Hello, I'm new to this site and I wasn't sure where to post this but I believe this counts as a possible accessory so I decided to try it out here. I was looking for another solution to the heating problem in regards to the phone as it still does warm up a bit even after the updates to v20a and came across this:
It's a so-called graphite/graphene "ice pad" that sticks to the area inside the back cover, the only caveat is that if used on the LG Optimus 4X HD, it would cover the nfc antenna which is on the original back cover. Personally, I haven't bought and tried it yet, but am wondering if someone already has. I tried searching for it here on the forums but found nothing in regards to it. So I'm just putting this out here in case someone wants to try it, and possibly review it. I'm going to be ordering one for myself to test it out, but if someone already has tried it, please add a review on this thread.
Unfortunately, I can't post the links due to being restricted as a new user, but they are found on dhgate(dot)com and aliexpress(dot)com under the label "Cell Phone Heat Sink Magical Ice Pad Graphite/Graphene"
EDIT: Accessory has been purchased in this post.....http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=41198265&postcount=14

That's why I am going to get the cheaper one for testing purposes so it won't be a waste of cash. I've also sent an email to Panasonic for a sample of their (PGS) graphite sheet as that's what the ICE PAD reminds me of and that paper-like sheet can disperse heat up to 400 degrees F during testing. Dunno how long they'll (Panasonic USA) reply to me or how long that ICE PAD will get here since I've ordered it with free shipping. In theory and testing, the graphite (PGS) from Panasonic is an ultra-thin, lightweight, graphite film with a thermal conductivity high enough to release and diffuse the heat generated by heat sources such as CPU’s, processors, power amplifiers and cameras. Developed by Panasonic engineers, this synthetically made material was named Pyrolytic Graphite Sheet or PGS. With a thermal conductivity up to four times greater than copper, PGS is extremely pliable and can be applied to heat-source shapes even in high density mounting situations. And according to the slightly broken English on those Asian sites I've mentioned, they've described their product to do exactly what Panasonic's PGS can do and applied it to cooling smartphones.
man how much i hate this heating problem
For anyone wondering about what I'm talking about when I mention the PGS by Panasonic, you can search on youtube or add this /watch?v=ZAEhyY1_czM for a look at how the PGS sheet disperses heat during testing.
did you find any online store to buy it? because i only find the products on chinese web site and i don't trust them
It would probably be possible to cut a small rectangle out of it so that the NFC contact points still work.

if it is truly a graphene sheet, it's possible, but if it's not, then don't
Has anyone tried this magical stuff?
This stuff sounds amazing.
Wouldn't it make sense to have it directly on the CPU instead of sticking it to the back plastic?
Then maybe that way it shouldn't affect the NFC?
I would love to try this!

There is video in youtube about the Graphite sheet and that even cutting it won't affect it. Search for Panasonic Pyrolitic Graphite Sheets - Another Geek Moment by digikey.

Who said anything about cutting? There's only 10 screws holding the back cover on!

I was watching LG Optimus 4x HD dissasembling on youtube. I noticed that the CPU is on the other side of PCB turned to screen. I don't konw were you can attach this sink. If you attach it to the top of CPU the most of heat will go to screen and this will cause bubbles under screen. On the other side of CPU is SIM PCB. Maybe you can attach it between main pcb and sim pcb.
I think you must watch the video:

OK, I just got the graphite/graphene "ice pad" yesterday and have started testing it by adding it as it supposed to be via enclosed instruction (the butchered English grammar notwithstanding). So far, close to within 24 hrs of current testing, I've seen some "slight" improvement. The phone - so far - within the span of an hour or more of solid gaming with all the cores on (software updates included) - doesn't get aggravatingly hot enough to the point where it feels as if it will blister your skin unlike before where I almost believe it will blow up. Yeah, I know it may sound like an exaggeration, but it DID get that hot prior to everything that I feared it will melt the sd card/sim card along with the plastic back cover when I first got the phone. And yes, I have already updated my phone to v20a with the obligatory root and tweaks... however, on stock ROM from LG ONLY. Currently, it does get warm but not overly "toasty" as it did out of the box. The battery still drains like a rock during super heavy use, but that is expected of quad core devices, especially on stock battery with EVERYTHING on (wifi/data/etc). I wish I had a thermal camera to really see the difference but it does "seem" to be able to dissipate heat faster. Alas, I am a noob when it comes to custom ROMs and have only rooted my unit with as-is stock v20a updated from LG so I cannot tell if there is a definite difference with people using the thing with custom ROMs. Will keep testing for the next few weeks.
And yeah, I did cut out a small portion of it to let the back cover still have access to the antenna.

It does. if you can check on the pic I included, I made sure the contacts on the back cover had clear access to the contacts on the phone by cutting out a small piece of the pad .
The only update I have at the moment after almost a month of testing is that the heat rarely rises to "ouch" levels now. A long phone conversation only becomes warm now to my ear, and I did this by calling one of the worst customer service call centers I knew of with a VERY long hold time. Yes, the one where they BOUNCE you through a TON of lines before you get to the right department.
Sadly, however, I still can't test this via thermal imaging camera as I don't know anyone personally who owns one to really validate the rest of my tests. All I know so far is that it does help with the heat to a small degree with all the added extra precautions included in taking care of your phone. I've roughly played a two-hour game on it without the feeling of it cooking my hand. I've switched between wifi/data, etc and had the screen on from 60% brightness and up - the thing still automatically stops the brightness control when the unit gets too warm - including leaving it lit for the same amount of time straight as when I was playing a game. In fact, I did both at the same time and separate to see the difference. Only once did it go up to 100 degrees fahrenheit and slightly above that on max brightness using a flashlight app while looking at the internal indicator on as reference before I lost my nerve and let it cool off. It cooled off faster though when it was with the pad than without.
In the end, I would like to say that does kinda work, but don't take my word for it. Everyone in here has different setups for their own units so I hope this thread will get some more people interested in testing it out. For less than ten dollars US (I got mine for five with free shipping), I can say that it's an acceptable risk to test the pad out.

LOL the site still won't let me post links until I get more seniority. You can search for it under "Graphite/graphene heat sink for cell phone". I came out with sites like dhgate(dot)com and aliexpress(dot)com... I got mine from gadget-buy(dot)com for about less than 5 dollars US, it used to come with free shipping but I guess a lot of people want it because when I went back to the site, I saw a shipping price already added to it. You can probably keep on searching until you can find a cheaper one.
Ok thx. I've had bad experiences with these sites and found them on there indeed. I was kind of hoping you found it at ebay somewhere, but I couldn't find it over there.
Another question. Does the back cover still close easily?

It closes perfectly, no problems whatsoever. Just make sure you make a space/hole if the place you're going to put it on has an antenna connection. This should work on most phones. Actually, I think they sell also on ebay, but it's rare I guess. I did a recent search on ebay, and nothing came up either. It took me a while to look up those pads so I believe you have to be patient while you trawl through the net for a reliable site. I certainly took my own time to decide on whether I should get it or not, but when I got to a site that sold it for less than $5, then took the plunge on getting it. Only time will tell if it is an investment well spent or not, and the price is negligible enough to not put me in the hole.

Hey everybody, well I just got my pair of tangerine Google Glass this morning and am currently running the set up and update to xe12. During both of which I can see about 5 lightly colored white specks on the right hand side of the screen. Is this normal or can anyone else explain why they are there? I called glass support and asked and Chris answered that they may just be from shipping so I wiped all sides of the prism with a clean micro fiber cloth and I can still see them. They almost look like stars in the distance if that makes sense. Anyway I also asked about the protective film that is installed on booth the front and back of the prism and Chris said those are suppose to stay on and are permanent so I shouldn't remove those. Any ideas would be appreciated. It's not a huge deal but still something I noticed right away. Kind of like dead pixels on a cell phone or tablet display.
I didn't have it but I went in for a fitting a few weeks ago and it still feels like it was just a blur
Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk
Yep that's exactly what they are... dead pixels. My Glass has two from what I can see and they are along the bottom. Now when I first noticed and contacted Glass support I was told since the 2 dead pixels were not interfering with the function of Glass and I could still very clearly see the display, that it was not enough to warrant a swap. This being a beta or prototype, it won't be perfect so unless it hinders you from using Glass you may not be able to swap. I'm hoping my hardware swap will be flawless ?

Thanks for your reply. I've actually decided to return my pair of Glass for primarily battery life concerns and actual use case scenario's. I've found that instead of Glass being a companion to my cell phone it has really become just another separate entity and that is usefulness in my everyday life doesn't currently justify the $1,700 I spent. The battery drain and drop overnight for unknown reasons is very troubling and needs to be addressed before a consumer release. 3-4 hours of real world use just isn't enough for me. Anyways good luck to the rest of you explorers out there and I'm sure I'll be rejoining the forums after the retail release. That is as long as the price is reasonable enough and my issues have been addressed from the pre-release version.

I've found the same to be true. The entire left side of glass is empty, why not have a battery on that side... I think years from now they'll be selling dual display glass, where the left would display one set of info, and the right could have another. It's so early though, there's not even an option to look at a "photo" app. I think the entire setup needs a little rethinking. Why not have an "APP" card where you can scroll through apps? and a "Gallery" app where you can see photos/videos you've taken, once the cards have gone so far you've lost that picture completely unless you connect to a PC or use your phone.
Lot's of things simple things like displaying date/weather on the main screen or controlling brightness manually aren't even options?!? I see this going another route once it gets out of the hands of the current folks at Google, it's like Android is one way, and Glass is a totally different entity itself at this point...
Getting my $1,620 back and buying some parts for my Mustang! Good luck explorers, I've had fun but it's just not there yet.
hello everybody,
I just purchased a GG yesterday, after reading a lot of your posts and thank you all for it. What convinced me was the new update that brings full notifications and better battery life. So far, I like it a lot, but of course 1 day is not enough.
There are 2 things I would like to ask other owners, who might have had it for longer time.
I read the post about the IP55 rating, but I would like to know if somebody really dropped it in water (most likely unintentionally), drop some water/liquid on it, got heavy rain, ecc. In other words, something more than washing hands or sweat.
Second point regards scratches. There are a lot of posts about this all over Internet, but very controversial. I would like to know if any of you had any scracth on the glass, the case or the buckle. If any of you experinced any serious bump, drops and so forth. I read somewhere that the GG has sapphire glass, but I seriously doubt it, as usually these glasses are very expensive and are used mostly on more expensive watches.
Thining logically, Samsung should have considered these issues, as after all, it is a watch and you want to wear it, so some kind of protection shluld be there. But I learnt that logic does not always work.
Any advice/experience you would like to share will be much appreciated!!!
Thank you very much,
Roger
I am using GEAR since end of OCT.
- water resistance - rain, drops of water is OK for the watch - if You search the forum you will even find the movie with the gear under kitchen tap water flowing on it. It is NOT ok for shower, swimming, diving etc. Generally - keep it away from water when possible. GEAR build quality is OK
If You wonder how SONY watch behaves - check their forum - a lot of complains and quality issues in general like http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2574988
- scratch resistance - Gear glass is NOT scratch resistant! it scratches very easy so keep it away from any hard objects, sand, metal, etc. Generally speaking- with the product life of maximum 1 year ( yes, we may expect GEAR II not later than September 2014) scratch resistance is not so important, and Samsung for sure will not use sapphire for the glass - it is too expensive.
I've had mine since day one and no problem with it whatsoever. I don't take it off when I wash my hands just careful not getting it wet.
Battery life is pretty strong as you go about two days. Don't have any scratches on it so far but I'm pretty careful when I'm around walls/tables/desks.

I have washed my hands with mine on and have gotten water on it (even into the speaker area) no problems so far. Regarding scratched, I put on a skinomi shield (invisible shield type). Looks awesome! Super clear and can barely see it's on. I got the full body which has a cover for under the watch (not too sure why you would need it but I put on since it came with it). I should let you know that with the full body cover, the charger takes some work to get it to close but it's definitely close-able. Have fun with you new gear. I know I am.
Picked up a galaxy gear with carbon fiber skin protector from skinomi and it came with a screen protector too. Bought extra screen protectors off Amazon just in case. Everything running great and not worries about scratches anymore. Still very cautious around water though.

Had mine for awhile as well. I don't worry about washing my hands or rain. Just wouldn't submerge it to be on the safer side. Scratches... The speaker clasp is pretty scratched up but I'm not too concerned about it. As for the face, I have hit/bumped/scraped on things such as desk, doors, walls, etc. So far it has held up well with no noticeable scratches. However I always worry every time I do bump it.

I know this is a slightly callous thing to say, but suddenly watches have fallen into the bi-yearly replaceable category.
No longer are they finely hand crafted devices that merely tell you just the time (and sometimes the date), they are an extension of your phone. Generally my analogue time pieces would last me anywhere between 5-15 years. This is technology though and we all know it can become out of date very quickly. It's sad and I dislike this fact, but I know that in a year or two I will want to upgrade to keep up with the Jones'. Not just that, I guarantee the Note 6 won't support the original Gear.
We're stuck in the cycle now!
My gear has me essentially committed to samsung now. I usually switch out phones alot but no more. No nexus 5 for me I guess. I wish I didn't have to use some weird workaround to get it to work with another phone

Were you able to get the Skinomi clasp cover to stay on? Mine was very difficult to get on to begin with and I could never get the corners to adhere properly. Within a couple days, the corners were full of dirt. Skinomi sent me a new one, but same problem. Is there a trick to get the corners to stay down, or is the clasp cover just useless?
I am sure you ll enjoy your gg . I just bought one purely to be used when I am out on my motorbike as it will be alot easier to see who calls etc without reaching to my phone with gloves and stuff.

Learn some basic electronics work and you'll be able to keep stuff running for much longer. That won't help with stuff that just get outdated to the point where they're no longer useful, but I don't see all that much application for more processing power in a watch. In a few years, just open it up and swap the battery with one purchased for a few dollars on a site like HobbyKing.

By the same logic, once the battery goes dead in your car, it's time to buy a new car because replacing the battery is "immoral and illegal". There's nothing wrong with trying to fix something you own.

Maybe there is a language barrier issue, but Klau1, if it is your watch then of course you can replace the battery in it with a new one. This is not immoral or illegal in any way.

OK - I've watched several You Tube videos showing how to do this on the XT890, but still have a question (or two) - All the videos show the cable attaching the screen to the main case and the cable attaching the battery just popping off - I'm not sure I've seen a connector like this before - how easy is it really to simply undo? And then the battery removal -some show some heat gun action to remove, is this really required? Finally, how easy is it to do in reverse, but with a new battery?
Oh, one last bonus question - if I was going to do this I'd try to get a OEM part, not sure I trust anything else, is this a good idea?
Many thanks all

They are quiet easy to pop off. I did it just a few days ago. The only hassle is all those screws and that you need to gently apply some force on some parts to get it off.
I never went as far as replacing the battery itself, so no idea of why to use a heat gun. In one of those youtube video's it just flipped it lose with some small plastic thingy.
OEM parts are most of the time good quality. But others could be even better for less money. Just look around and hope more people have used the batterys and find some reviews.

Yep, after you pop it off, u can pop it on again (easy). Just be careful and don't just pull off your screen without disconnecting the connector.
Still bricked. And will use this weekend again to try to get it back to live. But small chance...
Be careful, the backplate of the screen is fragile. Don't pressure it, you might break the amoled panel.
When I have time I can post some photos of the teardown and my destroyed screen... Battery is glued, heat gun is not a mandatory but preferred, because you could twist the battery a little.

Just take the time for it. Empty desk, places/bowls to separate all screws (there are more than 3 different screws) and indeed some courage. Scratches are common with this kind of things. Just be careful, especially with the screen. I personally don't mind scratches on the outside, but i dislike them on the screen.

1st remove back cover and in my case i have a cell phone repair kit with the screw drivers and prys. Remove all the screws in the frame assambly. There are 11 of them.
2nd carefully pry the rear frame apart from the screen assambly.there are no wires to disconect yet. Do not force her apart she will come apart when all the clips are released.
3rd once the backplate is free there are 3 wire clips 1 on the camera one next to it for the light sensors and down near the bottom rite under the battery.
4th you can leave the camera module in just move the three wires slightly to the side and carefully remove the board flip it over and again carefully pry the big tin away from the board.
5th im a little eccentric so i applied the paste to all 5 chips underneith the tin just a very small dab goes a long way see in pics attached
6th when putting the tin back on make sure its lined up on all points.
this is also a common ground connector on most phones.
From here just reassmble and enjoy!!!!
Whole procsess took about 20 min
Before I started I was at 45 Celsius now after moderate usage to check temp 29 celsius.
Ive run the piss out of this phone. sold it twice and got it back wireless charge.
Shes a soldier.

Can you clarify - did you put the thermal past *only* between those chips in your picture, and the little metal cover that goes over them? I can't tell if you also put it between the metal covers and the frame of the phone?
Yea i did a small smudge on each then i put the cover back on arctic silver is a pretty nonconductive paste i try not to put it on everything all sloppy but ive never had it liqufy and run any where either some people say it does i didnt put none on the frame or cover.
Im not familiar with this layoit either knowin my dumb arse i put it on the wrong chips but i went through my g3 and actually done a bunch of them in small doses of coarse throught the whole board
Kingfattys diagram is rite i couldnt find a diaram of the board so im partially wrong. I will update tonight ill do another tear down and take more pics
The proscessor is on the backside. Thats why i ask for help to im goin off a old setup.
Ofcoarse it never hurts to coat more chips all produce heat. Ill label the diagrams and do a complete guide rework tonight on my computer
figured id brink this back up on the thread list
so
Bump
dont know if its helped guys.
but so everyone knows i havnt had a bootloop issue on my g4 yet to date again knock on lgs synthetic leather.
there has been a lot of discussions of heat being the primary cause for the failed solder joints and maybe this helped maybe it didnt

Using the stress test? Wow, I'm definitely going to add thermal paste. That's a good 15-20c lower than mine.

Yeah, I really like how the G4 feels and the camera is nice. But temps are crazy. LG seems to have really failed on that front, not to mention how it's all locked down now.
My G2 has been great for that last 3 and a half years, replaced the screen 3 times, battery is now failing though. I'll prob grab another screen as it's just a great, reliable device.

mines loaded with loads of crap on it im sure it was pretty low
ive never been one to really go off benchmark scores just numbers to me like ive got a old one loaded up youve got a new one probly still fairly clean
im more into actual real life usage fluidity
i know mine has no lag doesnt overheat and is still fairly smooth running
still handles the gear vr pretty damn good

Yeah, I'm not one for benchmarks either, but it can give an idea of the health of the hardware. I did notice lower scores on some G4's I think it may be because of throttling due to overheating though. I get around 70,000, if I put a little pc fan next to it, it gets 71,500.

Nice video. Summary of procedure:
1) open the phone to reveal the circuit board
2) remove the large metal shroud or plate covering the processor chip and memory chips
3) cut out and remove a section of the large metal shroud that would normally cover the processor chip
3) get a piece of "heatsink tape" (e.g., thermal tape, he uses a tape with copper on top and adhesive on the bottom) and cut it to fit on the top of the memory chip, apply it to the memory chip
4) replace the large metal shroud over the chip - this covers and sandwiches the thermal tape on the memory chip under the shroud, while exposing the processor chip due to the hole you cut in step 3) above
5) apply another section of large thermal tape over the exposed processor to extend beyond the processor to the sides, covering over the metal shroud too (*this I disagree with, see below*)
6) apply a small section of thermal tape over the metal shroud located where the memory chip is located
Disagreement issue: there is a gap/divot over the processor, which will no longer make stiff contact with the frame when you assemble the phone. You can see the divot around 13:00 of the video, how the thermal tape "dips" in over the processor.
To fix, I'd add step between 4 and 5:
4.5) apply a small section of thermal tape directly over the naked processor to serve as a shim - just copy step 3) by applying the same procedure to the processor, not just the memory chip
By giving the processor the same covering of thermal tape as you did the memory chip, you will make sure the tape from step 5) that lays across the metal shroud and processor, will now be flat and not have a divot, to ensure good pressure/contact between the frame and the processor when you install the frame
Greeting all! I've had my Asus Rog 2 for a little over a month I'd say. I have the proper Republic of Gamers version. I've noticed on the left side, where the attachment port is. An amount of flex in the screen along the seal. It's probably only a millimetre or so. But it flexes up and down when pressed, seeable from a side on view. The other side where the volume and power buttons are does not that this flex. There is also a light difference to sound when tapping that side of the phone while typing. Which I can only put down to the slight screen compressing on the left. I'm not sure how I can to notice it. Some people have said it might be an intentional aspect of the phone to give a small amount of flex/shock absorption but I can't find anything online mentioning it. I'm more leaning towards it being a fault in my phone. It's not once been dropped always been in a case. So yeah. Anyone able to shed light on this?

Finally. Someone with class and crazy sharp senses. I myself have severe OCD. I used to be very verbal about this kind of stuff on the AC forums xD. But on XDA i toned myself down.
First of all. Asus has crap for Quality Control. I had 2 ROGPHONE 2s with different power button height. And in between the lcd and bezel i could see glue. But okay nevermind.
As for the screen lifting near the accessory port, i do not seem to have it. Did you happen to sit on it? Or put the phone in the back pocket? Remembering that this is a tall phone.

Nope! I don't even take the phone to work with me. I swap to my previous phone.
I'm pretty sure it's a fault. It hasn't caused any issues apart from some annoyance to my OCD. As long as it doesn't worsen it's not something I can't live with.

It will worsen. You should get it replaced. Im sure it will eventually become wider from the flexing. Btw do you use the accessory port often? And do you have a tempered glass applied?

I wouldn't have a clue how. I'm in Australia and I purchased the phone via eBay.
I've used the accessory port once, just to check it out. Used the fan for maybe 15 minutes. Other than that I've never removed the piece of rubber there.
And yes, I have a tempered glass protector applied.

Yeah, it's 100% the screen. You can see the black edge of the screen move up and down from the dark drownish side of the phone. I'll just have to keep an eye on it I suppose. Bit annoying though. Pay almost $1,700 for one of the best phones on the market thinking you're going to get something issue free. Ha.

In Indonesia. Samsung has the best QC. I only had 1 issue with Samsung. Which was dust under the S7 Edge screen. But other than that they're very good. But Asus Indonesia is a joke. Its like we get a refurbished phone. I bought 2 rogphone 2s and each had their own defect. First had glue in between the screen and bezel, and my current unit has different volume/power button height.

Which is why I didn't want to buy the Tencent version. Plus it wouldn't work here correctly without getting into the firmware. I just figured I'd spend the money. Get the good one that'll have no issues. I asked the seller if they had warranty which the answer was no. They referred me to a few companies that do insurance on phones.
I've never bought a real expensive phone before, and my previous phone was 4 or 5 years old. It was an S5.
So it is annoying. But other than that I don't have any complaints about it.

Lack of glue probably is the issue. I might see if there are any places around that can do it. Doubtful there would be around me. Best luck is probably Sydney. Which is a few hours away.

You seriously dont know how comfortable your comment has made me after reading it. I have always had this habit of checking my belongings (from my phone to my own body and muscles) to make absolutely sure there isnt a single even slighgest problem with it and guess what, there always is something to notice for me!
One of the reasons why I had never opted for an oled phone knowing I will notice the burn-ins one day when there isnt any other person who notices them.
Now I finally decided to go for this phone with the assumption that asus knows how to make gaming stuff, but now I can see several issues already, from the obvious red tint to the screen having lots of bandings and horizontal lines on lower brightness on gray color.
Now I can also feel the volume buttons not needing the same pressure and of of them being softer and also the rgb light on the back being poorly so when the light turns on there are some dots around it that also light up(i know that its only a white paper behind the back glass so if there are any print issues they will also light up)
Althought I dont have any serious issues(yet), im definitely not buying another phone from asus or any other not that famous brands for that matter. My last device was a sony x compact which I had for 3 years from when it came out and I still regret selling it, it was so damn perfect.
Btw, thanks for lettin me know that there is a disorder named OCD, I dont know why I hadnt searched about it already.

Hi, well thats quite a positive feedback. I had quite a backlash at AC forums. I've had people say that I'm making AC look like a Mental Issue Forum and some user even boasted how happy his credit card is if he buys a new phone when the old 1 is damaged.(credit card lol) Btw, i wouldn't say its a disorder. Different people have different standards. For me the Mercedes Benz S Klasse might be perfect, but for you it might not be.
And my OCD is definitely worse than yours. My phone can only be touched by me, and me myself dont touch the physical buttons(I'm afraid that it will be damaged).
And never feel alone about something. There will always be somebody out there having the same issue but not posting on the forums xD.

Not a fan of DIY.
So I stopped by a phone repair should this Arvo. The guy said to him it looks as though the battery is swelling. He said thats the side the battery is on so that is the most likely reason for it. He asked if the battery life was alright still.
Hard for me to really notice. I only use the phone on weekends and in the afternoons while home. I generally only charge it every second day, and I unplug the charger once it's at 100%. He said it isn't serious at the moment but if I notice battery charge fading fast, or if it swells a lot more to bring it back and he'll be able to put a new one in.
Just my ****ing luck to get shoddy battery, if that's the issue.

No they didn't. But it's their job so I'd say they can make a pretty fair guess.
I might go back there Monday, as I need my phone this weekend. On Monday I'll go back and tell them to do what needs to be done to fix it.

Yeah trust me the customer services' first guess is battery swell which basicly doesnt happen soon unless you are always charging your phone while playing and overnight and draining it to the last percentage. But is can happen as a result of physical impact or damage, and when it happens you will most probably notice the shortened battery life so I would say it's not a battery problem unless of course proven otherwise.
