Hi,can anyone tell me what is the main difference between Stock Kernel and the Eternity kernel (battery life, wifi, bugs?) Thanks.
wifi under cm doesn't work
no video streaming under stock
better battery life (user reported 300% ) on stock

Another problem, shadowgun thd force closes, both on stock and cyan version

300% ?
yeah someone here on xda reported that I also don't believe in so much - but I guess it's better

My Wifi working well...
The Youtube bug is fixed with the latest nightly(users reported that vids could only play 1:27 min)
yes, my wi-fi is working well. im under the latest nightly. haven't noticed any weird bugs.
i wan't to flash the kernel on cm10.1 but if i don't like the kernel, can i flash the normal kernel back from cm10.1
Guys, are you saying your wifi is working well with EPRJ kernel on CM 10.1 nightly ? Are you sure ? If you format /system or reflash a ROM after flashing kernel you'll be back on cm's kernel... Could you show a screenshot of your kernel on system settings, wifi activated ?

V20a stock ;
I tried but not boot.
Because of i changed UI and framework for G add ons.
So not working with G add ons.
I flashed the eternity kernel over a v 20A, then got this boot loop stuck on the lg animated logo, plus a white screen instead of the update mode screen, so i can't flash using kdz anymore.. Luckily i have CWM installed, so i flashed the kernel for CM, flashed CM10.1 and google apps and phone is fine now.. Except when i go into update mode i still get this white screen, so i still cant flash using kdz..
I guess the solution is to find stock kernel .zip or stock v20a rom .zip so that to flash them via CWM.. Any ideas where to find them?

if you removed your battery when going into s/w upgrade mode, put it back in. usb ports usually don't have enough power for mobile, which results in white screen.

This only happened after installing the eternity kernel which makes me quite convinced its the reason behind that malfunction.. Any help finding my stock kernel?

if you managed to flash CM, you already changed the kernel (flashing CM flashes CM's official kernel aswell), so it's not kernel problem. something else must be the issue

Hello
I'm very keen to install and try this ROM, but I'm having a strange issue. I flash Phil's kernel first, reboot recovery, wipe and install which all goes fine. When aroma install is complete and phone reboots I get the white Samsung screen for 30 seconds or so then phone seems to reboot itself, screen goes black briefly then Samsung logo reappears for a second and I get dumped back into Phil's CWM recovery.
I have checked MD5 of ROM download, no problem there. I've tried different versions of the install from aroma (lite version etc). Not really sure what I'm doing wrong. No one else in his thread has reported problems like mine. Anyone with ideas?

Well turns out the md5 didn't match up. I had checked it after downloading and all was good, but something must have gone wrong on copying it over to my SD card. My fault. Up and running now though and it's a great ROM!

I'm the proud owner of a non-rooted SGSA and I am having a couple issues I couldn't get my head around so I was hoping that you guys could give me a hand.
My phone's csc was MTL (not my country's csc) and since I couldn't find any JB version made especially for this csc I flashed one released for my country (COA). It ran really smooth for a couple of weeks but every once in a while my systemUI keeps freezing ,or I get some really annoying lag spikes while performing easy tasks like messaging through the stock app or browsing my contact list.
Now, should I flash some other version of JB , a more stable one, if there is such thing, or should I go ahead and root my device?
Would rooting help me out, and by that I'm asking you to tell me whether there are any stable custom ROMs and/or kernels that I could use? (this is where my inner noob kicks in, I'm pretty helpless )
Thanks a bunch !
P.S. I did try to search for answers but I couldn't find anything useful.
Root I would say is a much better answer to your problem.
Root your phone, flash cocore kernel and debloat your system ie remove unwanted files. This will definetely boost up your phones speed and your phone won't freeze.
If you want to.. you can also try CynogenMod 10.1

I tried this combination a few days ago and, lags was like hell!!
mannulko, I recommend cm10.1, cause aside from some annoying things such as low volume in call, it's very stable, but you could try some custom roms out there, you could try first version of harsh jelly with any of the cocore kernel, just try different versions and see which one suits you!!!

cm has its own kernal.so wen u r flashing another rom after cm, need to install kernal also.in ur case u can use COCORE E 7 OR 8 by cocafe.
so before flashing do factory reset , cache partition and dalvik cache.flash the rom , wen complete flash the kernel also. and it will take hardly 10 min. if no luck then better redownload the rom using any download manager

If flashing kernel doesn't work
You can always try to flash stock few through Odin
Or have a backup of any stock with you
You need to be on stock based rom (kernel must be stock) to install another stock based rom. Only way you can install some stock based rom over cm is if that rom has embended stock kernel (or some mod of it like cocore). If you install it over cm kernel you will end up with bootloop. So now it is best to flash stock fw with odin, root, install cocore and than this rom. Or with Universal kernel flash, install cocore from cm and copy rom before booting to recovery. You will not be able to boot into cm after installing cocore. And you must unzip kernel.bin.md5 from cocore zip to be able to install it with Universal kernel flash.
