Would be great if it was the same chipset but highly unlikely I guess.

Hey guys, i have quite allot of android phones and i have tried to stay away from Sony since they lock their boot loaders and it looked like it was hard to develop anything i haven't gotten one (the old ui was FUGLY as well). i own a T989 Galaxy s2 (in fact i own three of them!) as my Main for right now and its getting pretty old (cpu and gpu are old and Games are not as well handled as they used to) i have been thinking of getting a new phone and that phone i have come down to is either a Samsung Galaxy mega 6.3 or a Xperia Z or Xperia SP, i have never payed attention to the Xperia line and they have a pretty good thing going for now, i think i might have to move them to my list of jobs i might take up . everything about the Xperia Z looks pretty great, everything beats out my s2. thought im worried that i have heard that xperias TFT Screens have TERRIBLE veiwing angles, i dont honestly know if i care about that but do any of you get disappointed by this? and do you think it would be the same on the Xperia SP? if so please state what you dont like about the Xperia Z, your Help is appreciated .

well i suggest you to go for Xperia Z1 Compact / Z2,it has very good viewing angles
Xperia Z & Z1 really has very bad viewing angles,SP about same, but better
Or you can choose T2 Ultra,it also uses IPS TFT

i see that the Xperia Z1 compact only has a 4.3" screen. my s2 has a 4.5" and i would like something bigger or equal to that. i see that the Xperia Z2 Compact will have a bigger screen but when it comes out is unknown. im sure i wouldn't mind the poor viewing angles, but the real question is would i be fine with the SP or do i need a bigger screen (Xperia ZL) for $100 more?
Im viewing my phone head on and don't really want people watching my screen so the 'terrible' viewing angles don't mean much to me. When I show people videos on my phone no one has complained saying they cannot see. Im an ex Z user and current Z1 user. Id go for the Z out of your choices.

S2 have the same 4.3" like Z1 Compact
While Z2 Compact would probably be around 4.6"
Sony won't support SP much as it is not Z Series,so i still suggest you to go for bigger screen of Xperia Z / ZL
Z2 is the best choice

If you are looking at the Z2, i personally suggest looking at the newer HTC One M8 and S5.
Sony has JUST begun to catch up with competition, an example is they finally use IPS displays that don't give washed out colours.
Another thing that is an issue as of right now is, their software updates arrive late and with serious bugs, just take a look in the Z Ultra, Z1, Z1 Compact sections about their 4.4 update.
Also, the Z2 has quite large bezels.
Another thing to keep in mind is, when the next flagship Sony comes out soon, Sony will shift most their focus to that device, resulting in the Z2 having a shorter life as a top priority device compared to other companies devices.
(Sony has a 6 month flagship rotation, other companies usually have a one year flagship rotation)
Sony has begun to improve slowly, but to me, Sony is still a risky choice if you are looking for a flagship grade device and support.
All this is just my personal opinion

Can the sony xperia z c6602 get the pen mode enable?
I like the feature
If you mean Pen like in Samsung note series.
If you mean that answer is No.
Xperia Z doesn't have wacom digitalizer compatible with such pens.
You still can use pens for capacitive screens, but they are not so precise and trouble-free. I tried some of them, even some "amazing mind blow super-duper awesome" ones made for iPhones but they are rubbish just like any other chinese capacitive pens.
EDIT:
oh I forgot that there is "pen mode" -_- for xperia z ultra. he...
About that, I saw post in Polish Sony Blog that they have something like that in update(but probably it was just "gloves" mode), but what update and when I have no idea.
There is such trick for Xperia Z1 so who know if its possible in XZ
here is link to Z1:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2652762
Also I saw one topic for Xpeira SP, so If we can get gloves mode I dont think that it would be problem to set pen mode...
Out of curiosity I checked sys and system folders in my xperia Z, but there is no files needed for this(I thought that they maybe disabled it like in Z1 in latest kitkat update...)
Hi there,
I am looking for a new smartphone, as my current one (Xperia Z, 2 years) has a display damage and I think, replacing the display doesn't make any sense, as it would cost a lot.
I have these smartphones in my list:
Sony Xperia Z3 Compact
Sony Xperia Z1 Compact
Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini
I would like to have:
A good battery life
A good camera
My maximum budget is 400€.
Thanks for helping me out
Which of these would You recommend?
If you want a powerful phone, stay away from the Samsung galaxy s5 mini.....Its nowhere near as strong as the Sony xperia z1/z3 compacts....tho its just my opinion...now to answer your real question, well first of all, are you picky on pricing? If so, go for the Sony Xperia Z1 compact since its pretty cheap nowadays with high specs. I used to own one but i sold it and now using a Sony xperia Z2 which is pretty good i guess. If you not too picky on pricing, then go for the Sony Xperia Z3 compact. Personally, the camera on both the compacts are pretty much the same......if you really want a legit answer, check out reviews between the compacts on google. As for best battery, Z3 compact is obviously the winner. Its known to be the king of battery.......If i had to recommend which phone is right for you, just go for the Sony Xperia Z3 compact, you won't regret it. Also there is a pretty nice deal for the Sony xperia Z3 compact but be aware that the deal is gotta end very very soon. Its on eBay, i will give you the link:

Thank you for your constructive answer!
I will buy the Z3 Compact. ^^
