Just reroot with bin4ry's latest root tool. It fixes the issue. Some roms still use the old root files where there's an issue when you mount rw, forcing your phone to reboot.

I've tried rerooting with bin4ry's latest v30 root, but I have tried several times, but in Superuser app I get the same thing : su binary not found and then I've unistalled the Superuser application, and flashed from CWM the SuperSU.zip from Chainfire, now SuperSU is working, BUT I have the same problem : the phone reboots when mounting.
What should I do?
Thanks

Might not work but try binary v26
Sent from my C6603 using xda premium

Ok I will try it now.
L.E. : Thank you, it worked!

Yesterday was working fine, but now isnt working anymore the only difference is that I've installed through CWM the PureX soundMOD. Guess I have to reroot again? ) Any other solutions?
Solution :
adb shell
su
stop ric
then mount system with root explorer and delete /system/bin/ric
After that OTA doesn't work anymore.

Am I the only one who has this problem? Today after trying to paste an apk to system/app , forced reboot, and then another one after the SONY logo.
What should I do to get rid of this idiot problem?

Same problem here. Root Explorer to change R/W of /system, or copy a fire there make a reboot. Just re-root with Easy rooting Toolkit for XPEIRA Z SO-02E (ver 1.0.2) and works fine by far now, but not sure if it will happen again. (Rooted with bootloader BLOCKED)

I got another problem now, I've fully unrooted the phone with the SuperSU option, and now neither of rooting variants works. They stuck at here :
http://img803.imageshack.us/img803/8058/24461260.png
So no root with those methods, it worked by flashing through CWM the SuperSu.zip, but still I get forced reboots. I don't know what to do. Guess the only option is to do a full wipe, but I don't want to do that.

When you stuck there, try this: kill process adb.exe with task manager. Good luck.

Will try it when I get home. Thanks for the quick answers.
Not working : /system/bin/sh: can't create /sys/kernel/uevent_helper: Permission denied
Ok nice ...
Maybe I will reflash the firmware and do a full wipe, but I will stay like that for a while. Thank you anyway!

[Q] Help with root

Today I decided to root my captivate and was unsuccessful with the super one click. I then decided to do it manually with the update.zip. After I finished rebooting with recovery mode I saw the su app. I then tried to use titanium backup and it said that it could not get root permission. Could someone please help me figure out what went wrong and help me get a successful root so I can enable normally apps.

Did you enable USB Debugging for the one click method? Is your captivate I896? More info please.

Should I flash back to stock with odin and then try to root
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
What ROM are you running?
Titanuim Backup probably wasn't given su permissions.
1. Have you tried rebooting it. Sometimes all it needs is a simple reboot and when you start TB, it will ask for su permissions.
2. Go to superuser. If you see titanium backup, click on it, forget, and reboot.
Just oneclickstock, load your ROM, and root again.
Maybe it's an app that's getting in the way?

Ok so I put it into download mode and tried to use Odin. It said it was done, but nothing was changed on the Captivate. Any ideas?

ODIN must be open before you connect phone in download mode
I used a different one click root and it worked thanks for the help.

Just use "search " to find the busybox in zip file which you can flash it thru recovery. Good luck.

there won't be any cwm app or busybox app. cwm is a recovery mode u enter by pressing vol up+pwr+home
just try some app that requires root access to check if u have the right access permissions
Thanks Guys!!!
Thanks for the info.. It helped :good:
no problem...

[LT30p][ROOT] For Official JellyBean FW 9.1.A.0.489 {UNLOCKED BOOTLOADER ONLY}

Root for Unlocked Bootloaders ONLY
you can flash any FTF of Official JellyBean FW 9.1.A.0.489...
1) download SuperSU and place the file on SDCARD
2) download latest TWRP for JB and flash it using fastboot
3) boot into recovery and flash SuperSU update.zip
4) reboot device
You might also want to install busybox... Just go to market and download busybox installer (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=stericson.busybox) and after downloading app select /system/xbin/ as location to install busybox...
enjoy Root!
Strange.. When I tried to uninstall some system apps, one of them uninstalled, then the others failed, and now I can't do anything that requires root, almost like I'm no longer rooted...

Installed, still not working.
I have definitely done everything correctly, I have tried both SuperSU and Superuser, busybox installed to /system/xbin/
I guess I could try a different ftf, although I highly doubt it would help.

Downloaded a different ftf and that one worked, must have been a faulty download...
EDIT: Nope, I tested by uninstalling one app, when I tried to uninstall others it failed again.
I had total success with this method, how every I have also had a reboot :/
Not sure what caused it and couldn't get at my pc to get hold of any kind of log.
Might just try a pure stock unrooted jb for a while and wait to see if problem is reproduced or reported by other users.
Otherwise, great work Doom, look forward to your feature packed DoomKernel once your exams are dusted!!(best of luck btw)

- flash 4.1.2 europe via flashtool with full wipe
-flash your kernel with recovery
-enter recovery- it shows "cant mount system, cache data etc
-reboot
-before sony logo -> white triangle and under triangle blue bar
- again flash 4.1.2 europe via flashtool with full wipe
-before sony logo -> white triangle and under triangle blue bar..
So, what now i can do to boot my phone?

Is it possible to have CWM with stock kernel?
Flash back stock kernel. There are no working custom kernels yet as far as I know

That'll get rid of CWM. There is no way to have CWM with the kernel provided by Sony. What doom has done is included CWM in essentially what is his version of the stock kernel.

Can't mount system as r/w on rooted device

Hi. I will try to give as much info as possible so bare with me.
I have a Sony Z1 C6903 on build 14.3.A.0.757 Android 4.4.2
I rooted it using a prerooted firmware method with duel recovery (I think by doomlord not 100%) which involved downgrading my firmware back to Jellybean then rooting it and then flashing the prerooted firmware ect..
The root method worked perfectly and my device is fully working, but just recently I tried installing the features for the camera from the Z2 which involves moving the apk to the system/app folder but none of the apps can mount my system as r/w, I have tried ES File Explorer, Root Explorer, Total Commander and even TWRP's built in file manager and all of which are granted root access by SuperSU but won't mount the system as r/w.
I checked with root checker and it says I'm rooted and all other root apps seem to be working fine. I also have an LG G-Pad 8.3 on kitkat rooted and a Samsung Galaxy S2 on Cyanogenmod 11 both of which can mount the file system as r/w and I've rooted a lot of other devices with no issue.
One thing that doesn't make a lot of sense is that none of the apps can mount system as r/w on my Z1 yet if I tell SuperSU to install itself to the system from its own menu it works with no problem.
I just need a solution to this issue and would rather not reroot it again as the root method for this device is a pita, it's also worth mentioning that I can't unlock the bootloader on my device to root it that way as my phone has "Unlock Bootloader Allowed:" set to No.
Thanks.

I'm not sure but it sounds like you're using an older version of recovery that didn't allow full root.
Try flashing the latest version of NUT's XZDualRecovery (Z1-lockeddualrecovery2.7.123):

You can try this:
Download this UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.94.zip from chainfire, copy the zip on your phone reboot into recovery and flash it.
Just tried it now. TWRP wouldn't flash it because it wouldn't mount the system but CWM flashed it no problem. Got back into the OS and still same problem

Cant remove system apps after nougat update

Hello, i flashed my note 5 with the official nougat firmware through Odin. Now i am unable to remove system apps such as the Microsoft apps, email, internet etc. I tried using "system app remover(root)" which shows failed uninstall. Then i tried using titanium backup after which my phone got stuck at the samsung logo during restart. I had to again flash the official firmware to get my phone working.
Any help to remove system apps will be highly appreciated
Solved: I manually deleted the apks by using root explorer and now it works fine.

Try a rootchecker to see if rooted properly. And maybe grant system r/w access
Thank you, was stuck with the same problem, root explorer worked.
