XT860 I believe has GSM support. The XT862 (Motorola Droid 3 - Verizon) only has CMDA support and whatever Vodaphone runs on..
Phew Thanks, that was a close one. I didn't want to drive all the way out to where this person lived just to find out it was cdma only, then feel pressured to buy it. So its safe to say all the Droid 3's sold through Verizon are CDMA only correct?
The XT862 from VW is a global phone like advertised, has GSM and CDMA.
Droid 3 also known as Motorola DROID 3 XT862, Motorola XT860 4G:
2G Network
GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
CDMA 800 / 1900
3G Network
HSDPA 850 / 1900 / 2100
CDMA2000 1xEV-DO
MILESTONE 3 XT860 also known as Motorola XT860 4G, Motorola MILESTONE 3 ME863:
2G Network
GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
3G Network
HSDPA 850 / 1900 / 2100
Milestone XT883 For China market also known as Motorola DROID 3:
2G Network
GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
CDMA 800 / 1900
3G Network
HSDPA 2100
CDMA2000 1xEV-DO
-smc
All D3's sold by VZW in the US are global, although I'd wait for the Galaxy Nexus to come out, being that it's 4G, runs ICS, and global as well.
The D3 Verizon sells works just fine but has a hardware lock because Verizon doesn't want to have them on AT&T and T-Mobile. But if you flash the China ROM it let's you run it on their networks. But overseas it should work just fine.

Wrong. You can use the GSM feature anywhere if you unlock it, except for any US GSM networks
Indeed.. not sure why you would tell him its CDMA only? I'm using the XT862 with GSM
Yeah the guy who said it doesn't have GSM hardware is wrong.

[Q] T Mobile SIM in Captivate

Hello all,
tl:dr version: how can I connect to TMobile data networks on my unlocked CM9 ROM captivate
I recently gave my captivate running CM9 ROM to my friend using a T-mobile SIM card.
We got the phone unlocked with the network using the code 26820526.
The phone works and everything is well except the data.
We can only connect to the Edge network
After doing a little research, I found out that TMobile runs on 900 MHz and 1700 MHz (Maybe 2100 MHz also??).
I got into the service menu and the 1700 band was not listed as an option, only
GSM 850
GSM 900
GSM 1800
GSM 1900
WCDMA 2100
WCDMA 1900
WCDMA 900
WCDMA 850
are listed.
So, my question boils down to:
How do I add some TMobile bands on here, do I need to flash a new modem? Or am i chasing something unattainable?
Just trying to get this man some faster internet than Edge network on Tmobile.
Sorry. Captivate + T-Mobile = Edge Only

[Q] 900 MHz 3G-UMTS Network on Atrix HD?

Hello!
Would it be possible to get the 3G-UMTS 900 MHz network on Atrix HD? My operator used 900 MHz frequency on 3G network. Atrix MB886, however, it only supports 850, 1700, 1900 and 2100 MHz. Chipset has the same as the Razr Maxx-HD, which supports the 900 frequency. What would happen if I flash his radio.img? Any idea how I could switch on 3 g network for faster data transfer?
Thanks for advice.
Atrix HD in Europe?
Have nobody in Europe this Phone? In EU is for UMTS-3G 900MHz frequency standard, as 2100Mhz too, But 900MHz has some advantages and several provider work only on 900 MHz. I know in Europe Motorola sales only RAZR HD, but Atrix HD has the same chipset as RAZR and maybe we can with Radiocomm or whit flashing radio.img or NON-HLOS.bin get RAZOR bands 850\900\1900\2100 on 3G Network?
Epinter make good ROM for both devices any maybe we can only change the right radio files, before flashing to get right bands.
Nobody try this?
I'm sorry for bumping old topic but would this work?
Maybe now someone can reply to this topic? I would love to hear answer. Maybe later I will try that. Is it safe? ;P
Thank you!

if it can be a clue or any help :
my unlocked ATT atrix HD was not able to do the Canadian LT on Bell or Telus on OEM ATT ROM.
flashed the Bell OEM JB and LTE started working here in Montreal.
+1
I would be very interesting in the 900 MHZ in 3G. I lost the network (cannot make a call) lots more often than on other phones. I think it is the reason.

XT862 900 MHz 3g bandhello,

900 and the 1700 MHHello, this is my first post, an uncle gift to me a droid 3, i already root it and do a lot of things, is a great phone, but in my country, my network use the 900 MHz band to 3g connection, obviustly my phone is from the US, from verizon, so my phone got the US bands (850/1900/2100) as you should know, so, i was believing if there is some way to change a band to use 900 instead of, for example 850, my local network use the 900 and the 1700 mhz bands, i don't know if that bands are hardware or software, but if there is any possibility i really will thanks any help of answer
Pd: and of course i'm making this thread because my phone just take up to E, i know that is capeable to reach H, but i don't want to change my network provider

RAZR I mhz

I have a supposedly "unlocked", RAZR i , however it won't work on any network other than T-Mobile. I've been told T-Mobile UK Motorola Razr I supports T-Mobile UK's network frequency of 1800 mHZ, but, Vodafone, O2 and 3 use an updated 4G network that runs on 1900 & 2100 mHZ. Is this correct and is there any way I can use the phone on the 3 network.
Thanks in advance....

Razr I should work on the following frequencies:
2G Network GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
3G Network HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100
The device doesn't support 4G. So if the providers can give u 2G or 3G on those freq u can use them.
