No Flashmode on win xp even with drivers - Xperia Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys, I could use some.help from some experts, I've seen information about Windows 7+8 but that don't help me here.
I can go into fastboot mode without trouble at all, but if I try to go into flash mode, the led just flashes up red, then green, within a split second and the pc tells me that the usb device cannot be specified or detected.
Any idea? I've got all drivers installed and just don't know what to do anymore?!?
All I want to do is flash the new 4.2.2 ftf. File via flashtool

tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers?

Any softwares like SPC interfering with the connections? Is the device showing up in the Computer window? What does it say in the device manager once you connect and do you here the windows alert tone when you plug it in?

Download flashtool. Go to the drivers folder located inside the flashtool 's installation directory.
Keep your device disconnected.
During installation, scroll all the way down and select flashmode drivers.
Reboot the PC.
Then connect your phone once it's done.
When you connect your phone to the PC, what does it show up as in device manager?
If it says unknown, then right click on it and select the option to manually provide the driver. Then select the flashmode drivers.

Tried That, just shows an "unkown" driver without certification!
I've never had this issue before!
It always depends on the phone! Had the same problem with the Xperia play, didn't have it with the T and now got it again with the Z:what:

I used the drivers linked by DooM:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2153261
And have no trouble charging or accessing the phone when USB Debug is enabled.
Scroll down where you read:
"download the fastboot package with usb drivers (alternate drivers if the ones in package dont work OR this)"
He gives 3 diffirent options to install the drivers, Iam sure one of these should also work for you.
Kind regards, Stefan.
Try this
http://developer.sonymobile.com/downloads/drivers/
If Windows os is refusing to install them, disable driver signature check.

Do you have force fast charge turned on? If you do simply turn it off.
You have to install usb samsung drivers

Yes, from developer option enable debugging mode as pic below
And about Odin don't recognize your phone, you have to download Samsung driver>Restart PC > boot your phone into download mode then plug it to PC it will be recognized.. If you have win8 installed and it still don't recognize your phone then install driver from windows update..
In win7 it install it automatically

I've already got those settings enabled. But My phone doesn't get connected
Usually it gives me notification USB Connected and then I could select it to turn on USB or not. But now it doesn't give me that nitofcation when I connect it even though it still charges my phone. Are there any drivers inside the phone Which may have got corrupted or something?

1-I know that you are using semaphore kernel so, Did you enabled fast charge? If yes disable it as shown in pic
2- try to unplug your phone, uncheck debugging and re-enable it again then connect your phone and see

No, its useless and consume ram
Try a new flash... factory reset. Wipe cache format system dir etc to get a clean start.
It worked for me to clear the problem. Just remember to back up apps and data first.... titanium or similar.

Hello Hussam91,
I can think of two things:
First - maybe you didn't see the message in the notification bar? (see attached picture)
(The button in the middle - tap it and allow the USB connection in the next screen).
If this was not the reason - maybe this can help you then:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2144709
I had the problem that I could not connect the phone in myPhoneExplorer via USB. The reason seems to be a new usb security feature.
Make sure you have the latest adb drivers installed, like mentioned in the thread.
I ran "adb devices" from the command line (like mentioned in thread), first the phone was shown offline. Then, a popup was shown on the phone that allowed me to add my computer's fingerprint. After that, everything worked fine.
Greetings!

[Q] How to factory reset with broken screen?

can you walk me through the steps?
i have flashtool 'emma' opened up and rebooted my z into 'safe mode' and flashtool still says 'connect a phone or accessory'.
my phone needs a lock code to unlock but touch screen does not work
I hope you have USB debugging turned on. For flashtool you need this.
Turn off your device. Open flashtool and click on the lightning. Chose your stock rom. Wait until the command comes to plug your phone. Hold volume down and plug your phone in. Wait a few minutes. You are done.

If you haven't got debugging enabled the Sony Update service (SUS) will do it, this will only work for locked bootloader

Thanks for the help, SUS got the job done. :good:

Yup!
I hope someone is subscribed to this thread. If i use flashtool, does it mean there is no way someone can retrieve my deleted photos? Am sending my phone to the service center and i dont want them getting some private photos
If you have a broken touch panel but the screen is still good enough to see, all you need to do is get a USB OTG adapter/cable (micro USB plug on one end and a computer USB socket on the other) and a USB mouse. Plug the mouse into your Android device via the USB OTG and it will give you a mouse pointer on screen which can be used to do any single touch action you would normally do. This works in TWRP's recovery too.

[Q] unable to connect xperia z in flashmode

Hi
I'm unable to connect my xperia z in flash mode.
it is detected in fast boot mode but when i connect it in flash mode the green light is shown for one second and then not.
i'm using windows 8 with flash tool 0.9.11.0 .
I have tried everything re installing drivers formatting windows and all .
please tell me what to do?
Follow this guide to setup Flashtool and drivers - How to flash stock roms with Flashtool
There's a specific section on installing the drivers under Windows 8.
If you still can't get it to connect in Flashmode, try a different USB port or cable or even a different PC.
Sent from my C6603 using Tapatalk 4
Run a driver check on flashtool in settings which will tell you if drivers are installed. There are a couple of links in my sig which you might want to read.

Hi!
My C903 cannot access flash mode. The led is flashing red and green like a second, then dissappear. Then I have to hold power+vol up to be able to start the phone. Everything else works great, fastboot and everything. I have flashed roms on this phone work flashtool before and it has worked great. I have DoomKernel and rooted stock. 290. Anyone know why the flash mode won't work. I have nandroid backup and unlocked bootloader, so I can try any suggestions.

Win 7. It worked earlier. I have not changed anything, at least not in Windows. I guess it's the phone.

Follow these steps....After clicking on “Flash” Button FlashTool will prepare file for flashing. Now enable USB Debugging on your phone and enable unknown sources option in your Xperia Z1 and switch it off. When prompted the notification of connecting your phone, connect it in flashmode.Press Volume down button and then insert usb in phone, you will see red and green light blink once, it means phone is connected in flashmode now.
As soon as phone is detected by FlashTool, flashing beings and wait till it is finished.......
Where is ur fon getting error in above procedure?????

Actually the only things that don't work is flash mode and that I can't charge phone while turned off. It boots into system and starts charging. Anything else works. When I try to flash with flashtool it says connect phone after preparing files to be flashed. The red/green led flashes, but no flash mode. Everything with the phone works, but not flash mode...

I don't know exactly why you want your phone in Flashmode but probably because you want flash something so if you don't mind wipe your phone try use PC Companion and repair the phone to stock, maybe is the custom rom making problems.
