first i flashed stock kernel with flash tool and my 5-year-old cousin ran and clicked the optimize buton (i dont even know what that button does). my x8 rebooted and stuck in the boot loop (it shows the sonny ericsson logo(the text one) and the green one).i tried pc companion repair but it doesnt work. what can i do [and i cant access my xrecovery menu]
Turn off your phone go to SEUS update software....and press back button while you connect yourphone to pc.......
can you give me a link for seus (cant find on sony ericsson site it says not available)(and directs me for using pcc)
http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/sup...oads/subject/pccompanion/xperiax8?cc=hr&lc=hr
Just push green button...it is on croatian but when you install it you could change language...
ok but i said i tried pc companion repair but it doesnt work
It must work, just turn off your phone start pccompanion and start pressing back button when you connecting your phone to pc...do not stop doing it until pcc says so....
P.S. Search forum for universal kernel repairement tool...

if pcc or seus doesn't work for you, download stock rom. and use flashtool instead. just install pcc and flashtool drivers and follow the instructions.

X8 bricked

Hi, i got a problem with my x8 . I tried to install new rom on my x8 ( i have done it before and succeeded), but this time i cant get passed from SE logo, i cant get into xrecovery, and when i try to turn on to flash mode, it turns on flash mode like for about 10 seconds then turns off and throws SE logo on the screen . I've tried to repair with Sony Update service but still throws out of flash mode, also with flashtool . If anybody knows whats wrong, all the help would be appreciated .
take out the battery, wait 5-7 seconds, put the battery and hold the back button and then plug in the usb cable, maybe this will help

Wont let me do that either, because the phone stays on flash mode just for 10 seconds and then throws out and SE logo comes back on and nothing else, done this over and over again

Do you have the drivers? Is your cable ok?
Just to rise your moral it isn't bricked since it does turn on up to a point.

I had that problem to. If it's not working with PC Companion or with SEUS use flash tool. Google for X8_E15_1.3.A.0.62_generic.ftf cause i don't know if it's ok for me to create a mirror with this.. It will work perfectly. Trust me.

turn off your phone and put the micro usb in your phone ( dont connect to pc yet ). start the update service and choose your phone ( normal xz , not japanese version!! ). it will say u need to press volume down while phone is off and after u keep pressing down put the usb in your PC. IT will detect and wipe and install stock rom.. ).. tell me if it works

When you connected the phone in flash mode(vol Down+usb) did you installed the drivers?
Usually when you click on flash with flashtool and you select the firmware, you have to wait till the pop up tells you to connect the phone.

I bricked my XZ :(

Please help guys. I tried flashing ROM using the instructions on the front page for locked bootloader and my phone froze on formatting /system, I restarted phone and it is just stuck on Sony. I have tried holding power and volume up it does nothing except restart the device. My PC won't recognise it to do any repairs. Any ideas?
Keep pressing vol up + power for 15 sec till the phone shutdown.
Use flashtool to flash a stock ftf firmware.

It just ends up vibrating for three times and restarting back to Sony screen?
Weird this should turn off the phone.
Is the phone plugged to a usb?

Ok thanks I have it turned off now. How do I flash with it off with flashtools?
Download flashtool from development section, and an ftf stock firmware.
Put the ftf file in flashtool/firmware folder.
Install xperia z drivers, you find it in flashtool/drivers
Click on flash, choose the ftf and wait the the pop up telling you to connect your phone by holding volume down and connecting the usb.

I don't know if there is an easier way cause i didn't tried the recovery available.
All you can do is doing all steps again and install the recovery than restore your backup.

ok so i was stupidly messing around with my fastboot cwm interface menu`s
and i decided ,somehow that it was a good idea to try and install the jellybean 4.2.2
firmware on my device so i entered the install from sdcard menu without even thinking much about it i located the .zip file and installed it and clicked reboot and then absolutley nothing but the boot vibration went off and the screen stays black and it is stuck here . so i used to old powr+ vol up for 3-15 secs and waited for the double vibration and still nothing happens .so im stuck.
sorry for the long post but i`m in a panic as this phone is fairly new about 1 month old and i had already rooted and unlocked boot loader on it so .i hope the info helps you to help me
please respond asap :fingers-crossed:

Sounds to me like you haven't flashed the kernel required for 4.2.2 (I am presuming you were on a stock/custom Sony ROM before)
If you flash 4.2.2 you also need to flash the kernel specific to the ROM you've tried to flash using fastboot commands.
To do that you need to have the correct XZ drivers installed, and have adb/fastboot working

Serious Xperia Z WiFi + Bluetooth problem!

Hi. My xperia z froze at a game's loading screen and was stuck until I hardreseted it by holding power + vol up. After that, the boot time became extremely long. When the phone finally started I were about to connect to my WiFi, but the WiFi won't turn on! It just says activating, and stays like that. The same thing with bluetooth! Everything else seems to work, but the boot time is still really slow. I've been thinking about flashing CM10.1, if I will need to do a clean restore to fix my wifi, should I flash CM10.1 instead for stock rom?
Sent from my C6603 using xda app-developers app
Do a internal wipe (factory reset) under settings/back up and restore follow by a repair through pcc or sus. If it doesn't work it could be your router.
