help me please - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

i've just installed a recovery and i'm stuck on STEP 3 ROOT how do i get supersu on my phone

1) You have to write here.
2) For flash the SU, download it, copy it into recovery with mount usb and flash it.

Or you can use GOOmanager to download it and install from recovery. It places it on you sd

Not able to ROOT

After getting a boot-loop issue I was finally able to use a jig to get into download mode and flash back to stock. Now I am not able to root. I get this message when i try the one-click root or if I use the old way of placing the update zip on the root of the sdcard and booting into recovery using ADB as my 3 button is broken. When i click on install packages I get a message about not able to open update.zip(bad)
I get this message if I use an update.zip that I had or the one just downloaded tonight.
I would really like to root and flash di11is5.6 back to my phone. Please help.

You do not need to root
dl this

Dl rom
Put both on internal sd, boot recovery, reinstall packages, repeat, install zip from sd, choose zip, rom, confirm, enjoy
That is a great rom

is it possible flash a rom without s-off?

as the title, my phone couldnt get into adb to get s-off
You need either HTC Dev unlock
or revolutionary s off to flash a custom ROM
That's the simple explanation

You can
And make sure you fast boot flash your boot.img as well
Sent from my Nexus 7
If you're unlocked through htc dev, just flash custom recovery (4ext touch recommended) and you can flash custom roms after that.
Just make sure to flash boot.img through adb as said by mark. Always do this after flashing new rom when you are s-on.

Every time you flash a new ROM or kernel you need to open up the zip of the new ROM and fast boot flash it, otherwise it probably wont boot unless there is a similar kernel already

Go here

Download one of those, I have the free one and it will install the recovery itself if you follow the instructions

If you use the app to install recovery, make sure to extract the recovery.img file in the downloaded zip and manually flash that through fastboot. Only have to do this while s-on

no sir i nothing do in this phone i dont know how to root
and i have no custom recover
and i give u some information about this phone
model number=android dev phone 1
firmwer ver =1.5
basband version=62.33.20.08H_1.22.12.29
KERNEL VERSION=2.6.27-00392-G8312BAF
BUILD NUMBER=DREAM_DEVPHONE-USERDEBUG 1.5 CRB2114201 TEST-KEY
then you are already rooted, that is a developers phone which is pre rooted. you need to load a custom recovery (amonra is best in my opinion) and should also upgrade you radio and spl, google cyanogen wiki root dream, in that guide you will see a link for amonra, downloaded to sdcard, rename it recovery.img
now download a terminal emulator from the market, open it and type
flash_image recovery/sdcard/recovery.img
wait a few seconds then reboot to recovery
if that works then you can move on from there

Just use "search " to find the busybox in zip file which you can flash it thru recovery. Good luck.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
there won't be any cwm app or busybox app. cwm is a recovery mode u enter by pressing vol up+pwr+home
just try some app that requires root access to check if u have the right access permissions
Thanks Guys!!!
Thanks for the info.. It helped :good:
no problem...

I've never had any luck with good manager. I've written it off. I use TWRP Recovery myself, which I believe is the recovery you're talking about? I judt download it directly from TeamWin's website.
I feel like a broken record....
In the apps and themes section there is flashimagegui... It will correctly flash kernels and recovery on s-on devices

Same thing with ROM manager. Its just screws up your phone
As Ess said, dl thru TWRP site and flash thru ADB tools. Works a treat
