Sprint default configuration prompt - Sprint HTC One (M7)

I get this "sprint default configuration" ready to install crap every so often. If I load it it changes all my home screens and stuff back to sprints default. How do I stop this from trying to load/download?

Don't know yet I think. I bet if you are rooted you could probably find the apk in system and delete it. I've just been hitting home and not hitting okay when prompted. It hasn't messed up my settings yet.

I removed the app in /system called SprintID.apk and it went away.

I'm not rooted. Hadn't really checked out development yet. Is there an easy root for it? I don't want to disable future ota's, so is it hard to go back stock after rooting and removing sprintID?

I've removed sprint ID and everything else sprint and I still get it. it pops up every time I reboot my phone and reinstalls everything I deleted.

same issue here. For now I'm just using Go Launcher EX in case Sprint ID decides to wipe my sense screen again.

Let it install

I'm a Sprint Product Ambassador supporting the launch of the One.
That is a necessary part of the provisioning process for the One. If it appears let it install once and it should not do it again.

I did let it install a couple times. When I try to change my screens back how I like them it'll prompt to install again. I just force stopped sprint id. Haven't rebooted yet to see if it happens again.

Yeah, I let it and several times throughout the day it downloads again and asks me to click continue to install. Very annoying.

Please keep me posted

enable rw on system and uninstall it, hasn't bothered me again

Config prompt and phone volume
The sprint config message keeps coming to me. Force stopping the ID app didn't work. But, I had to factory reset the phone today per HTC because the phone is always at a loud volume, like on the speaker. Nothing we did fixed it, I thot.
So, the factory reset was done and it fixed the phone problem.. After spending a few hours twiaking the phone to get my screens back in shape, the sprint config message started to appear and now the volume problome is backon my HTC One.

Sadly mine appears to be installing it multiple times as well. Since getting my phone 36 hours ago I've let it run twice and avoided running it (via the home button) 4 times.
This seems a bit ridiculous, any idea when we can expect an fix/patch to stop this from re-occurring? I haven't rooted or modified my phone in any way (other than basic application installation) yet.

sprint id
On my HTC One, I went into apps, sprint ID and clicked on disable. My problems was solved. I had another issue with no volume control for phone calls...it was way too loud, sounded like on speaker.
Went into settings, phone and found the hearing aid assist was on. Unclicked it and problem solved.
Funny, spent three hours on the phone with two different HTC techs and neither of them could figure out the solutions....

update your profile and prl from settings and reboot. mine went thru hands-free activation after booting. i hit cancel. i havent received the message since. i have changed everything back the way i wanted and rebooted several times. still no message. granted that was only about 20 minutes ago so we'll see how tonight and tomorrow goes. hope this helps. hit thanks if it does :good:

Nope, updated both and rebooted. Still same thing. Keeps popping up until I force stop sprint Id. Then is goes away until I reboot.

wipe the cache partition from recovery then update profile. if that fails, then you'll probably have to factory reset, then go to settings/activate this device/reboot.

[Q] Issue! HTC One Crashing

Hi guys, i am kinda new here, hope i am on the right spot.
I recently bought a HTC One in the Netherlands. Its a beautiful phone! Already like it more then my rooted Xperia Z.
Today (The first day) i started installing my phone. Setted up some random things, untill i came at the Google account set-up. I already had one, so i chose that option. Then the first crash occured. The phone sent me to the screen i started 1 minute ago, the "Select language" screen.
I ignored that, and choose to set that up on an other moment.
When I tried to open Facebook, it showed me the logo, the logo moved up, but then it crashed and closed the application.
1 minute later, i tried to pull down the notification bar, but then my whole phone crashed! It rebooted.
I tried to update the phone software, didnt work. I also tried to do a hard reset, didnt work either.
The summary:
I cant set up an existing Google account, it crashes.
I cant open facebook, it crashed.
Sometimes, when i pull down the notification bar, it crashes.
Can someone help me out?
Excuse me for my grammer/typo's.
Lots of love.
Richard.

If you can get past the setup screens, do a full reset of the phone. But it sounds to me like the phone may have a manufacturing problem and needs to be returned for an exchange.

Hey Richurdt.
I know you're HTC One's issue was long resolved already. I wanna know how you fixed your issue. Because I have a very similar issue to yours before. I'm afraid that mine might be a hardware problem. I used my HTC One for almost 4mos then I had the same issues as yours came up.
I hope mine doesn't need to be returned to the store.

phone vibrates even when switched off! - please help

ok so i got my htc one a couple of days ago and it sees to have a serious problem!
Basically the phone goes through stages of random vibrating every few mins to full on constant vibrating like there is a fan or motor buzzing in there. It even does it if the phone is switched off! Ive just had an episode of it vibrating no stop for 10 mins, didnt make a difference when i switched it off or when i factory reset it!
It seems to overheat or something and only stopped doing it after i had just left it for a while. I have tried to speak with htc about it but they were useless and had no suggestions what soever.
I really need some help here, i bought the phone privately and to all intense purposes it seemed like brand new

SO you CAN NOT exchange the phone?
if not... root your phone and flash different rom that should resolve problem...at least give it a try!

No cant exchange it, only option i might have if i cant get the problem ressolved on here would be to send it to htc for repair but can take up to 2 weeks.
when i got the phone it was still on 4.1 and told me update available to 4.2 so i did that. Thats all i have done , apart from unlocking it from 02 using a code.
its almost like on a computer when its being worked hard etc that you here the fan cut in, thats what it seems like except it sounds like the buzz you get when you first start the phone. sometimes it does this just once every few mins or so, other times it will start doing it and not stop...even when switched off.....everything else on the phone seems to work fine

Did the device get wet at some point? Sounds like a hardware problem if a factory reset didn't solve the problem.
There's a slight chance it could be a real bad app or an issue with the rom. Maybe running a stock RUU for your device if you can find it might help.
Pretty sure it hasent got wet .
Would be happy to put stock Rom back on it but not sure how I go about reflashing it .
Don't know if this normal or not but when I did a factory reset I thought the device would be wiped completely, all my pictures and videos etc however when I set it back up again I found some videos on there still that I had downloaded to the phone off the net.
Maybe it's not wiping itself correctly either?

Resetting the device should wipe everything and bring it to the same condition as new.
Go to settings>>Backup & Reset>>Reset phone>>now check "Erase all data", then tap "OK".
If that doesn't work, try to do a factory reset from the bootloader.

Factory reset will wipe the device but leave the contents of the sdcard untouched which explains why your vids are still there
Appreciate the help guys, thankyou
So, is there any benifit to wiping the device completely over and above what I've done allready?
Today the phone has just done the odd sudden vibration as if you were just booting up, around 5 times in total, nowhere near as bad as last night, don't know why that would be.
Would it be possible to reflash standard firmware?
Is so how would I do it. Phone is completley standard and was in 4.1 prior to the ota update to 4.2, could 4.2 be the problem?

I'd try it. You can back up your pics and music on your PC via HTC Sync first.
Ok so I have tried it but no joy
Still getting the random buzzing/vibration for no apparent reason.
Could it be a bug with the update to 4.2.2?
Can I go back to 4.1?
I'm at my witts end with this now

Don't think it's a bug with 4.2.2 but a hardware issue.
Couple of other things to try ; download "CID Getter" from the play store, run it and find out your device's CID number. Now search on Google or xda for the RUU for your device's CID number. Download the RUU.exe to your pc, connect your phone to the pc and run the RUU.exe. This will bring the phone back to stock 4.1..
Or you can unlock the bootloader and flash another rom. Step by step instructions can be found on xda
Sorry, don't know of any easy solutions.

I have just followed a a video on here on how to unlock the bootloader and s-off and root - so now good to go
not sure how i put a new firmware on here now though..going to have to do a bit more reading....
i think to start with ill try downloading standard htc 4.1 rom when i can figure out which one it is and how i put it on and then go from there.
ok so just to update this....
last night i have tried the standard google edition rom on my phone and for the first few hours all seemed fine untill 4am this morning when i was woked by the phone doing its random vibrating thing...it was just sat by the side of my bed on charge
Can only think it must be a hardware issue now...but still dont know what or what is triggering it

You tried everything so it's has to be a hardware issue. Maybe the vibration starts when the device gets warm. Sorry we couldn't fix it.

My HTC one has been doing the same thing. Vibrating randomly even when powered down. Brought it back to Sprint and had them order me a new phone. The only way to stop it from vibrating when powered down was to bang it on a hard surface, then it would stop. Crazy!
Vibrating non stop
My HTC One had been vibrating cotinuously too. I kept slapping the upper part of the phone to stop it from vibrating. However, this worked for the initial few days only. Later, it continued to vibrate continuously without stopping at all ! In the night I left the phone in the other room while it was still vibrating and the next morning the phone wouldn't charge at all! Now the phone is not booting/ charging. It is dead! Any leads?
EDIT: I slapped the upper part again, it suddenly woke up from the dead! It is charging now, the LED is red too!! But it is still continuously vibrating. I have left it to charge as of now, but please help with this vibrating problem. Any ideas?
I've had the same issue with my M7 today.
There were no software updates or any new apps lately.
It all emerged when i was pressing the home button (to exit from some app) and at the same time an incomming call started.
I have tried:
switching it off - did not help
Changing volume setting silent\vibe\sound a couple of times - no effect
Soft reset - no help
Hard reset - no help
Slapping with upper side of the phone against my had - helped for some time, the it started again
Seems like hardware issue.
Currently working solution for me:
Switch off the option "Vibrate on keypress" in Settings ==> Sound & notification
UPD: had to turn off all the vibrations
So far so good. Apparently there is some issue with vibe motor, and it just does not stop. I assume that by disabling that option it is not getting started and thus no constant vibe follows.
UPD 2 Fixed:
Issue reoccurred on hitting the device against my palm.
Had to disassemble it, there are a couple of instructions on youtube, i used plastic cards.
Motor was spinning even with a switched off device. Had to unplug and plug the motor a couple of times and it helped.
Turned on all vibrations in settings, no issues so far.
Hope that helps.

Random reboots

My phone has been randomly rebooting about once every two days. I'm completely stock, not rooted. In the middle of the night last night while it was plugged in it rebooted about 4 times in a row, so I shut it off then restarted it in the morning. It's been doing fine so far today. I can't figure out how to reliably reproduce the reboots so I don't know how to go about testing whatever is causing it. It doesn't seem to be caused by any actions I perform (it's happened while I'm using the phone as well as while it's completely idle) Any suggestions? I know there's not much useful info to go off of here...
I keep sending the crash reports to HTC but I don't know what to look for in them. Anybody know how to interpret the crash logs?
Had one this morning. Rooted, but no changes.
And it just happened again. Phone was just sitting there with the screen off... I tried to copy and paste the error log but it wouldn't let me select all the text. The only app I have running in the background usually is Twilight. I'm going to try uninstalling that and seeing if it helps. The problem is the reboots happen randomly so I can't really tell if anything I change actually has an effect! Yarggghhh.
EDIT: Managed to get the error log here: http://pastebin.com/Xynv9qMP
Tried rebooting into Safe Mode, then a factory reset. Neither worked so I exchanged the device at a Sprint store. Hope this one works better!

Brand new Nexus 6 stuck in optimizing apps loop

Hey all, I recently got my nexus 6, and out of the box it worked fine. I started trying it out, and realized things were crashing quite often, like google play, and gmail. Then it prompted me to install the Android 5.1 update, which is when all this started.
Upon finishing the upgrade my nexus 6 cannot get past the Optimizing Apps screen, as soon as it gets onto the "Starting Apps" state, it will simply crash, and start over, booting again. This has been very frustrating since I just got this device and want to enjoy it. I have not rooted it, I have not tampered with it and the bootloader is locked. I tried cleaning the cache partition but that didn't help. So is anyone else experiencing this with their nexus 6? I really need a way to fix this, and if I have to flash the stock image onto it, then I will. But since the bootloader is locked is that even possible?
Please help me, I don't want to send it back in and wait another eternity.
Yes it's possible. However. Try a factory reset from recovery first.

I've done that a zillion times. It's not working, my phone refuses to get past the "Android starting..." screen. So if you could walk me through how to flash, since I couldn't find a guide online.
I called google support, and they want to replace it. So I'm gonna do exactly that.
I'm now on my third phone from google and they all do this. easily the worst customer service experience I've ever had in my entire life.

third? that makes it seem as you are the one thats not doing something right. just saying. one, ok, it happens. two, chances are very slim, but it can happen, mist likely wont. three, you are doung something wrong. if you factory reset, then it boots without android is upgrading. when you add apps, change apps, or change things in your system, or wipe dalvik, then android is upgrading happens.

DEFINATELY operator error...
they don't "all do this", otherwise the THOUSANDS of us here on XDA who flash things constantly without issue every day would be experiencing the same thing..

Data/profile

I don't remember doing anything to cause this. I went in to check settings after I had lost 4g/LTE data, it has been almost 15 days now. Never had ANY problems with LTE service until now. I have tried to change the values back to no avail. Tried the restore option, nothing. Spent 35 min on the phone with sprint guiding the tech. Through my issue.......he sent out a "refresh" as he put it.....nothing! I'm guessing that if I take my device in to a physical store they can handle it?
Anyone have any suggestions?

Try ##72786# from the dialer. When the menu pops up, choose reset in the top right corner. That should get you up and running again.
I have done that as well. No results.
I don't know if it will help or not, kinda doubt it, but I'm going to run an RUU

No problem. Only other suggestion is ##3282#, but you'll need your MSL code but if you're rooted won't work properly. Try the RUU, then if things are still jacked up, try ##3282# before rooting again. You can get your MSL via the MSL Reader app on the Play Store. It's a free app.
Yes sir, did that as well.
Ran RUU then did what you described. Values still empty. I'm just gonna bite the bullet and take it into sprint so they can reset my profile.
Thanks man.
