Is there a way to unroot back to stock yet ? - Sprint HTC One (M7)

Just wanted to know if there was a way to unroot and back to stock before I root
Thanks

I don't think that's an option right now. You can relock the device with
fastboot oem lock
But you need the RUU to do it all the way.

I thought the link may have explained it? you will need to use ADB to relock it then continue

Fastboot flash wcx recovery. Boot to wcx recovery. Then find the rooting option. It should work.

Security off or on. As far as I know, it lets you flash kernels from recovery instead of having to flash in fastboot mode with adb.
And my noobness gets worse.....what's the dif between a kernal and a Rom?

You'll need stock everything then
./revone -l
fastboot oem writesecureflag 3
Search for that, you should find a guide.

help noob here

I have an (branded At&T) GSM unlocked HTC One with bootloader unlocked. I didnt use lost the function of calc or sound recorder when unlocking that i have read. My question is will i still be able to receive OTA updates? and is there a very simple way to go back to stock or get the google play edition?
No OTA when bootloader is unlocked. To relock you need to be completely stock. To relock use all in one toolkit.. it's noobproof! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2183942

Why would you want ota updates when you have an unlocked bootloader?

I am completely stock except for the unlocked bootloader and it being GSM unlocked. So if i just relock the bootloader I will get the OTA updates? or do i need to flash a stock RUU?
I dont want to flash the device if i dont have to. I am afraid of bricking the device or messing something up. I rather have the updates be pushed to my phone via OTA either through HTC or ATT.

[Q] New HTCOne owner who is confused with rooting it, help!

Hi, I just got my HTCOne and I want to root it because I want flash a custom rom (ViperOneRom)
But coming from Galaxy S3 this rooting thing with HTCOne makes me all confused... So I have a few questions that I hope you can help me with
1. Do I need to Unlock Bootloader to be able to flash custom roms (or to root)?
2. Can I unroot and get my warranty back? I have seen several videos and tutorials but they get the "relocked" thing in the bootloader and I don´t think the warrenty will be back if thats still there.
3. Is there any easy and safe way to root and unroot the keep my warranty?
4. What is s-off and s-on, what do I need it for and what can I do with it? Do I need to change anything there when I root/unroot? Can it be changed back and forth?
Thanks in advance

Hello,
1. Yes, you will need an unlocked bootloader. Also to flash a recovery.
2. You can only get back to 'locked' if you are able to use revone s-off. Otherwise you can relock the bootloader.
3. You can get back to stock, but before flashing a different Rom check if they have an ruu or cwm zip for your device. But you cannot make it seem you haven't unlocked the bootloader without revone.
4. S-Off doesn't root the device. And most of it's features are explained (kinda) above.
5. You can check out my toolkit in my signature below if you would like an easy way of doing all this. or try it manually yourself.
Hope this helps!!

1. Yes
2. Yes, if you're s-off
3. Yes, plenty of tutorials and toolkits available, just search.
4. s-off will allow you to flash firmware, radio, change your CID, change bootloader status etc.
I suggest you read up and familiarise yourself on everything before you root.

You can use s-off without rooting. Also you can check if you can use it by rebooting into fastboot mode. And looking at the hboot version.
Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk
If you have hboot 1.44 you can s-off. This means you'll be able to turn off the tampered flag and lock the boot loader. You can also flash any RUU to return to stock. If you're on hboot 1.54 you have to use HTCDev to unlock the boot loader and will only be able to relock it. You will also have to use RUUs that match your CID, and they will need to be the same or newer than your current firmware.
Read up on s-off though, it may sound good, but it also greatly increases your ability to brick the phone.

My HBoot is version 1.54... Does this mean I am f**ked? No way to root and go back to warranty if I want?
Find someone with a java card, or accept the possibility that rooting may void your warranty.

There's rumors that the Revolutionary team is making progress on 1.55, but as I said no one can tell you if it's going to happen until it does.
