Trying to use Wells Fargo's mobile app to deposit a check, and every time I take a picture of the check, it crops off both sides and the amount and payer's address get cut off. Any ideas? I've tried all the crop settings in the stock camera app to no avail. I'm guessing maybe because this camera takes widescreen shots, it's having some affect on this.
And how exactly do you use Zoe?
I am having the same problem on the HTC One with Wells Fargo mobile check deposit as well. Any solution?

This is something Wells Fargo would have to fix. Their app is assuming a non-widescreen ratio, when they shouldn't be. Just take the photo further out.
I agree It took me multiple attempts..I finally got it to accept it by taking a picture from two to three feet above the check

Your kidding me right? The camera is amazing, its not even comparable :what:
The quality is outstanding and the colors are just so vibrant. Completely wrecks my S3.
Well think about how would flash work with the modes that take multiple shots and/or combine them? Obviously those special settings wouldn't be optimal in low light settings where flash is necessary.

The number one reason I upgraded over my HTC Evo 4G LTE was for the better camera in the S4, specifically outdoor/daylight. And I've been testing the heck out of it. Takes spectacular pictures! I'm very happy with the camera. Sport mode works great for non-blurry images of fast moving objects, too. Flash only works in a couple of modes, but that makes sense given most of the modes it's not available in.

I found it slow at first, then i turn on Sport Mode and its pretty fast. I think it all depends on the configuration of the Mode you have ON.
Man I haven't touched the settings at all, besides in noticed that it wasn't set to 13 megapixels at first. Which I thought that was strange. But I think the camera is the best I've used so far.

Dumb question to the Op, but you did take the sticker of the lens didn't you? It comes shipped with a stupid (hard to get off) sticker on the lens with a cutout circle that partially occludes it.

The One's camera is 4mp ultra pixel. It's specifically made for low light.

You're close. The pixels are actually twice the size and the sensor itself is the same size as most 8mp and even some 13mp sensors - it only has a maximum 4mp resolution output though which makes it a 4 megapixel camera.

My thing is after us finding out that the camera is not defaulted to 13 megapixels, I question the validity of any of these comparison reviews because for all we know they are shooting pictures while still on 8 megapixels
Dumb question but how do we change the mega pixels in the camera. I am struggling to find this setting.
Duh. Nvm found it.

I am going to leave some shots using HTC one default settings for you all to compare. I do agree that the only benefit HTC one camera is low light pics. Don't have any low light pics I can share.

I am sure there is just a feature I am not aware of that I need to turn off, I would say about 30% of the pictures I take work fine, and the other 70% say "processing" for about 2-4 seconds when you take the picture. The picture doesn't actually snap until the end of the message so if you move your phone at all you are losing whatever you were trying to take a picture of. Maybe lower the quality of the image resolution? Any suggestions?
Try lowering the resolution of the image. See if that helps.

It does not take the picture after the message disappears, it takes the photo right when you press the shutter. Just tried it out.
Changing resolution did not make a difference for me. Seems like it happens more often in low light for me.

I read somewhere it has to do with lighting conditions. So either night mode is enable or similar. Mine does not do It, and I remember when the Indian reviews first started coming out I was concerned about that. So it's either night mode or smart stabilization, both of which are off for me
Edit: mine does do it if subject is too dark.
It's the smart stabilization/night mode dealio causing it.

So I have only successfully taken one picture with selective focus. I have tried so many different distances from my target and it simply won't work and always says it can't detect the target. Has anyone else had problems? Or does anyone have any ideas for me?

Check the camera lens for sure. Otherwise be sure your two subjects are of a good difference in visual contrast. Since its a software blend, the camera needs two images of stark contrast to work well.
Love, from GS5 locked bootloader hell.
Yes i also notised that.
So I recently got to try to take pictures with my phone underwater.... But one problem I came upon is that once my screen touches the water, it goes berserk and basically exits the camera app. I know I'm suppose to use the physical camera button but I can't even do that if the phone exits the camera app. How are people able to take videos and pictures under water???

Yes. this is stupud. They make a water proof phone but you cannot use the phone when its wet. Thats why the new mini-app has been released.its called touch block.

I'm not sure what else you may be expecting. The phone can't tell the difference between your finger and water. That's why there's a hardware camera button....
Also, you'll notice that if there is water on the screen and you turn the screen off then back on, it learns to ignore that water and the touch works well. Obviously this doesn't work underwater or with water constantly falling on the phone.

I'm not expecting it to work well under water or anything more. You've totally missed my question, I just want to know how people are able to do this

Obviously their screen is not going crazy I assume and stays within the camera app to be able to record/ take pictures

It seems like this is a common issue with no other fix that I can find besides taking it to Sprint. I will post if I find any additional solutions.
Found a fix by searching Google and it really
worked, a drop of water and scrape the lens with the corner of a credit card.

Mine got foggy too. Keep mine in a case and in my front pocket without anything else. Still got all scratched up. Read HTC has put a coating on the lenses for what ever reason.
I placed a small dab of toothpaste with an even smaller dab of water and rubbed on the lens very lightly. First time almost got it 100%, second time did it. Pulled the coating off nicely. Pictures are really clear again.
I've also read rubbing alcohol and Q-tips will do the trick.
Sweet I'm not crazy then it does have a coating on it
