Hi Guys
I really hope someone can help me!
I've searched the forums and can't find anyone else with my problem.
I flashed ICS stunner and that was working fine.
Then I tried LiquidSmooth and eventually got that working fine.
Then I tried to go back to ICS Stunner and this is where my problems start.
I had some failed flashes with CWM and I think I've messed up the kernel.
I tried to sort this out by flashing back to pre-rooted GB rom so I could reinstall CF Kernel.
The flash in Odin appears to complete successfully, but afterwards phone just goes into bootloop at Samsung boot animation.
As I flashed back to pre-rooted stock rom I don't have recovery.
As far as I can find, to install a kernel I will need to either boot into android (which I can't due to bootloop) or install through CWM (which I can't as no longer have CWM)
Can anyone help?
Try factory reset from stock recovery.

Turn off your phone, press and hold the three following buttons together for more than 10 seconds: Volume up button + Home button + Power button
That is if you are having bootloops after flashing Gingerbread using PC Odin coming from ICS
Sorry, I know this post is really old, i have the exact same issue. I dont have a home button so what can i use instead of that? also when it try to boot into recovery it just shows the open android logo.

You do not have the same issue because here nobody spoke of a missing home button.
So: What do you mean? Your home button is broken? Or you do have a device without home button?
After this is clear we can start to analyze your problem.

Hi guys,
First of all m a noob here and got here after doing alot opf research on google but have not find any solution yet. I have got a major issue with Galaxy note, never been rooted.
So I have been using ICS on my Galaxy Note for almost a month now, and a week ago, I saw a message telling me that an update had been downloaded and the phone would be rebooted to install the update.
I clicked the OK button in the dialog box, and my phone did reboot but is now stuck at the flashing Samsung logo (after the initial musical animation, which incidentally was terminated midway). The phone got quite hot after about 20 minutes, so I switched it off by pressing the power button. Then I switched it back on after a while, and it was stuck at the flashing Samsung logo. N now its stuck there..
Restart does not work...
Recharging does not work...
Battery swap does not work..
I contacted the service center, they say they will flash the firmware but all the data will be lost and also they are not taking this in WARRNTY.
Can anyone help me with this please.. its been dead for a week now.
sorry for bad english
re:
Also tried POWER OFF+VOL UP+HOME .. a android green logo comes up. but again phones goes to samsung logo and stucks...
however,POWER OFF+VOL DOWN+HOME button gets me to a yello triangle logo and asks if you want to install custom rom...
Please help me guys...!!

where you using the stock kernel itself on ICS?
do the latter..
boot to download mode, then try to flash your phone back to GB using PC ODIN. Once it's in stock GB, work your way up again to ICS. And oh by the way.. sorry to tell you this, but I don't think you can recover back your data after since this process will erase everything on your phone.

Ok, Thanks again John.
i have i more doubt. The stock rom thread says "Install Kies on your computer, connect your phone and make sure that all the drivers installed correctly". i have installed kies but when i connect my phone to it, it gives me Mtb driver bot installed properly error.. would it create a problem?
Yes it would.. try to completely uninstall and reinstall Kies and try later on, to plug your phone again.

Thanks again Bro,,!!
Sure! no fret! you can do it.. have confidence in yourself bud.
By the way.. don't forget my sig below?
Hi,
I rooted my note some weeks ago and I was searching the web, reading all kind of threads and thinking what the problem might be for the last weeks. Finally I decided to register myself on xda and to post my problem.
Like mentioned before I rooted my note via CMW and then flashed a franco kernel, unfortunally I dont know which version, but no custom rom. It all worked fine for 14 maybe 16 hours, then the phone froze after opening a app and after that it stuck at the Galaxy Note N7000 logo. I tried to enter recovery but it didn't work, I can enter downloadmode but I ran out of battery before I could do anything.
Now the phone keeps turning itself on and off the whole time when I try to charge it, the battery image comes for like 1 second and after that the screen turns black again. The battery itself is new so that shouldnt be the problem. I charged it like that for like 4 hours and then tried to enter downloadmode but it only says "battery to low to download".
I hope it is not a hardware problem. If anybody has a idea please help me, I am getting desperate.
Greets
weasl
EDIT: I came from offical 4.0.4 ICS
How old is your phone? Try with another good battery.
Suggestion: you may flash gb via PC Odin and check phone back to normal.

I got my phone last april, so it is not even a year old, but I got a new battery some days before rooting it... I'll try/have to get another one anyway.
Could you give me a link for a stock gb rom please.
Thank you for your quick reply.
Kindly go thru Guru 'drketan' threads and posts.

Found it. Should I use a rom with three parts or with only one? And can I use any rom or one with a special "code" that suits my device, e.g. german....
And just flash the rom and then fullwipe or is wiping not necessary?
I am sorry for the questions but I want to do everything right.
You can use any. Wipe in GB recovery.
Thanks a lot.
Yesterday I finally found somebody to charge my battery, today I flashed a GB stock rom, but I still can`t get any further than the Samsung Galaxy Note logo... It worked one time but I turned the phone off to insert my sim card and it got stuck again.
I tried flashing with pit file and bootloader as well, but no luck.
Could it be a hardware problem? Could a J-tag repair fix it?
Thanks in advantage.

Now your on safe GB rom, enter recovery wipe cache, factory reset, wipe dalvick cache.
Let's know the result
I tried, but I am not able to enter recovery... I press volume up + home + power but I only get the N7000 logo. I have read that you have to press the home button in the right moment to enter stock recovery, could somebody tell if that is true and if yes when do I have to press?
Anyone an idea please? I can enter download mode but not recovery, I downgraded to gb 2.3.6.KK5, I flashed abyss 4.2 but I can get to recovery mode or past the GT N7000 logo. Three times it got to the "package installing" page and one time it even started then I switched it off to insert my sim card and again stuck at the N7000 logo.
I need help please...

You have to press the three button combo "a long time" and the power button should be the last one to use.
I always wait until the Samsung Logo appeared 2 times and I see the next animation (depends on your kernel/recovery).
So please try again and hold the three buttons longer.
I flashed the 3-part lc1 gb and did a full wipe. The phone now starts sometimes but gets stuck at the n7000 logo most of the time. When it starts the whole UI feels very laggy, eg. while typing. Recovery mode started one time out of 1000 tries. I am afraid that something with my hardware is wrong. Any ideas? Could a Jtag be a solution? Please help.
try again to get into recovery and do a factory reset from Gb recovery..
press it until you get to recovery. DO NOT remove your fingers when you see n7000 bootlogo. keep pressing . keep pressing. keep pressing.

I made it in the recovery, did another fullwipe, but it still lags while typing or opening/closing an app and still does not boot proper, I have to try several times to get past the logo screen and it works only when I go in downloadmode and boot from there. Entering the recoverymode still only works randomly. Any idea?
Edit: it also lags while scrolling down/up

In all you posts here you never wrote exactly what version of which Rom you installed in whatever way.
That's why I'm still not convinced that you have "defined state" and giving good advice is try&error.
So please start telling: how did you flash, what GB or ICS or JB version, Stock Rom or Custom Rom.
,Sorry, I flashed the n7000xxlc1 - open europe with odin PC, stock, prerooted and in 3 parts. After that I did a fullwipe, the phone turns on after a few tries, most time after I go in download mode and restart from there. It lags while it is on, like short freezes, I tried to install the OTA update to ICS but failed.
Before that I was stuck on the Samsung Galaxy Note logo after flashing a franco kernel via CWM (I am not sure which version but it came with the guide to root, so I thought it could not be bad)
Edit: I flashed the xxlsc 4.1.2 jelly bean offical leak via odin PC, and I still have the same problems. I takes 5-6 reboots to actually start the device and it is very laggy, almost unusable. Every second or so it freezes for short time.
Any help please? I would send it to someone to do a JTAG repair if this could help. I just dont want to waste the money, so if anyone has experienced a problem like this please help me.
Is this a brick revived phone?
A friend asked me to repair her phone, it seems that some guy tried to carrier-unlock it and some other guy tried to flash a Firmware for other model. When the phone got back to her it was broken. So she gave a bricked phone to me and asked me to repair it.
Well the thing seems to be soft-bricked, it's stuck in a bootloop, it displays the samsung logo twice, turns off and then on again until batery's removed.
It won't go into recovery (HOME+POWER), but it works in DOWNLOAD mode.
I tried flashing the stock firmware for the phone (S-5830), I even tried with the version for my country and original carrier. It won't work, ODIN gets to flash all the files, then reboots the phone and It's in bootloop again! Tried some other firmwares, none works or goes into recovery.
Also tried flashing ClockWork Recovery via ODIN, no luck. It won't go into recovery for doing the wipes.
So right now I'm scratching my head. I'm noob with samsungs, I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or it's just that this phone is broken.
If this guy messed with the EFS file, that may be the reason it's in bootloop? Is there any solution?
EDIT: THE MODEL IS s5830 SORRY FOR THE MISTAKE! I USED THE RIGHT FIRMWARE!
PD: SORRY FOR MY POOR ENGLISH, I'M SPANISH. THE PHONE SSN IS S5830GSMH original carrier: ORANGE
Thanks you very much!!

I tried newest and oldest firmwares. I don't know what the latest version of Odin is, I tried 4,38. Still not working..
BTW I FOLLOWED EVERY SINGLE GUIDE I FOUND FOR UNBRICKING AND FLASHING, AND I CAN'T GET THE THING TO WORK.
Use Odin v4.42, install the drivers properly and flash the stock. After seeing the pass option in Odin, disconnect your phone from pc which will be stuck in a boot loop. Now, take off battery, put it back in, reboot into recovery ( power + home button, release power button when something appears on screen. ) & select factory reset option ( volume key to move up and down, home button to confirm and power button to go back to previous menu ). Now select reboot system now. Done !!
Hit thanks if I helped...!

NOPE. Tried with that Odin version, it finish flashing, PASS, reboots and the screen is flashing (doesn't show battery loading) until I unplug.
I remove the battery, put it back again, HOME+POWER but still in bootloop, it won't get into Recovery!!
It just flashes Samsung logo twice, reboot, flashes again, reboot... Stuck there, no recovery!! I already flashed this device dozens of times with different firmwares, Stock, Carrier locked, custom, etc... NONE ALLOWS ME TO GO INTO RECOVERY FOR THE WIPES
Go to the service centre, they'll fix the problem for you.

Hi guys,
First of all sorry for my English.
I have a big problem after upgrading (l always did it without any problem until now) to New stable release (20141018) of CM11.0 (by NovaFusion) for S3 Mini via TWRP. Everything gone well until I rebooted the phone (as the installer asked to). Now, my phone has a boot looping and the TWRP doesn’t boot either - just stuck on at “teamwin” logo (recovery's logo). It seems, my phone is dead and has a hard brick. The only thing what is working on it is offline charging. PC doesn't recognise my phone via USB.
Please help me - what can I do in this case? Or my phone is incorrigible and the only thing I can do is throw the phone into the trash?
Thank you for your help!
Best Regards,
Barni
