Skin with Sony logo - Xperia Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all, I am looking for a original skin with the Sony logo, on ebay I found nothing. Ideas?

No such thing thus far.

It might be a problem for companies to print Sony logo on screen protectors / skins that might replace the anti-shatter film. Would be nice if Sony released an official screen protector with their logo printed on it, for those who removed the film and want the logo back.

The point is not to remove the Anti Shatter film that's why it's impossible to get!

So, if is impossible... why sony can?

Xperia z factory screen protector already on the phone?!

I heard on a video review that the Xperia z has a factory screen protector on it. If you peel it off the Sony brand onto comes off too. Is that why the glass dosent feel smooth?

Yeah, there is a "shatterproof" screen protector preinstalled on the Z, and all of the Sony Xperia and Walkman devices.
It doesn't prevent the screen from breaking, but as a protection to keep the broken glass from falling to pieces and making you harm.
And yes, if you peel it off, the Sony logo will come out, as it is imprinted in the plastic shield, rather than on the body of the phone, and it is also the reason the screen feels rubbery.
So it's obviously not ment to be taken off. You would think Sony would step up their cell phone game with all the competition. To me Sony still hasn't fused well with android.

[Q] Scratch in anti-shatter film - replacement?

I have just made a huge scratch in my anti-shatter film. At least I think it's just the anti-shatter film and not the glass itself.
Is there any way to replace the anti-shatter film with another that is scratch free?
Or any suggestions to what else I might do to get rid of it?
Thanks,
Hvilsted

They don't sell spare antishatter films. It is part of the screen, as Sony describes them.
Although you could always replace it with any screen protector. Keep in mind that peeling off the ASF will also remove the Sony logo of the screen.
Given it is made of pretty soft plastic, I wonder if it can be polished?

Original Screen Protector

I got a Brand New EE Xperia Z1 and noticed it came with a separate screen protector. I am just wondering is this the Shatterproof Screen protector or is that already on the phone?
I am only asking as I have already bought a tempered glass one, and was happy to put it on top of the shatterproof one, but not sure if thats it or is it just a standard thing that I can take off and put the glass one on? (plus I already have bubbles on the one that came in the box!)
The one that I'd already on is the one with eh Sony branding on.

thank you for your help the back one came off after about 5 minutes after i got momentum lol now for the front one
I personally do not know why people didn't invest in a regular screen protector for the front and back. So the one Sony provides won't get scratched. I personally am a screen protector kind of guy.

well the back one doesn't need one in my opinion looks better without it

So does the Z1 really comes with a Screen protector

I've seen a Youtube video where a guy removed an official Sony screen protector. No not the one with the translucent plastic pull-out tab.
He used a knife to remove it. Bad thing was, the Sony logo was embedded on the screen protector. So if you remove the screen protector, the Sony logo goes along with it.
Any of you guys tried it then used a different screen protector?
There was no screen protector on my Z1 and the Sony logo is still there.
I think you have missunderstand something.
Do you have a link to the video?
There is screen protector on every Z1 and like you said Sony logo is embedded on the screen protecton. So when you take it off the sony logo be gone.
I think you confusing something, the video shows how you can take off the Anti-Shatter Screen Protector (ASF) which come with the phone. If you look closely to the glass of you phone you will see there still a tiny screen protector and if you remove it the Sony logo will go out with him because the logo is on it. So if you apply any other screen protector on the phone the Sony logo will not come off if one day presumably you will try to remove the screen protector which you apply. BTW is not recommended to remove the original anti-Satter screen protector from Xperia device.

Eclyptos is right. And to add to it, if you remove the anti shatter film you void your warranty. So definitely not recommended
