USB isnt being recognised! HELP!!! - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My device doesnt appear on my PC when I connect it and niether does my phone pop up USB debugging menu which it once used. I have no clue what happened to my poor phone. Its running 4.2.2 cm. And it doesnt get recognised by odin either in the download mode. what may have gone wrong?

Do you have force fast charge turned on? If you do simply turn it off.

You have to install usb samsung drivers

Maybe you should check in setting in debugging part check debug mod and USB and unmark over the network

you mean from developer options? I don't get the message in the notification tray "USB connected" where as I used to get it previously. Now it simply charges the device and nothing more

Yes, from developer option enable debugging mode as pic below
And about Odin don't recognize your phone, you have to download Samsung driver>Restart PC > boot your phone into download mode then plug it to PC it will be recognized.. If you have win8 installed and it still don't recognize your phone then install driver from windows update..
In win7 it install it automatically

I've already got those settings enabled. But My phone doesn't get connected
Usually it gives me notification USB Connected and then I could select it to turn on USB or not. But now it doesn't give me that nitofcation when I connect it even though it still charges my phone. Are there any drivers inside the phone Which may have got corrupted or something?

1-I know that you are using semaphore kernel so, Did you enabled fast charge? If yes disable it as shown in pic
2- try to unplug your phone, uncheck debugging and re-enable it again then connect your phone and see

No, its useless and consume ram

Try a new flash... factory reset. Wipe cache format system dir etc to get a clean start.
It worked for me to clear the problem. Just remember to back up apps and data first.... titanium or similar.

Hello Hussam91,
I can think of two things:
First - maybe you didn't see the message in the notification bar? (see attached picture)
(The button in the middle - tap it and allow the USB connection in the next screen).
If this was not the reason - maybe this can help you then:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2144709
I had the problem that I could not connect the phone in myPhoneExplorer via USB. The reason seems to be a new usb security feature.
Make sure you have the latest adb drivers installed, like mentioned in the thread.
I ran "adb devices" from the command line (like mentioned in thread), first the phone was shown offline. Then, a popup was shown on the phone that allowed me to add my computer's fingerprint. After that, everything worked fine.
Greetings!

Connect USB to mainboard usb port .
Install latest Kies .
Reboot phone .
Connect phone with Debugging off .
Connect phone in USB mass storage mode and wait for windows to find drivers and install them .

Tried that as well and still not recognized. I'm beginning to this the problem is from the phone itself, cause i've tried it on my PC and Mac and both had the same results (not recognized)
However the phone is working normally, except to this problem
Check for damaged pins in phones micro usb socket.Use fine needle to straight them up.I had the same problem and my phone now is fine.

LG OP 970 only briefly connects to PC in USB CP Mode that disconnects

Hello,
I was trying to restore my IMEI after it has been set to (null) after a failed Firmware update.
I was following this tutorial at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=38707931.
However, the big issue for me is that, as soon as I switch to USB CP Mode, the phone will connect, but automatically disconnect after a second. The issue appears under Windows XP and Ubuntu. The device will then connect in 15 second intervalls.
Using the device in USB Mode AP works without any problems.
Firmware is EU Open 30b.
Thanks in advance for you help.
Best Regards,
Lammy
I have downgraded to Firmwarw 10a. No changes in behaviour.

I tried HyperTerminal with the same result. As the device in CP mode immediately disconnects again, no connection can be ophold. AP mode is possible, but that would not let me send any commands. Debugging is available and device is rooter

Did you try it with both usb debugging on and off? And also with and without micro sd? Sounds stupid, but why not try it? Also I would try to factory reset and sft to Froyo (v10x). Just for the sake of trying. Also try an unrooted version and one that doesnt have cwm patched into it.

If you connect to kies, enable usb debug.
If you connect as mtp or ptp, disable usb debug.

[Q] usb unrecognized even using kies after i root my phone..help!!

hey guys .. i need help .. pc doesnt recognized my phone even using kies .. this problem appear after i root my phone .. pliss help me :crying:
im using jellybean 4.1.2 ..
Kies must be one of the crappiest sw ever, but if you try to enable usb debug it should be detected.
I don't use kies. It f***s with everything when you try to connect something.
Just use the samsung driver and let windows handle the rest, but in that case don't use usb debug for filetransfer.
If you want kies for updates....don't! Kies must have bricked more phones then any other software :silly:

No Flashmode on win xp even with drivers

Hey guys, I could use some.help from some experts, I've seen information about Windows 7+8 but that don't help me here.
I can go into fastboot mode without trouble at all, but if I try to go into flash mode, the led just flashes up red, then green, within a split second and the pc tells me that the usb device cannot be specified or detected.
Any idea? I've got all drivers installed and just don't know what to do anymore?!?
All I want to do is flash the new 4.2.2 ftf. File via flashtool

tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers?
Any softwares like SPC interfering with the connections? Is the device showing up in the Computer window? What does it say in the device manager once you connect and do you here the windows alert tone when you plug it in?

Download flashtool. Go to the drivers folder located inside the flashtool 's installation directory.
Keep your device disconnected.
During installation, scroll all the way down and select flashmode drivers.
Reboot the PC.
Then connect your phone once it's done.
When you connect your phone to the PC, what does it show up as in device manager?
If it says unknown, then right click on it and select the option to manually provide the driver. Then select the flashmode drivers.

Tried That, just shows an "unkown" driver without certification!
I've never had this issue before!
It always depends on the phone! Had the same problem with the Xperia play, didn't have it with the T and now got it again with the Z:what:
