a place on my phone, then she finds that search on her google now and indications...I really can't understand why it happens.

Stop looking for porn and she'll stop catching you!
I'd just unlink the email accounts from each phone and then sign back in on each phone to your own retrospective accounts.
Do you use either of the accounts in Chrome desktop browser? Do you sign into that?

If your Google account is also signed in her phone, then of course she'd get those nasty searches that you search for, too. That's what Google Now does, give related content in the form of cards based on your searches, and all your search history would be added in the Instant Suggestion when she searches for something because your Google account syncs your search history with her Google Now.

I'm using my phone to search and she is using her phone, each one with the own gmail account, and I've never done an access through chrome on pc. I have my pc and she has her own. Both we are using the stock browser, not chrome.

In that case I'd just try un-linking the email accounts and then resigning back in.

g mail or stock

hi just taken position of my brand new XL,i use g mail but have noticed the stock mail has got a better layout, how can i just use the stock and not have the 2 coming through any help please
If you have rooted your phone you can delete gmail using a root exploring app, by going to system/app and then deleting the .apk and rebooting the phone. That's how I did it. You can do it so you don't ever sync through gmail too and that stops it sending notifications but you will still receive the emails should you open the gmail app in error.
Not sure of any other ways.
ah thanks but not rooted yet
Set up gmail ad exchange account . Then in accounts and setting. Untick all sync boxes for.google account

How to stop Facebook photo sync

Apart from the obvious of not installing facebook in the first place. I have tried everything from changing the picture in contacts to clearing data in the app! I think its sense Facebook sync issue tbh, surely I'm not the only one?

Are you using the facebook camera? On the stock camera there is also an "upload" feature under settings, might want to check if that's the problem..
Yeah there is no way to stop the photo sync. If you so much as log in it'll replace all your pictures with Facebook photos and if your using third party messengers then you won't get pictures at all. Your best bet is to use friendcaster instead

Actually you can if it has not replaced your photos with facebook photos right after you sign on to facebook for the first time go to menu settings accounts and sync then go to the facebook account and uncheck all the sync boxs and it wont replace your photos also it will not put status updates next to the contacts you should be able to delete your facebook account under accounts and sync and start over with the above options I am talking about the phone menu not facebook

Thanks guys I was an old user of friendcaster premium so in the end I just got rid of book and reverted back to this. It has come a long way in the 6 months since I last used it. After my next rom update I will have a go @ the method in jerry's post. Thanks again for the help and input

[Q] Is there a way to restore deleted system file?

Hi everyone,
2 days ago I tried to update my aunts sensation xl and told her that it is better to update its ROM from 2.3.5 to 4.0.3.
So i created a google account in phone and added it in order to sync contacts....and after 2 hours, I thought that it has been synced.... but I was wrong.
After upgrading device to ICS, and adding the previous account that i made before upgrading, I was waiting for contacts to restore, but nothing happend....
I opened the gmail account on PC and saw that there was no contacts. So the only way for me to restore the contacts is to find a way to restore them from Phone device.
So,is there any software, either on phone or PC, to restore contacts from phone? or is there a way to have access to root folders and files of phone on PC to use a recovery program to restore "Contacts.db" file that was erased while flashing ICS?
I will appreciate any help from you guys to help me saving my reputation.....
Phone contacts do not show up in Gmail address book, search google for google contacts or google phonebook/addressbook. I forgot what its called, but its part of your google account.

I know where is contact link in gmail, I manage them on my own account, so the problem is not about gmail account, the only way is to recover them from my phone...
Any other suggestion?
Hi, I am facing the same problem
Have you found some kind of resolution?

Do you actually need a facebook account?

I have a family member on AT&T looking for a small-screen'd android device. This was my first thought, but she neither has nor wants a facebook account, and is not tech savvy at all. I also would not be able to help her set it up.
so the question is - how does setup go if you don't have a facebook account? do you just get dumped into stock android, or what?
(if someone can find a video of this that'd be amazing)
First thing the phone how's is ask you to sign into your Google account, like normal. Then it asks you to sign into Facebook, but you can hit the menu key, select home settings, and chose turn on Facebook home. At this point, you officially have a stock android experience.

Not sure if this will shock anyone, but I'm in the same situation, and would be unsurprised in there were quite a few people looking at this phone for their non-tech savy older relatives that don't have, nor desire, a facebook account.
This just became a top contendor for my grandmother, who, funny enough, got an HTC Status due to its small form factor and keyboard despite despising facebook.
EDIT: I guess I have another question along these lines. Is a facebook account required to utilize Chatheads for SMS? I tried using it on my own Galaxy Note for just SMS, and I cannot seem to get past the Messenger login screen without an FB login, or the create account page popping up.

Click to collapse
Yes, a Facebook account is required to use Chat Heads, which is built into the Facebook Messenger app. The phone still ships with the stock Android SMS app though, so you're not completely boned by not logging into Facebook.

[Q] HTC Watch App

Anyone had any luck with logging in with it?
I can't log in (i assume its just the same as my htc account), wont send a new password to my account, nor will it let me create an account because it says one is in use.
I had the same problem. Ended up logging in to my HTC account online, deleting it, then setting up from fresh through the phone.
Don't know why I couldn't get the original account to work though?

HTC have tweeted me to say it takes a while for it to come through. if it doesnt come through by tomorrow morning i guess its what i';ll have to do.
No email arrived at all, HTC_Uk twitter account told me to contact support. Support tried to resend email, that didn't work either, been escalated to a removal of HTC Watch account and to start all over again.
Exactly what happened to me. In the end took 5 days for the reset email to turn up, but had already deleted and set up new account 4 days before lol

where did you find the option to delete your account?
Found it,never mind! Account successfully re-created with exactly the same details, how odd.
