Root 32 gb unlocked in same way? - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys,
I received my HTC one today morning and I wish to root it and unlock the bootloader. My question is do I root and unlock the bootloader in the similar way as international one is done?
I will unlock my bootloader from htcdev. But what about rooting procedure?

Quick Question

Hey guys, I just got the HTC Raider here in Canada on Rogers. I wanna know do I have to unlock the bootloader in order to root? Or is there a way to root without unlocking bootloader?
Thanks to everyone and anyone who can advise
Not at the moment, too root you have to flash a .zip through recovery so you will need to unlock your bootloader in order to gain root.
Hey Mr Patchy Patch, remember you from the X10 days.

The HTC Vivid (AT&T) option should work. Haven't heard any problems with any Bell users unlocking through HTC dev and selecting HTC Vivid.

Nope, if the Unlock code is unsupported then it will tell you and won't allow you to continue.

I have a raider and I had no issue unlocking. From what I heard if we do get s-off it should be effected by us doing the HTC unlock.

Unlocked bootloader....rooted device....all is good....bloatware removed.....lots of stuff frozen for testing.
I'm happy now

How to S-Off after ICS update

Hey guys, my HTC Incredible S today gets an ICS OTA update. I have updated it. The version has become 4.0.4.
I have never S-Off or Root my device at all. My Hboot 2.02 and locked. Now I want to root my device.
Can anyone tell me how many ways I can S-Off my device? Are there any other ways beside HTCDev Unlock?
I'm looking forward to hearing from you guys soon.
There is a guide in development called All in one for noobs made by me. That's as easy as your gonna get if you want s off

Thanks for your reply. I have read through your post. However, I saw the topic is for 1.16 and 2.0. That's why I feel reluctant whether my hboot is 2.02 which is higher than the topic you posted.
So you mean I can do it by your instructions?

Well since you have upgraded your HBOOT to 2.02.0002, the HTCDEV unlock method is your only choice right now. The tacoroot exploit that is used with the downgrade script does not work with HBOOT 2.02.0002.
Can you tell me how to get s-off after unlocking by HTCdev? As I know, it just unlock the device, cut the security is still on.

With the HTCDEV option you will be able to install custom recovery and then root the current ROM by installing su-3.1.3.zip, but you will not gain S-OFF.
Technically there is a difference, but people tend to use the terms interchangably.
Thank you for your suggestions.

You cant get the **LOCKED** status back. you can only get **relocked** state which i think puts your warranty back in action.
Use ADB and type this command "fastboot oem lock" (Without "s)
Keep in mind that re-locking your bootloader with a custom rom installed will give you a **security warning!** that will lock your phone into bootloader and not reboot(read: make unusable ) and remain that way until you run an ruu that is your current firmware or newer. Unlocking bootloader?

I have noticed that s-off could be coming soon. But I've got itchy fingers and want to unlock my one
If I unlock the bootloader via HTC dev and s-off becomes available can I change the unlocked to locked again? So this doesn't affect any warranty?

Hi
greetings.
yes that is possible you can revert back to LOCKED. but after you achieve S-OFF
That's good. Had the one x before and unlocked the bootloader n never had any warranty problems but just wanted to be sure if something was to go wrong with this phone I could hide the unlocked
Thanks for clearing that up
