So I have tried installing this rom, but I've failed many many times. I'm not sure what the problem is, but if you've already successfully installed PACman rom, please tell me your exact steps (I'm a noob)! In the mean time, here are my steps:
1. Startup Safestrap Recovery
2. Create ROM Slot: rom-slot1 (system partition size: 1024 MB, data partition size: 1 GB, cache partition size)
3. factory reset, wipe system, format data, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache
4. Flash PACman rom (mb886_PAC_JB_4.2.2-v22.4.0_20130607-003508.zip) via SD card
5. Flash gapps (gapps-jb-20130301-signed.zip) via SD card
6. Flash Paranoid fix (I've done this step and skipped this step)
7. Wipe cache and wipe dalvik cache
^ So this doesn't work :crying:and I really want to try out this rom
... Wow no one reads ever. Do... Not... Use... Safestrap.. With.. Newer.. Roms.. It will not work. This has been posted countless times. Even says so in the Safestrap title.

Haha okay
Hey, sorry
What should I be using then?
EDIT: I looked around and found that I should be using ADB and stuff - the only knowledge I had was from watching the tutorial from the guy installing Infekted
Adb isn't necessary. Your bootloader is unlocked correct? Use cwm.

Oh, okay. I originally thought the Atrix HD wasn't supported, but it seems as though I can do something about it

Supported by what?
Sent from my PACMAN MATRIX HD MAXX
I thought Atrix HD wasn't supported by CWM - it wasn't in the list of devices. I did find the tutorial from skeevydude on how to do stuff, but when I fastboot, ADB doesn't seem to recognize my phone - so I'm not sure how to install CWM anymore.
Not officially but we have our own version you have to fastboot.
Read this.

I've found everything now through threads and stuff, thanks for helping! What I did was I just restored everything (flashed stock rom with RSD lite), rebooted, installed CWM, then installed the rom.
Is there a moderator up here that can remove the safestrap thread in the Atrix HD forums? This issue has to happen like 3 time a week lol.

Well it's because the first custom ROM I installed (Batakang) required the use of Safestrap and I just assumed that all ROM installations were okay with Safestrap.

Lol don't worry I made that mistake when I first flashed a rom on this phone. I just think the safestrap thread should be removed because (I believe) you can still flash roms that say to use safestrap with cwm. That would make sure more people don't mess up their phones

Skeevy mentioned last time I requested the removal of the SS3 thread, he said we still need it for people that need/want to keep their bootloaders locked for warranty reasons or whatever.

We do. Not everyone needs or wants to be unlocked for whatever reason. Is it annoying answering these questions? Yes. This, IMHO, is a problem from people used to crack flashing and not bothering to read OPs, guides, faqs, or even use the search bar.

fastboot oem lock and unlock don't work for us. The was the unlock was done we're in a (what-should-be) permanent fastboot oem unlock state.
Can I edit the title to read "[Solved]" in front?
Yeah you can. Even better instead of making new topics with each issue you have just keep them in one and change the tile.

It appears that the package is broken. For the time being I have no way of remaking it. I hopefully soon will be able to make it again.
The other day I managed to get my hands on a UK ATRIX that was still running the official 2.3.4 rom (T-Mobile I think) so I stuck ROM Factory on it and made a fruitcake of it for your enjoyment.
As always with custom ROMs I am not responsible for anything you do to your device, you don't have to flash this if you don't want to!.
Also this is the first time I have used Rom Factory to do anything and I am completely unable to test it as the phone I made it from has an locked bootloader (does this matter?) so again flash with caution.

Yup. It is exactly that. It has no unique features other than the fact that it is the stock UK ROM that went missing at the same time as all of the file sharing websites in the form of a fruitcake.
Has anyone tried it to see if it works? I still have to phone (locked bootloader & It's not mine) I made it from (though not for much longer) and can have another go!
Thanks, I'll try it when I get back home.

Tried this yesterday. Had CM7 latest nightly running. Did a full wipe and clean install. But unfortunately, it kept booting into CM7 (not the one I had before flashing). I anyways tried logging into my Google account and the setup wizard force closed every time I tried. Had to revert to my previous setup
Not sure if I did anything wrong, I know the usual drill of installing custom ROMs.
Did anyone else give a try?

Very odd issue... Is it because the device I made it from has a locked bootloader? You say that the rom didn't flash (or did but not properly) what did the install script in CWM say?
Sorry I don't have the device any longer so I won't be able to do anything with re making the fruitcake :crying: as I have had to give it back.
PS I have sent you a PM with the original rom link in it, may be that the one on the mirror is corrupted.

The script said that the flash was successful. Also it said that I should not forget to wipe cache and data, which I did anyways. No errors in the install script.
Not sure if the zip had the original ROM, coz it was booting into CM7, which is obviously not what you are trying to do. I did a full wipe, 3 times, so I guess there is no possibility for it to boot into my previous installation of CM7 nightly.
I saw your PM. Thanks. I will try today if I get some time off work and let you know.

The zip is 200MB this would make you think that it includes the stuff. I have just extracted it an the .zip only contains the edify script for installing the rom nothing else. Derp.

MROM 2.3.7 to Stock 2.3.4
Can someone make working UK (Orange) or Europe (Retail) Fruit cake? I need it for my Atrix, which is unlocked for all carriers, rooted and with unlocked bootloader. Didn't find nowhere.
Does this ROM has Cell Broadcast?
Every time I reboot, I get the "android is upgrading" screen.
I am rooted and BL unlocked. This started after I tried --and failed, see below -- to flash Batakang Rises.
Is my Dalvik-cache being cleared somehow? Doesn't that do this?
I have tried a factory reset. I can't reflash my rom, since zips I flash don't seem to stick. (I posted about that earlier and got no responses.)
Not that big of a deal, but just quite annoying and time-consuming.
Same problem
I'm getting the same problem, although it doesn't affect anything, it just bothers me a lot.
On the development forum it is already on the "known bugs" list, so it must be a common problem.
I've tried all the common fixes but its still there. I LOVE the Batakang Rises rom, but this really annoying, and I may try out the PACman rom.
Its just built into the rom since the rom was meant for locked bootloaders.

No idea because if you had a locked boot loader and tried to flash any of the roms for this phone (4.2.2 ones anyways) you'd probably brick your phone.
Anyways I'd definitely recommended PAC. I've tried all the major roms here and I like it the best. There is a battery drain on all 4.2.2 roms bit it seems a little higher on pac (might be fixed with the newesy build). There is a fix for it (more of a battery boost actually) in the dev section.

Just a thought but I have learned that when changing ROMs its best to manually WIPE system, data, cache. Don't know why but it seems to help. Especially when flashing back to stock.

lol glade to hear it.
So I got CM10 up and running and kept getting an error with .android.media so I powered off. When i reboot it doesn't go past the "Warning bootloader unlocked screen". I google it and find something that says to try to wipe \sdcard. I do that and now backups and rom files are gone from CWM...I think I really screwed up this time...
EDIT: I suppose my actual question is what I do now since all the files are gone
Yea wiping the sd card was a bar idea. All of your stuff is gone now. Your gonna have to flash stock with rsd. For future reference you generally only wipe data and factory reset. Also you might wanna go and read through all the information about what everything does and how it works. Because it seems like your kinda guessing and don't really know what your doing and your gonna end up bricking your phone.
Sent from my Rage MATRIX HD MAXX
Ok, I've flashed stock before. I just get the file, remove the "getvar" lines then...transfer to phone? Last time I did this my phone was actually functioning.
.. No. Go into the android development section and get a stock rom then you put your phone in fastboot mod and flash the file through rsd lite.
Sent from my Rage MATRIX HD MAXX
So I finally downloaded the file but now my computer wont install the device drivers -_- It says it failed and I'm guessing its because the phone won't boot. Since the drivers wont install it isn't picking up the device (i think). Is there anything else I can do?
EDIT: I just remembered why we have the Internet.
Yeah.. You can go to the Motorola site and get the drivers lol.
Sent from my Rage MATRIX HD MAXX
I'm assuming I need the 4.1.1 files since you can't downgrade to ICS right?
What the heck its still not being listed as a storage option to transfer files to. Unless I'm (unsurprisingly) doing something wrong again...
Dude you don't transfer files to it. Like I said earlier put the phone in ap fastboot and flash the att firmware with rsd lite.
Sent from my JokerMATRIX HD MAXX
I'm in fastboot but after that you lost me. This is the last time I mess with my phone like this.
Good man. You don't need to brick it lol. Google a program called rsd lite. Its for your computer. Plug your phone in in fastboot mode and make sure you have the drivers installed. Then rsd will find your phone and you just install the att firmware.
Sent from my JokerMATRIX HD MAXX
The firmware thing is where I'm lost at. I don't exactly know where to get it. From a stock rom on the Development section like you said? So just download the rom onto computer and flash

Do you have any idea why I got stuck at the "Bootloader Unlocked" screen in the first place? All i did was power the phone off.
How did you flash cm originally? And was it the one here for the Atrix?
Sent from my JokerMATRIX HD MAXX
There was a thread somewhere on the Atrix HD section saying to use the Motorola Photon Q's clockworkmod and a bunch of people were saying it worked fine. I did it and you helped me flash the rom using clockwork. The cyanogen I flashed is the one in the Development section with the working camera. I restored my stuff with titanium and it said to reboot. I was going to bed so I just hit Power Off and when i tried to turn it back on it got stuck at the bootloader unlock screen,
Did you make sure to wipe data and system along with the cache? And mount the system before flashing?
Sent from my JokerMATRIX HD MAXX
I don't know if I mounted the system...I just did exactly what the instructions on the post said: 0. Backup, then Format System
1. Install the ROM
2. Install my AHD Fix -- must disable zip file verification
3. Wipe Data/Factory Reset
4. Wipe Cache
5. Reboot and enjoy!
I did all of this.
I rooted and unlocked my bootloader. I then decided to try some new ROMs. I installed PAC and used it for a lil while. I then downloaded another. Did the install. It said Install Complete. But when I rebooted, PAC was still there. Figured I accidentally installed the same one again, so I went to the SDCARD and deleted it. Then tried again. No change.
Yes I formatted Cache and did factory reset. No change.
What am I missin?
Phone is Moto Atrix HD
Did you mount the system on the new install? Or did you install aokp? Because it looks pretty similar.
Sent from my PACMAN MATRIX HD MAXX

Pretty sure I said mount the system. Not the SD Card man.
Sent from my PACMAN MATRIX HD MAXX
Ok.. Mounted System.. Did the install again. Now its stuck in a loop.
Did I miss something?
Did you wipe data factory reset then mount then flash?
Sent from my PACMAN MATRIX HD MAXX
I did this time.. still looping
What rom are you trying?
Sent from my PACMAN MATRIX HD MAXX
first tried the CleanRom then tried AOKP 4.2.2. Loop on both
i had a similar issue trying to go from pac man to AOKP i ended up flashing stock with rsd and re rooted and flashed AOKP rom but you may not have to do that.
Well did you flash the stock kernel before trying to flash clean rom like the instructions say to do?

This is not my first time rooting a phone and installing customs roms.Phone is rooted and bootloader is unlocked. But Im having trouble with safestrap. After creating a slot for the new rom. Then do all the wipes for that slot. Then I go to flash the rom. Which only take like 10 seconds. Which is faster then it has ever been before. Then it ask if I would like to reboot, also saying you have no OS installed. I can switch back to the stock rom slot and the phone reboots and works perfect. Been trying to figure this out for 2 days now why its not flashing the rom properly.
safestrap is very outdated i dont suggest it and you can only flash stock based roms
