[Q] Did I screw up? - Motorola Atrix HD

So I got CM10 up and running and kept getting an error with .android.media so I powered off. When i reboot it doesn't go past the "Warning bootloader unlocked screen". I google it and find something that says to try to wipe \sdcard. I do that and now backups and rom files are gone from CWM...I think I really screwed up this time...
EDIT: I suppose my actual question is what I do now since all the files are gone

Yea wiping the sd card was a bar idea. All of your stuff is gone now. Your gonna have to flash stock with rsd. For future reference you generally only wipe data and factory reset. Also you might wanna go and read through all the information about what everything does and how it works. Because it seems like your kinda guessing and don't really know what your doing and your gonna end up bricking your phone.
Sent from my Rage MATRIX HD MAXX

Ok, I've flashed stock before. I just get the file, remove the "getvar" lines then...transfer to phone? Last time I did this my phone was actually functioning.

.. No. Go into the android development section and get a stock rom then you put your phone in fastboot mod and flash the file through rsd lite.
Sent from my Rage MATRIX HD MAXX

So I finally downloaded the file but now my computer wont install the device drivers -_- It says it failed and I'm guessing its because the phone won't boot. Since the drivers wont install it isn't picking up the device (i think). Is there anything else I can do?
EDIT: I just remembered why we have the Internet.

Yeah.. You can go to the Motorola site and get the drivers lol.
Sent from my Rage MATRIX HD MAXX

I'm assuming I need the 4.1.1 files since you can't downgrade to ICS right?

What the heck its still not being listed as a storage option to transfer files to. Unless I'm (unsurprisingly) doing something wrong again...

Dude you don't transfer files to it. Like I said earlier put the phone in ap fastboot and flash the att firmware with rsd lite.
Sent from my JokerMATRIX HD MAXX

I'm in fastboot but after that you lost me. This is the last time I mess with my phone like this.

Good man. You don't need to brick it lol. Google a program called rsd lite. Its for your computer. Plug your phone in in fastboot mode and make sure you have the drivers installed. Then rsd will find your phone and you just install the att firmware.
Sent from my JokerMATRIX HD MAXX

The firmware thing is where I'm lost at. I don't exactly know where to get it. From a stock rom on the Development section like you said? So just download the rom onto computer and flash

Once its downloaded I select the file so it goes in the Filename box then click start and wait right? Do I need to click one of the numbers at the bottom? BTW I really appreciate your patience with these dumb questions.

Just click start and that'll do it.

Do you have any idea why I got stuck at the "Bootloader Unlocked" screen in the first place? All i did was power the phone off.

How did you flash cm originally? And was it the one here for the Atrix?
Sent from my JokerMATRIX HD MAXX

There was a thread somewhere on the Atrix HD section saying to use the Motorola Photon Q's clockworkmod and a bunch of people were saying it worked fine. I did it and you helped me flash the rom using clockwork. The cyanogen I flashed is the one in the Development section with the working camera. I restored my stuff with titanium and it said to reboot. I was going to bed so I just hit Power Off and when i tried to turn it back on it got stuck at the bootloader unlock screen,

Did you make sure to wipe data and system along with the cache? And mount the system before flashing?
Sent from my JokerMATRIX HD MAXX

I don't know if I mounted the system...I just did exactly what the instructions on the post said: 0. Backup, then Format System
1. Install the ROM
2. Install my AHD Fix -- must disable zip file verification
3. Wipe Data/Factory Reset
4. Wipe Cache
5. Reboot and enjoy!
I did all of this.

Bootloop after trying to restore w/ Bootstrap

So I was trying to restore back to my stock ROM backup using the boot strap recovery. There weren't any errors during the process of restoring the image but when it was time to boot the phone up it would stay in a bootloop.
I have tried factory reset with the power button and volume buttons but it'd go straight back to the loop.
I am trying really hard to understand this whole adb thing with the sdk program but I have no idea how to use it.
Can anyone please help this noob?
Return to stock - Windows.
FAQ sticky in the Bionic Development forum.
Thanks for the reply. I'll try this out when I come home from work.
Also, I reactivated my droid x until then. Will I need to go to Verizon for a new sim card for my bionic once I can start it up again?
I don't think so, but I am not sure. Have not bootlooped yet myself or had to FXZ.
I believe you may have to go for a new SIM card. The way the Verizon explained it to me when I returned my Charge was when you deactivate from a 4G to 3G only phone, that SIM is lost. However, 4G to 4G is fine.
Wouldn't hurt to try, but a good possibility you will have to.

About 2 hours after I said this, I bootlooped. Good thing this FXZ method works!!
haha yeah with all the new roms u cant help but to explore.
btw after 5 FAILED flashes I tried one more time with rsdlite and it finally worked!
It took about 20-25 minutes for the whole process to fully boot up my phone but I am very happy and thankful for the people on this forum.
The weird thing is that when it booted up... it booted up to an old restore of UNL3ASH3D. confused but im happy its fully functioning.
You won't need a new SIM card. I did an FXZ restore after I rooted my phone, unrooted it (didn't need to have it rooted because there were no ROMs and no CWM yet) and it wouldn't let me root again so I flashed to stock and it rooted just fine. You will need to flash the radio again though (or at least I did after installing DroidTh3ory's ROM because it kept showing 3G in spots I know i had 4G, worked fine after I flashed).

[Q] What currently uploaded ROMs work with AT&T as you install it?

Currently, I've tried all from the Batakang series, Nexesque, and AOSPizza, and only Batakang Rises has worked on AT&T. What other ROMs work on AT&T? I'm also having an issue with Batakang Rises. I editted the build.prop to get rid of the nav bar and the status bar disappeared too. I was using SS3, but I'm gonna try again with Rom Manager to try to get it to work.
All the roms in this forum work on att man.. And 75% of the RAZR HD roms do with a couple file changes. Also if your unlocked just use cwm delete safestrap

I'm trying Rom Manager right now, and it won't let me flash the Gapps with the Batakang Rises, limit is 1 zip.
And how do I get all the other roms to work with AT&T? They would never pick up signal.
Yeah because that's not the actual recovery. Go into cwm's actual recovery and you can flash 1 after the other. And I haven't any signal problems.. Are your apn's correct?

How do I go into the actual recovery? I press "boot into recovery" in Rom Manager and it takes me to fast boot which is confusing. And none of the ROMs will let me change my APN settings, its always greyed out.

You still haven't told me how I can get the other ROMs on AT&T. I have searched, but can't find it.
The roms for the razr HD will run on it. Then you just have to fix wifi and lte.

Alright, so I finally tried to use CWM/Rom Manager to flash AOSPizza and fix LTE/Wifi, and told it to backup the current rom and wipe it, then I flashed both the rom and Gapps. Then I rebooted and it was still on stock with nothing but stock system apps and Rom Manager. I tried to restore from that backup it did. But guess what? It wiped everything and erased the backup it JUST ****ING MADE. Thanks everyone for the stock Atrix HD. At least I had separate backups with Titanium.
Good joke guys, now how do I really flash ROMs?
Now every time I turn my phone on, it says the "System is upgrading" and that it's "Starting apps...". It's really a pain in the ass to download all my apps again, with them saying they're already installed, so I have to search each one in the Play Store on my phone and install them manually. And they don't queue so I need to wait for one to finish before I tell another to download.
And, yet again, more problems. Using LMT because I hate the on-screen buttons, and the "menu" and "back" options do nothing. Meaning I can't go back a page or bring up menus.
Also according to Titanium Backup I lost my root.
Did you mount the system before flashing? No one else is having these issues.

Today I went to school, came back, and now my PC won't recognize my phone, and vice-versa. Any advice?
USB ports were screwed up, got that fixed.
Mounted /system, flashed CM10 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2228597) and it sticks on the spinning boot logo. I'm an idiot. I didn't follow directions...
Alright, now I got it up and running, got LTE fixed, but I can't fix wifi because it won't let me connect to my phone over USB. It says USB debugging is enabled with the notification, but it won't show me on my PC.

Unable to change ROM

I rooted and unlocked my bootloader. I then decided to try some new ROMs. I installed PAC and used it for a lil while. I then downloaded another. Did the install. It said Install Complete. But when I rebooted, PAC was still there. Figured I accidentally installed the same one again, so I went to the SDCARD and deleted it. Then tried again. No change.
Yes I formatted Cache and did factory reset. No change.
What am I missin?

Did you mount the system on the new install? Or did you install aokp? Because it looks pretty similar.

What rom are you trying?

first tried the CleanRom then tried AOKP 4.2.2. Loop on both
i had a similar issue trying to go from pac man to AOKP i ended up flashing stock with rsd and re rooted and flashed AOKP rom but you may not have to do that.
Well did you flash the stock kernel before trying to flash clean rom like the instructions say to do?

[Q] [4.2.2][Official]PACman v23.0.0 issue on MB886

So I have tried installing this rom, but I've failed many many times. I'm not sure what the problem is, but if you've already successfully installed PACman rom, please tell me your exact steps (I'm a noob)! In the mean time, here are my steps:
1. Startup Safestrap Recovery
2. Create ROM Slot: rom-slot1 (system partition size: 1024 MB, data partition size: 1 GB, cache partition size)
3. factory reset, wipe system, format data, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache
4. Flash PACman rom (mb886_PAC_JB_4.2.2-v22.4.0_20130607-003508.zip) via SD card
5. Flash gapps (gapps-jb-20130301-signed.zip) via SD card
6. Flash Paranoid fix (I've done this step and skipped this step)
7. Wipe cache and wipe dalvik cache
^ So this doesn't work :crying:and I really want to try out this rom
... Wow no one reads ever. Do... Not... Use... Safestrap.. With.. Newer.. Roms.. It will not work. This has been posted countless times. Even says so in the Safestrap title.

Not officially but we have our own version you have to fastboot.

Well it's because the first custom ROM I installed (Batakang) required the use of Safestrap and I just assumed that all ROM installations were okay with Safestrap.

Lol don't worry I made that mistake when I first flashed a rom on this phone. I just think the safestrap thread should be removed because (I believe) you can still flash roms that say to use safestrap with cwm. That would make sure more people don't mess up their phones

We do. Not everyone needs or wants to be unlocked for whatever reason. Is it annoying answering these questions? Yes. This, IMHO, is a problem from people used to crack flashing and not bothering to read OPs, guides, faqs, or even use the search bar.

[Q] VZN Moto X DE TWRP Bootloop

i looked. i swear. however, can't find anything that addresses my issue or at least i don't recognize it at my issue.
I have a DE Moto X on VZN.
unlocked bootloader
reverted from 4.4 to 4.2.2
flashed TWRP-2.6.3.1-ghost-4.4
Everything was working just fine and i couldn't leave well enough alone. I was screwing around and tried to flash/install/whatever an apk that would invert gmail colors....basically white to black. i'm not sure if it was before or after i did that but i created a backup in case it screwed something up and i wanted to revert. well, i loaded it and nothing happened so i went to restore my device from the backup i had just created and TWRP told me it was complete/successful or something and gave me the option to reboot. i did and now my phone is stuck in a boot loop. i've tried to restore several times to no avail.
i can get into bootloader menu but normal start up starts the boot loop process again. TWRP loads if i go into recovery. phone isn't recognized by RSD Lite. not sure what to do.
Can anyone help or tell me what additional info you need to be able to help?

So you've tried restoring your nandroid prior to the flash, and still get bootloops, right? Have you tried wiping the caches? You can also try a full wipe and see if that gets you out of the boot loop, and then you can go back and try to restore your nandroid.
If all else fails and you can get into fastboot, there are instructions here on getting back to stock: https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/standalone/bootloader/recovery-images. I would pull my backup from the device first from within TWRP (although if you don't erase userdata it should still be on the phone). You'll have to re-flash TWRP, but that process should get you back to having a working phone.
there might also be a problem with the fact that oyu were running 4.2.2 and using twrp that was built for 4.4. there is a twrp that was built for 4.2.2 so i don't know why you used the one built for 4.4. don't know what the differences are if any that would affect running twrp 4.4 on a 4.2.2 firmware but there may be some major issues.
You could try manually deleting everything with fastboot, then boot into recovery to restore your backup before flashing the 4.2.2 TWRP.
Thanks for the help. I thought I edited my post to say I fixed the problem. Did that with a wipe from the twrp bootloader our whatever that screen is called when you not into recovery.
Thanks

If you have an unlocked bootloader, why not use one of the available mods with 4.4?
First I guess would be because I didn't know about it. I wasn't really planning on unlocking and rooting to begin with.
I got the DE because at the time I needed a phone it was the only x I could get with 32GB.
