[Q] Can't be detected on computer - LG Thrill 4G

I have an LG Thrill I only assume its a 4G but I have no 3G/4G network just wifi, texting & calling and the usual GApps etc. that come preinstalled the problem is:
I was on 2.3.5 GB but I used Megatron to root it then used terminal emulator to install CwMR, from there I installed Cyanogemod 7 20121202 NIGHTLY P925 which took away all network activity (calls & texts) and it is not being detected by my computer whether/not USB debugging is activated or in USB transfer mode, either so I can't restore it, I've manually installed the USB drivers but still no detection.
I just want to go back to the way it was before I installed CM7, if it matters, this is not a contract phone, I got a free POS phone from LifeWireless and brought this phone (LG-P925) into the same place and they transfered my free plan from the POS to this 1, the carrier logo always said Pure GSM, if its possible to get the service working again, I'll stay on CM7 otherwise....

Sometimes a restart of your computer is necessary for the phone to be recognized. I've spent hours trying to reconnect my phone to the computer only to restart it and have it connect first time.
On cyanogen 7 you have to use the p920 version or change your baseband to v10e.
Or you can use the lg updater tool to get to ICS.
A quick search on this forum in the android development section would provide links and software to do this. Hope this helps you out.

android-wired-tether on Hero

Hey guys, I've installed android-wired-tether on my Hero but it doesn't seem to connect to my computer (win7 32bit). Am I missing something here? Should I install the kernel update? But I'm still on Android 1.5 but and not 1.6.
Help.
Thanks.
Try PdaNet
I have found that PdaNet for Android ( http://www.junefabrics.com/android/index.php ) works fine as a Tether, but if you use the HTC Sync program, PdaNet will tell you that it has found an incompatable file and that you must uninstall HTC Sync before PdaNet will work properly.
Since I don't require my Hero to act as a modem, I opt'd to keep the HTC Sync program which I use almost daily.
I also used PdaNet on my old Windows based MotoQ. Worked perfectly as a modem.
GL!!
Not sure if it the same for the USA model but the UK version of the Hero's manual says it can be used as a mobile broadband modem for a PC ("tethered") straight out of the box, with no need for any additional software.
The instructions in my manual say
1. Make sure your phone’s data connection is turned on.
2. Connect the phone to the computer using the provided USB cable.
3. Press HOME > MENU, and then tap Settings > Wireless controls.
4. Select the Mobile network sharing check box.
You do need to have HTC sync installed on your computer as well.

As has already been said, if you've a UK Hero, it supports wired tethering out of the box as long as you install HTC Sync.
Vis-a-vis Android 1.5 - all the latest official HTC ROMs are Android 15. There are no official releases of any later version of Android as yet.

[Q] Samsung Galaxy S 19000M MAJOR problems, bad kernal, bad ROM...HELP:(

Hey guys I been having a huge problem with my Samsung Galaxy S 1900M its currently locked with Bell/Virgin Canada. I bought it off of some 2nd hand company. The phone was sold as is saying that it was unable to connect to the computer, (computer does not recognize it at ALL). I bought the phone amusing it was a ROM load problem. It came to me rooted and in almost perfect condition so I was quite happy with my purchase considering I paid $180 USD ($170 CAD). I tried connecting to the computer using the USB that came with the phone, and as stated it does not recognize it at all on ANY Windows/Linux base PCs. I also have another Samsung USB cable that I know works, I tired that as well...no success.
So I am assuming who ever loaded a ROM did not know what they were doing. So I have been searching all over the internet/google, XDA forums and Q&A and everyone point to loading a new kernal....BUT here is where it gets weird. Who ever had this phone previous did not flash a new kernal when updating and put the 3e recovery on the phone, WHICH MEANS I cannot flash any new: Kernals, OR ROMS using the CWM, which btw I am pretty sure isn't working properly because it goes into the base recovery mode with limited options, ex. reboot, sdcard update.zip, wipe cashe, format sdcard...nothing else.
Which brings us back to the original problem, I can not connect to the PC for ODIN to work its magic on the kernal....Please help....
Here is the current load,
Firmware Version: 2.2
Baseband: 19000UGJK4
Kernal Version: 2.6.32.9 shout.leeSEP-09 #1 ( I have never heard of this?)
Build: FROYO.UGJK4
may be a issue with drivers dont quote me though, i had to update drivers after flashing and updateing my galaxy s, as i had simular issue with odin, by not reconize, do you mean windows wont even detect the phone added, or is it connect and nothing? does the phone charge when connected to the pc ?
The phone does charge, but even with the Samsun Keis app, and having the proper Sumsung drivers it still wont even detect the phone. I even went to Device Manager and searched for new hardware/device. I also tried putting it into download mode, and connecting Odin. Windows still wont even detect it. I think its a problem with the kernal....for both issues...
Fixed the problem, hope this helps for others.
Just following up on this as I figured out what to do on my own in case anyone else has this issue.
It was quite simple actually, the kernal was faulty, and so was the ROM that was loaded just as I anticipated
1st:The person that previously owned the phone loaded FROYO custom build that was taken from a leaked version prior to the official release and had no USB support, therefore being unable to connect to the computer.
2nd: The kernal was a custom build and had a 3e recovery built into it and was not able to load any un-verified files(unofficial ROMS, firmwares, updates etc.), therefore I was not able to load a new ROM to fix the first problem, stated above, and visa versa.
I found a program on the market place called "kernal manager", I downloaded the PRO version by searching Google on the computer for the .apk file, I then copied the .apk file onto my external 2 GB SD card and ran the .apk file through the phone. I then opened "kernal manger pro" and opened the menu button, then hit search for kernals. A list of different models of phones came up, I browsed down to my handset maodel (Samsung Galaxy s 19000), press on it, and got a list of kernals. I took each top rated and downloaded kernal listed, did a little research on the internet and found one of them to be suitable. I then went back to the phone chose that kernal through "kernal manager", it asked me to flash then reboot, I hit yes, it then begun the process, and when finished reboot on its own. I then reboot into recovery again after the kernal had loaded and the first reboot and found that the new kernal had succsefully been flashed. I then was able to go about as I please. I uploaded a cm7.zip file to the external sd card, put it in the phone, boot to recovery browsed to the file, and ran it having complete success.
I am now happily running Cyanogen 7. Hope this helps anyone that needs it. Any questions just ask

[Q] Please help, ODIN is not recognizing my phone at all

Ok, I was at the stock Froyo 2.2 update yesterday and saw 2.3.5 GB and installed using ODIN. There's a couple of aggravating features, mainly every time I plug in via usb or AC, the tethering process crashes. I don't even use tethering and don't know how to disable this process.
Anyways, all I want to do is return to the stock AT&T froyo. I've tried several one click packages for ODIN to return to stock, I CAN get into download mode, but once its plugged into the PC it says its installing device drivers, then it always fails. I tell Windows to search, and of course it can't find any.
How can I get this to work again, all I want is my 2.2 back

[Q] Incompatible Handset Message AND UK ICS Download

Two questions in one thread and the first has been bugging me for sometime and i'm fed up of working around it;
First issue: When i switch on my Optimus 2X P990 i am greeted with the popup message saying 'incompatible handset' with two option of okay or cancel. If i click either of these or leave the message time out, I loose all signal and it will not come back unless i reboot the device. The way i am getting past this is upon the message popping up i press the back capacitive button.
This happens on every rom i have tried (MIUI, CM, Eagles Blood and stock roms)
Does anyone have any idea on how to stop this from happening? I have searched everywhere for answers and the closest i have come across is to update the sim tool set via lg suite. Unfortunately i cannot do this as every version of lg pc suite i have tried does not work properly on windows 7 (no support for 64 bit, WTF!!!). Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Second request: Also does anyone know where i might obtain the latest UK unlocked baseband and stock ICS rom from as i cannot update the device via OTA at all.
Forgot to mention that the message box appears even when a sim card is not present in the device.

look in dev section, there's bunch of stock ad stock - based roms. don't waste someone's time because you are too lazy to search.
problem with pop up is curious. Can you test it on pure cm10 with "factory state" (all things wiped and rim installed)

I'm not looking for just the rom but also advise on which baseband people believe to be the better so don't get on your f***ing high horse!
The issue with the popup message also happens with this rom and literally all i have tried prior and all stock ones i have tried. The closest i have come to seeing a resolve is to update the sim tools but this (as far as i can see from searching as this seems to be quite a small issue in terms of others experiencing it), needs to be done via LG suite which is not possible on my W7 64bit machine (advise i got directly from LG when complaining about it LG suite not installing).

[Q] CDMA p1c stable rom with USB working?

I am looking for a rom that has usb working for vzw CDMA version of this rom. The latest cm10.1 doesnt work or the aokp. Anyone know what the last version (if ever) that it did work?
I know this isn't super helpful, but there's not a lot of love for the p1c. This ROM used to have working USB. I don't remember what point it stopped working, but I'd guess around April or May?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2043421
Good luck
Out of curiosity what did you end up with?
I have a verizon p1c and cannot get any of alrodgers last builds to work with it, I have an old build from early 2013 that works, barely.
I am going to try these from September 2013, 422 is supposedly nogo on p1c but maybe 412

I have terenceng kit kat rom. I got the usb to work after updating samsung kies, runnning the install drivers for a tab. I reran zadig via heimdall. When i reconnected the tab to my pc, it automatically updated the drivers. Then all i had ro do was select the usb icon in the upper left corner of the tab, touch it, from the dropdown menu select usb connect (?), then in the next pop up, ok to connect.
I transfered files to and from my tab.

Terenceng posted yesterday that he will upload a new rom with the front camera and app2sd card soon. I know that this doesn't exactly help, but the bugs are getting squashed. All that's left that i know of is the data connection and possibly video/camera out via usb and hdmi. If you can be patient, it should be fixed soon.
