Anybody found a gallery apk to replace htcalbum? I hate this gallery, the setup is horrible w its Facebook display pics and categories. I've tried android gallery apk for jellybean and it works, but can't pull gallery from MMS.

Mind sharing that apk?

Here is the Xperia z gallery apk...the only annoyance with it is when you have taken a picture with zoe it will show every individual shot! Still a fast and useful gallery to use.

Those are nice, but don't replace the HTC gallery. For example, quickpic doesn't allow you to send pic through MMS...HTC doesn't actually. I wanna go around that.

try this.
try installing the stock aosp gallery which will also give you the android stock camera with its sphere cam
and then install the aosp text message app
both are big improvements over the htc apps buit in
my biggest gripe is all the facebook rubish that appears in the htc gallery and yet to get to my picassa albums i have to go through anothe couple of clicks to get to the picasa folder..

I know it works, but when you are in your text, and u click on paperclip to attach a pic, quickpic doesn't show up.
I deleted HTC album and MMS, and running 4.1 of each. Works fine and got rid of that horrible gallery from HTC. Thanks for all help. Now if I could find a themed one that works..

heres the message app -- https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.concentriclivers.mms.com.android.mms
and the camera - gallery app can be pulled from any stock rom, just download one from somewhere like the galaxy nexus forums and extract the Gallery.apk app..
"im pretty sure you need root for the gallery app, i havent tried it without root.. or you could just flash trickdroid rom for the HTC ONE as this already has the gallery cam app from stock android "

I have also faced same problem
Anyone got a link for the standard jellybean gallery .apk? I use a lot of picasa and the HTC gallery doesn't do it half as good as the stock gallery on my Nexus 7.
Thanks

Hi all,
I'm unhappy with the ICS photo gallery widget - when I select 'random photo' for the widget that allows you to swipe through your photos, it's not TRULY RANDOM. It seems to sequentially pick every 10-ish photo as a rule.
I prefer a random assortment of photos (more fun) - does anybody know of a photo gallery widget that will do that?
Thanks!
Another question - quickpic has always been laggy for me.. Scrolling Between photos or especially when selecting a photo and it zooms in to full screen... Noticeable lag. Any fix or anybody else experiencing?

there are many apps available on Play store.. just get the best one which you like.. everyone has their preferences.. hope you agree..!!
BTW.. i am happy with ICS stock one..
I use Just Pictures and it works fine for me on GB. I like it because i can see all of my photos from the phone, my Facebook albums, picasa and deviant art all in one place. It also supports a bunch of other online services like Flickr etc. too.

How about disabling the facebook app from setting/app and then installing an alternative to facebook app??
that should get rid of the gallery of facebook or its icon from gallery!!
let us know!!
-havnt gotten mine yet thats y the suggestion..
hope it helps
Unfortunately you can't because the built in app it's the android version and you can't disable it and download a version
I've spent hours trying to solve it without success

Gallery > Albums > Options (3 vertical dots top-right) > Show/Hide albums > Untick Facebook / Picasa / Twitter etc.
---------- Post added at 03:22 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:11 PM ----------
Or
Settings > Accounts and Sync > Facebook > Untick Live feed ? I dont think removes it from the gallery main screen but it will probably stop it from automatically updating every time you open gallery.
I used titanium back up to freeze "Facebook for HTC sense 5" and that seemed to work. Haven't noticed any side effects yet.

Try hitting the menu key in your gallery and if the menu pops up select from device only, that way it works only with your pictures from your camera or ones you download.
I am coming from a One X (att) and I dropped all of my photos from my One X into the 100 Media folder of my One.
When I go into my gallery, I can only see like 2 of these pics along with the photos that I have taken on my One.
Any way to be able to see all my photos in the gallery?

seems like your having a similar issue to me. Would you mind downloading an image off the net from your phone and saving it to your downloads and see if it appears in gallery?

Well... good news is... it's trivial... I am sure it will get worked out by someone non-noobish (not me) soon.
In the meantime... badass phone
go to "my photos" then change it to "albums"
Tried this... No joy.

Move the pics you don't want included in timeline to a nomedia folder (.facebook pics) or something, or just delete them. Then clear the data for both the gallery app and the camera app, Settings - Apps, hit force close door both and they should be gone.
