What the hell on earth was that ? I'm getting to hear this problem for the first time ever ! Anyways, is there any recipient number or something or does this happen just with every arriving message out there ?

I've no idea. I'm starting to think it's a carrier problem. Everything is fine, the recipient is fine. Yeah, only when arriving messages. And only long ones. If it's a single one then it comes out fine.

Are you sure this happens with pure words and no other symbols etc., ? I can remember my old java phone not showing some special symbols that some of my friends' Nokia showed up. But this is ANDROID, I wonder what's the problem. Have you tried it with a different SIM card ?

Well, flashing roms should wipe everything and texts must appear as normal. I don't think it should be anything with the phone. I ain't getting idea of what could have caused it. Btw, did this happen even when you first bought phone or it's just showing up now ? Are you sure you haven't done anything suspicious with the phone in the course ? I getting a feeling that this should be just the unsupported text format I spoke of before, but why do even letters appear so ? No idea...

No, it's starting to happen since about a while ago. Didn't happen when I first bought the phone. I haven't done anything that would alter that. Just rom flashing, that's it. And I know what I flash and what I do and it wouldn't affect text messaging like that. How can it be an unsupported text format? When I first got it, it was from a text sent from a Blackberry Curve. Now it's from my girl's phone and it's a Nokia. I'm starting to think it's a carrier problem since both phones had the same network.

What about your system fonts??
Are you using a custom rom? if so you can try flashing or putting in the correct folder the default fonts

Hmmm Have you tried the usual ways, UnReToasted, HovisBreak, Super One Click Toast?
In earlier revisions of the toaster you can use root beer to root it. When you have v2 of the toaster, the toaster is toast.

Nah man i tried gingertoast and visionatoasty+ even tried the infamous z4toast but they don't work, never had this problem before hmmm, might just go back to bread and try again, you got a link for the stock bread?

How do i find out which version i have? someone at toast4u said i would have no problems rooting it and he said he could make toast in 10 seconds.
Just something you need to remember about toasters;
If guns don't kill people, people kill people, then toasters don't toast toast, toast toasts toast.

So what you are trying to tell me is, if i was to toast my toast i would die?
wow.
When you use the toaster in recovery mode, it should give the darth vader print

Then you can root it, otherwise you have v2 of the toaster, which is not rootable yet since the force flow is too weak in that one.

You have to find out the HTOAST version before. toastionary doesn't work with every toaster.
Hold the toast button and plug the cable in, then wait 1 minute and you can see the HTOAST number on the baked toast.
Have you CRUMPET-OFF'd with unretoast?

Ok done that i got HTOAST version 0.10.0 (1.0.0.0.0)
Earlier revision of toast i'm guessing
Does unretoast work on 0.10.0 or is it only for 0.17.0111

Depends. When plugging your toaster in, keep your finger on one of the heating elements. If your finger doesn't get toasted, you have the first hardware revision. Then unretoast should work.

I don't wanna burn myself or brick the toaster man, i managed to get Crumpet-off but can't flash any custom breads.. recovery says Clocktoast mod recovery but still hmmm i'll mess with it later on
But attention dude! You can't flash a custom wholemeal toast, otherwise you gonna brick your toaster!
I see where you're going wrong. Gingerbread is the way to go. You may need to achieve crust-off before proceeding though. You'll want Root-Beer too otherwise you can't load a Custom Rye-covery.

Hovis roms are ok but they lack the prettyness you get with wholemeal and co-op own brand.

Yes and also bloatwares like Samsung account which always comes deleted in most roms. I use it a lot this just an example anyway

In this all that is still there, samsung account/apps. This is like the stock experience, but with quite a lot of goodies, if you look at post #1.

v3.2 is in progress. Will find more things first, but so far 1 important thing is done. Inkeffect showing 'None' in settings, now shows choosen color. Updates will be in CWM for simplicity, and way smaller than a complete rom.
haven't got any feedback, so hard to say what to do, I think it runs like a train with no hassle, execpt for the one mention above, but that is sorted. Plain theming isn't something to update for. However NightTheme is uploaded (post #1)
Update for 'none' in inkeffects > settings added to post #3.
Thanks. Will do some test today as its weekend

Wonderful! I can't really find anything bad, however I haven't tried everything If you apply the update you get correct ink choosen in settings (no diffrence otherwise), so it's not superimportant for trying purpose. But if you use it as daily rom for some time it can be nice to get that sorted.
I tip my hat for your efforts on this rom.
Wasn't bad at all.
The main problem are the ones you already noted.
The ink effect update kinda mess up the lockscreen of my wallpaper and it didn't solve the problem. If you can fix it in the version 3.2, this will be my daily rom.
---Pro abt theme---

---Con abt theme---
I didn't Setting UI. I understand it was "nightStorm" :what:

Thank you for pointing that out! I found the problem and sorted that (wrong ID link in smalis) (SecSettings.apk).
An other problem came across, darkred renders incorrect (yellow!)
That problem is in android.policy.jar in the darkred case. Problem is solved and yet another update is added/replaced (same link in other words). So there
is a new android.policy.jar in the update aswell.
Please check the changes and repport, if you have time and so

[Question] i9070 storage

Hey guys.
I'm pretty new here and my knowledge for Android is not that...good, so to say...
I was wondering, when I bought this beauty, the mobile service provider said that it had 16GB.
I find pretty curious the fact that when I access the Storage menu of the phone, I only see about 3,90GB available.
Can anyone tell me if this is normal (even if the phone actually has 8GB of storage instead of 16)?
I would like to add that I have never rooted the phone. It has been using the stock firmware and settings since I bought it.
Thank you in ADVANCE

This looks like 8GB version. 16GB should have 11GB for data.
So I am guessing it is normal to display only 4GB, right?

For 8GB version it is normal. I have that much for data. That 8GB is used for system, app, data partitions...
Yes, I knew something like that.
Thank you!
PS: I noticed that there are moment like 15 seconds or something when I can't send or receive messages. I also encounter moments when I can't call/send messages/receive messages until I turn off the phone and turn it on again.
Might this be a common issue for this phone?

If you feel 3.91GB is not enough you can make some changes using Root explorer But sure you must Rooted your phone to enjoy Bigger storage space...... You can see picture below my phone USB storage Total have 29.32GB :silly: WOW so huge & all your apps after install sure will store in USB storage so for me USB storage 3.91GB is very tiny small & really not enough for me specially for gamer... :fingers-crossed:

Thanks for the reply. But I'm waiting for the official update and will root my phone as soon as the CM10 is released

Extract this file and push it to system/lib and set the correct permission.

No the link is broken
Am I the only one who can't type long messages with the new hangouts? I assume it's cause of sprints 160 split limit. It just refuses to let me type anymore after a certain number of characters. Anyone else have this issue?

I was able to type a long message last night but that was via hangouts not sms. Maybe it can't split sms over 160 characters

Yeah as long as it's not an sms it'll type but if it's sending to a phone number it auto limits the characters. It doesn't auto split. You have to send the first part, type the second, then send. I hope official release fixes this

It's working for me, but it's taking 7 minutes to send and receive them. On the nexus 5 version, I couldn't get MMS to work at all. Stock messaging app sends and receives almost immediately for me.

it's working for me, with no more delay than with the stock messaging app (5-10 seconds). I never tried mms with the nexus 5 version.
MMS send and receive is now working for me after the new update but only via mobile data. Also, the video still crashes for me.

The official release won't even download from the play store in my case, I can only use the nexus five version. Ive tried to download it on both a sense 5.5, 5.0 (4.3 and 4.2) as well as aosp and aokp roms. But for some reason the play store only installs the 1.0.2 version. So I'm stuck having to use the nexus five hangouts v2 apk and mms only seems to work on aokp roms, no other. I also have the latest play store update, so I know that's not the issue.
