There used to be an option that would keep the screen on while charging, incredibly useful when in the car dock, but it's missing from what I can tell. Any solutions for this, or maybe help me find it if I'm blind?

Uhm, I don't see it anywhere in there. Have you looked on this phone?
Its not there on stock ATT roms. The custom roms have it.
Yes, it's there on mine...it's the 2nd option down (Stay Awake). See screenshot attached.

What version/type do you have, because it's most certainly not there on Sprint's.
Ah, that may explain it then. I have the SIM free version from the UK.
Don't really know much about Sprint phones. Maybe you'd get a more reliable answer from the 'Sprint HTC One forum'.
But I'm guessing they probably removed the option if you can't find it anywhere. Check the Sprint forum, there may be a mod over there to re-enable the option.

Stay Awake option not in ATT rom, looked all over for it. It is not in Developer options at all.
It was also removed from the 401.12 firmware update

Just checked.... it's also missing from the TrickDroid 5.1.0 as well. I ended up at this thread because I've been searching for a way to set the screen on while charging. I'm sure it was taken out for a good reason (one would assume) but I really do miss it.
Missing from my Developer Edition. WTF
Yea.... who the hell made that decision and thought it was a good one?

I couldn't find the flashlight app on my phone, not sure why it wouldn't be included it's very handy to have. I have also liked the HTC one. I couldn't find anything posted about in the Sprint forums here so figured I would post this since Sprint & HTC decided not to include it. I'm not taking credit for ripping the apk, I just coundn't find it anywhere here. Found this posted over at Android Central, suppose to be the HTC flashlight that is included with the international version of the one. I tested it on my Sprint one works just fine.

No problem, I know I came looking for it here first & didn't see anything about it. The evo LTE didn't come with it either if I remember right. I think you had to download it from HTC hub which I don't think htc hub is on this phone.

I had on the EVO 3D but after an updated they removed along with the mirror app, and had to download it from the HTC hub. I don't see the hub on this phone.
I had been wondering about this. Thanks!

Can you create one for the calculator? I'm missing that on my HTC ONE after unlocking bootloader. Thanks!

Thanks! Installed right away, blinded myself 2 seconds later. Good to have it back

Nope. It may just be a few phones like that because some didn't have the calculator app. I had that one though

Yeah, possibly. Or maybe your phone was previously someone else's, and they unlocked the bootloader for you! I don't remember if my phone had the flashlight app straight out of the box, but I know it had the calc.
the ONE i use (sprint) is stock, stock rom and no bootloader unlock. i HAD the calculator installed and i did NOT have the flashlight. bought it full price from sprint.com. no hands touched it before me other than the HTC workers at the factory.. :silly:
Thanks! I'm 100% stock too (locked bootloader) and didn't have it.

Ok then;
which applications after unlocking the bootloader are removed?
I have the flash light and calculator (both downloaded trough here) but, is any other app removed after u/b?
There any way to change the layout of the power bar in the Viper ROM?

Become a dev yourself.
Look, the dev scene is just starting out. The phone hasn't even been out a month. Give it some damn time. There is no point in calling a devs work dumb just because it's missing one feature you would like to have. Especially this early in the game. They do this for free, they get nothing out of releasing their work, so you learn to code and add in the features you want, or suck it the **** up, cupcake.

holy **** bro, chill the eff out, i did dig into it and find what I wanted, if you had read deeper down, you'd realize this.
Oh, and if I feel the need to learn the ins and outs of the application side of an os I can easily replace with linux, maybe i will become an android dev, but for now, i'll work on porting ubuntu to this phone,
Is that okay with you?
One more thing, when someone asks 'is this possible' and someone else says 'no' i take that as 'not yet'. I was basically saying 'that's dumb' to his response, not the fact that the app lacks functionality (which i understand will come in time, i develop bro, for posix based systems)

far from being correct by the way... the 'dev scene' has been around since punch cards and core memory.
What version of Viper are you on? I don't have the WiFi teather in any of my drop downs on 1.1.0. I only see it in my app drawer. It can grab it and place it in the home screens, but as a widget I done see it in any of the power controls or other multi system function toggle bars.
Like you mentioned I can freeze it from TB or simply uninstall it.

Are you talking about EQS? If so, this might work for ViperRom since I believe EQS was ported from Torxx rom. Of course you would use files from viperrom not trickdroid

Is there a kernel for the Sprint variant that allows you to enable the back and home button to light up when notifications come through phone? I know there's one for the GSM version but haven't seen one for CDMA version yet.
Wrong section should be Q&A
As for your question I don't think so ATM

Faux's kernel does this, no? You may need his app to turn it on though.

No. And at least you asked. It's much easier to answer a yes or no question then to try to lead someone back after they messed up their phone.
Check out the Verizon One Development section.
Though I haven't looked in a while, so I don't know how much development is being done with locked bootloaders and what-not.
Good luck.

There was actually an exploit that came out today for the verizon one that does s off, roots and unlocks the boot loader so I was looking around for roms and there are some good ones for the verizon one but there are definitely more here. I'm guessing verizon one development will pick up though.
Now that you have an exploit it should. Many of these Roms will probably be ported over.

Just for my edge today. Had M7 for the last two years. One item that is bugging me is in my notification bars there is one that treks me the WiFi I am connected to. Not in the top bar but notification bar. How do I get rid of this? I can not swipe it away. Thanks

And to that I must say, Welcome to Android from AT&T where we lock BL's for no reason and take away features that many would call useful. Don't hold your breath. Even if root is by some miracle achieved don't expect any roms because it more than like just won't happen.

Crap. Add ATT from the start with Android and all my devices I have rooted with custom roms. Guess they have these Samsung ones really locked down?
It's not just Samsung, I think the LG G3 and Moto X may have a locked BL as well. I know HTC M8/9 doesn't.

Wrong. HTC phones come locked boot loaders just like the rest. The difference is that HTC provides a tool so you can unlock. IMO all manufacturerers should do this but I don't think any will until HTC starts taking a lot more of their business and that's obviously not going to happen this year with the M9 being such a evolutionary upgrade and all other companies going all out trying to make the best phone ever made.
Just my .02

Sorry, about saying HTC phones didn't have a locked BL. I forgot since I haven't had one in a while and you are right, they allow you to unlock via a tool you get from their website.
