Ok so I placed an order with htc online for the dev edition one well when I placed the order it gave me an error saying that can't authorize my card so I call htc and tell them about the error they help me out over the phone and get everything fixed and they say my order is fine now and give me an order number well I get an email from htc telling me my order details and a link to track the progress of my order when I check it it tells me order canceled but on my back account it says that letstalk took the money out so idk what the hell is going on should I wait and see if my order status changes or should I call back and try to deal with them? Anyone else have these problems?
Nevermind I called htc and they sorted it out

So I lost all info on my SIM card. No MEID, carrier info, phone number...everything. I kept getting a "no Sim card" "cannot connect to LTE". So I started messing around in my phone pushed buttons I shouldn't have and now I'm forced to do the one thing I don't ever do...ask you guys for help. I have been able to answer every question I've had by searching posts. Not this time. Can I pull the info for my sim card from a previous backup of my phone? If so, where would I find it and how and where would I place it in my phone to restore what I am missing?

Is it a sprint HTC one? If so, and your phone is running besides the SIM no detecting, I'd call into sprint and see if reprovisioning on their end would help...the SIM is strictly for the lye connection, it may have failed which if it did I believe you'd have to get a new one from sprint and have it linked to your account/phone in their system...I had similar situation except my issue was that a different SIM was linked to my account/phone which caused me to not have lte data til sprint changed to the CCID (a tech support rep will know what to do, it's a pain but it can be done) that was currently in my phone. Hope that helps. Let me know if that got ya somewhere.

Yes it is a sprint HTC One. I am going in tomorrow for a new SIM. I wonder if being rooted will be an issue? Guess we'll find out. I'll let you know if that fixed the issue.

Your have to rest it to factory and keep SIM inside when I turns back on and wait for little while, I happened to me too. and this trick worked.
Do I ever take the Sim card out and put it back in then reset the phone ...or just leave it in and factory reset ?? Thanks for the help

So I'm having this same issue. I personally have been fighting it with each update and spent hours on the phone since launch with AT&T and LG. Today when i contacted AT&T they transferred me to LG to see what could be done. The moment that tech got on the phone he said it was a known issue and it had to be sent in to be repaired. Unfortunately the AT&T DSC can no longer flash LG phones or I would have gone that route. It looks like LG messed up on this one for devices (look at their webpage and you will see 2 AT&T D950). Personally I'm looking into other options to see if anything else is available.
EDIT : I tried the return to stock method and both times it continues to say not registered. Guess its going back to LG for reflashing..
This stinks! Did u mess with similar card at all?

I tried changing sim cards, changing the date, multiple factory resets, everything that both companies wanted me to do. Even contacted lg 3 times in the course of 2 months for them to finally say it was a known issue. From various other threads and pages im seeing it happen on different lg phones as well.
EDIT: Contacted ATT Chat support again today to try to have them push the update to me, after finally explaining to him that he was looking at the wrong phone (every agent has done this since this issue has come up) he checked my provisioning and created a case to have my bjorked Update provisioning fixed. Might be something you all will want to have them look into.
Factory reset worked for me. I didn't get the not registered message after the reset.

I have that same issue the phone is not registered yet problem the only think would help to update the phone to kikat its finding the TOT and dll file and make the update via de lg flash tool but at this time no one have those files yet
hi i have had that issue with lg g2 and what i did was go to ATT outlet or whatever carrier you may have and ask for a new sim. put the new sim in and do a wipe everything....it sucks but must be done. when your phone restarts update everything as it should and check your software update and it should be working. that method has helped a bunch of people even in the g2 forums.
hope you all get the problem sorted.
Ok. Here is the very fustrating problem. Got my cellphone flashed to cricket at a local store. Data was working fine until I changed my number. Now talk and text work but no data. I did a search on here and a guy said its because my old number information is still in my phone. The thing is I dont know how to update it to put my new number in? I am in desperate need of help because I use Google Maps at work but I cant now because of the no data thing. Went backed to the store that flashed my phone and they said it has to be reflashed again even though talk and text work.
Again. I am in desperate need to fix my phone and cant afford the $55 bucks they want to reflash my phone. PLEASE IM BEGGING YOU HELP!!!!!!
Also sorry if I posted this in the wrong section
Just a thought. Try ##72786# from the dialer and choose reset from the menu when it comes up.

OK so this girl I know has been begging me for help with her Nexus 6 and I hoping you guys can make me her hero =D
Details:
A girl who has a problem the girl I'm trying to help took the girl I'm trying to help's phone and removed the sim card from it. I told her to go get a new one from Sprint thinking that was the only problem but after she got the new sim card she can't activate the phone and it is showing that it has been reset so it can only be unlocked with the google account that was on it initially. She does not remember the account details as she made the account new when she first got the phone and didn't really use it. Either that, or this other girl somehow associated a different account with the phone prior to resetting it and taking out the sim.The phone can receive calls just fine but she cannot dial out or do anything other than answer the phone when someone calls her.
Attempted fixes:
First I tried going to factory recovery to reset it but when you select recovery from the bootloader you get the little andy icon but underneath it says "Command not found" and there doesn't seem to be any combination of buttons I can press to get past that point and I end up having to 3-button reboot.
Next I booted the phone up in bootloader with key combos and connected it to a computer with adb & fastboot installed.Fastboot reads the device information and I was successfully able to /fastboot erase userdata to format the phone. I thought I had it fixed at that point but as soon as it gets a connection again it goes back to the "This phone has been reset and must be recovered with blah blah blah" message so I don't think I can get around that without installing a whole new operating system.....unfortunately usb debugging nor developer options are enabled on the phone so cannot unlock the bootloader via fastboot commands or any other way I can think of. Is this phone just totally hosed? I've walked her through attempting a gmail recovery on what she THINKS is the right e-mail address but can't seem to get the info correct or the address is off by a letter or two.
If anyone has experience with this or can point me towards a solution I would greatly appreciate it.
Thank you.
can't do anything about it. its a new security feature that google started. imagine if someone steals your phone and wipes it, now they'll still need your password to get in.
Can she say "forgot my password" on a computer? If she can get into the account then it will work. If she has to reset her password then she will have to wait 72 hours and then she will be able to login the email and password. Alternatively I have no idea how you could do this, but if you could root and flash 5.0.1 (or I think 5.1 should work just not 5.1.1 with its new security feature).
Alright yeah I was afraid of that though it is kinda cool for someone, like myself, who would never forget my associated email.....not so cool for her I guess. Seems like they are taking a page out of Apple's playbook with this though, haha.
@bob
Yeah I tried helping her recover the account but she apparently forgot everything she set the phone up with (including the account details and supplementary recovery emails) and apparently has way too many email accounts for one person. I agree flashing a different ROM other than the stock 5.1 would like fix the problem but I don't think I can get debugging enabled to unlock bootloader etc in the state the phone is in.....was hoping someone here might know a way to make that happen..
So if she takes the phone in to sprint and says to them you guys made me set up a gmail account and I can't remember it now which has resulted in this new phone I bought being completely unusable --- what do you think their procedure is going to be? Send it in for repair?
Hahahahahaha.
This sounds like a job for.... WARRANTY.
However, it is actually user error, which is actually on YOUR back (being the one who suggested simcard swapping without prepping the phone for it first). So if they deny warranty for "user error", then I think that YOU OWE HER A NEW NEXUS 6.
Suggestion for next time: when she has a working nexus 6 in her hands, fastboot oem unlock it. IMMEDIATELY.
Also tell her to use a gmail address SHE KNOWS, and not make up a new one for the thing.
Well when I suggested it the phone did not have a Sim card....it was stolen. What I told her was to take the phone in to sprint and explain the situation and see if they would give her a replacement Sim so if there is something that should have been done to the phone prior to that isn't sprint the one to blame? By the way exactly what is it that you would do to the phone to prepare it for the new Sim?
..side note....when I ran a '/fastboot getvar all' I noticed a warranty void line that said yes at the end of it..is that going to be a problem? Lol...

Stolen, what? Elaborate.
Sprint has no blame in this. The phone can't be used anymore until you, her, or whomever figures out/remembers the gmail account originally used to turn on Device Protection on the phone. If the bootloader had been unlocked prior to turning on Device Protection we wouldn't be having this discussion. The link below will explain everything in detail.

Yeah some girl she has beef with or that has beef with her had access to the phone and took the sim out of it....that's the story I'm told at any rate..... Thanks for the link and yeah not good news for my friend I guess since she's a bit of ditz and can't remember the account info, lol.
So 2 questions remain.... what was the guy above talking about regarding 'prepping the phone' for a new sim card.....? And, has anyone tried taking a phone in this state back to sprint or other carrier corporate store and know what she's in for if she does do that?

I'm pretty sure he just meant to turn off Device Protection before removing the sim card and unlock the bootloader so you have a chance to recover the phone. It's obviously too late for that, but something to think about in the future if she ends up replacing the Nexus 6 with another one.
It depends where she bought the phone from. If she bought it from Sprint they should have a record of her purchase once they pull up her account details. She should be able to walk into a corporate store and have it replaced without too much trouble.

Oh, I see...
Yeah, stay clear of her AND her phone. The sim card wasn't stolen from her phone. HER PHONE *IS* STOLEN from someone else.
You see what it takes to get the sim card out of these things? Handing it over to a frenemy for 20 seconds *does not* result in the sim card being removed.

Was my first thought as well after reading the OP.
It's all just an illusion
Long story short:
"Hard Bricked By Google?"
YES BECAUSE YOU STOLE THE PHONE.
Mods need to lock this thread and ban the user.
Recently, my phone has been acting strange. Last week it worked fine and its been ok for a year, until this past Saturday. I was sitting next the the g/f and I wanted to show her something, so I called her to test it. My number showed up as Unavailable. So I called a few other people, and same thing. After scouring thru my settings, and seeing everything enabled that should be, I went to a local ATT Authorized reseller. We swapped out sims, and I placed a test call to him. Instead of Unavailable, it showed up on his caller ID as +1. At a loss, I figured maybe a corporate store would have better knowledge then a reseller.
Today I went to the ATT store, and explained the issue, and they swapped out the sim again. Same issue, showed up as a +1 on his line. He checked my account, nothing out of the ordinary, and everything was how it was supposed to be.
Anyone else have this issue, and if so, how did you fix it? I am rooted but the only modification I have is a custom recovery.
Dialer --> Menu --> Settings --> Calls --> Additional Settings --> Caller ID. Change it to "show number".

That I couldn't tell ya, I am running stock with systemless root. Its just annoying that when I call people, no one answers because it wont show my number lol
Did you try having them give you another sim card and activate that? Sounds like it could be somethign with your system and/or the sim and not your phone itself.

I am going to do the March update once I can get the dang MD5s to match and probably factory reset (oh how I dread that) lol. But thank you everyone for the replies!
Just to kick this back up incase anyone else ever runs into the same issue. After almost 2 months of having this issue, it finally started getting to me. I recently got a Ford Fusion, and one of the features of the car is the ability to upload remote diagnostics that I can view later. The issue with this is, I had to register my number with Ford, and when I tried to call out, I would always get a "please check the number and dial again" message.
Then it happened again with Sirius. I tried 5 different numbers their online chat provided me with, and same message was played. Now it was starting to frustrate me since it seems these companies will not accept calls from Unknown Callers, and the 3 visits I took to the corporate stores proved to be a waste of time.
I was on the phone with ATT support and the guy I spoke with for 2 hours about this issue escalated my ticket and the next day I got a call back. It appears I was right in my assumption
As many know AT&T hasnt enable the Nexus 6 for HD Voice, which is required for Numbersync. When I got the Urbane 2nd edition first run, I was under the impression I could use it when it was available (numbersync that is). So when I heard it was, I went to my account and tried to activate it. Even though a message popped up saying my device (The Nexus) was not HD voice compatible, it still made changes to my account on their end, which completely botched my outbound caller ID. After he switched a few things and corrected my account, all is well again..
