I already mentioned Odin and the I tried 30.7 and the previous versions

no, Odin is a tool for flashing files to your phone.
What are you flashing?

Use this method as it's pain free.
Why use this Root Method? Well the main reasons are:
- You have a complete Odin Flashable ROM Package.
- No Insecure Kernels are used or required.
- You can flash these packages on Non-Rooted devices
- The Binary Flash Counter will NOT increase when flashing these ROM Packages.
- The Red Exclamation Mark will NOT appear at boot up.
- And finally, you only have to flash one file in Odin and you have a complete firmware including Root Permissions.
What Root Package is used in these ROMs?
- Busybox 1.20.2 (Newer ROMs)
- SuperSU 0.99 (Newer ROMs)
Previously released ROMs may have an older Busybox and SuperSU package installed.

Hi Rudi !
It is normal, if you flash with flashtool .ftf file, you lose root access. you must to be already rooted, have a recovery installed and flash the pre rooted zip if you want to keep root access. .ftf is à completely stock file. I don't use flashtool to flash .zip rom, I use twrp recovery for that. Maybe it is possible but I don't use it this way so I don't know and don't want to tell you something wrong about flashtool.
From my experience, if you are already root, you have just to install nut's xzdr recovery, you'll have full access to flash a pre root .zip rom built with super su and xzdr inside, to flash with twrp. So nothing to do more, you are already rooted with your old firmware and you keep root with a new firmware inside pre rooted .zip.
Hi ! Thanks for your fast answer. I hoped to gain root access the easy way, but it seems that I have to do more than just one install Br, Rudi

You're welcome, Sony devices are a bit more complicated with steps to obtain root than other brand mark, just some things to know ?.
here You will can find all French updates for sgp621 when it is available .

Thanks. Any idea why after flashing twice my build number doesn't seem to change? The update doesn't seem to work despite twrp saying successful.

I don't know why, for me it worked at the first time. I don't exclude that I've done a mistake with uploading a wrong file but I need to know which file has the problem if there is one at least.
So what is your current system? Do you have a tablet sgp621? Are you root? What do you try to flash ? The .ftf with flashtool or .zip with twrp? My .zip files are signed, sometimes it appears that there are some problems with that (seen it for other Xperia device).
Maybe I'd suggest you to flash the 5.0.2 v.28 (.ftf with flashtool), to root it (with kingroot 4.1 and supersume), flash xzdr 2.8.21 (Pc version) and after flash the prerooted Rom of your choice with twrp.

Hi again !
Finally I took the time to go through all necessary preparation steps to finally have your prerooted firmware on my SGP621.
Works very welly so far including Root, with one exception: no SD card access.
I had this before and solved it with App NextApp SDFix, but this time it doesn't work.
Reason is that even with ES Explorer I can not get write access to change /system/etc/permissions/platform.xml.
One solution would be to flash an updated version of this file, but I'm still hesitating.
Seems this also blocks AdAway installation.
Anybody who has had the same experience and a solution for it ?
Thx !

I encounter the same thing for sd write access, after installing sd fix from playstore, but not for all applications, opera for example doesn't work, share downloader works very well to download directly on sd. I use file commander and no problem to cut, copy, erase video, photos from and to sd card.
I use adguard for ads so I can't speak about AdAway, xposed module of AdAway for YouTube works very well, also YouTube background.

How can I root the newer stock 23.4.A.1.232 .ftf so I can install the custom recovery?

is ROOT(ing) possible without re-install the whole phone?

Hi,
Is ROOT(ing) possible without re-install the whole phone?
Information and links are welcome
Use kingroot, its on xda.
Then use super sume to remove the Chinese elements and replace with SuperSU.
Thanks for you suggestion!
Unfortunately it does not work on my (SM-G800F) Phone even it is listed as a supported device.
Also no luck with the KingRoot v3.0 Desktop version.
Anyone have the knowledge for rooting this phone whithout re-install everithing on it?
Sorry I too have an 800F and its worked a great for me.

If we use @Chainfire methode to root our device, do we need to re-install all our apps as it would on a new clean install or wil all our apps still be there after a re-boot ?
No you will NOT loose any data.

So sorry for the late reply. No the chainfire method does not wipe any data or applications. Just flash the file and it will root and do everything itself. Hench the name "autoroot."
Thanks for making this clear!
Okay, so we need to use ODIN v3.xx and put the phone in download mode by pressing Vol-Down + Home + Power button till it comes into recovery mode, having ODIN already running with administrator rights and than plug-in the micro-usb cable.
I guess we need to use PDA button to load the file, do we have to tick other options as well ?
Thanks for the help !!!!

Hi, I'm a little bit confused here. Are we talking about the same context, i.e., an SM-G800[x] running Android 5.1.1? The landing page of the official repository states explicitly that "CF-AUTO-ROOT IS CURRENTLY NOT OPERATIONAL FOR ANDROID 6.0+, OR SAMSUNG ON ANDROID 5.1+".
Besides that, the download page doesn't list Lollipop versions, only 4.4.x.
Cheers
@RGold55
Yes there is only 4.4.2 supported
Read the obove text line: CF-Auto-Root Repository

So you did ok by rooting your G800 KK Android, as I did to mine last year, with that very same flashable. But, alas, CF-Autoroot for Lollipop is still in the dream stage.

Cannot root with latest firmware. Am I doing something wrong?

I tried TWRP and installing two different versions of SuperSU and that failed, I tried downloading kingoroot APK or what ever and installed and ran that. It came up saying no strategy or something and was unable to root my phone. What am I doing wrong? I never had these issues on my S4 mini?
Can someone give me some guidance on how I can get my SuperSU back up and running on this new phone? It's the SM-G800F and it's country code thing is DBT which I might flash to H3G as soon as I get the firmware downloaded.

Change the kernel? I have no experience with that, can you provide more details? Also, I was finally able to root with some CM auto thing I got. I think the same guy who does SuperSU made it. TWRP totally failed at letting me root by installing the zip.

I have the SM-G800F which appears at least, to be locked to DBT region. I had a hell of a time trying to flash it to H3G so the pre-boot encryption keyboard would be in English but the flash failed and I had to flash DBT again to make the phone work, so I am a bit skittish about flashing with anything other than official DBT firmware or recoveries.
What are the pros and cons of flashing a kernel on my phone and what levels of bricking-risks?

First of all: which model Tab S2 do you have? You need the the recovery that matches you Tab model. I also used the latest SuperSU beta, link
http://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/supersu/2014-09-02-supersu-v2-05-t2868133
1. I first flashed MM 6.0.1 using Odin, the I booted.
2. Flashed TWRP (latest) via Odin.
3. Booted into recovery and flashed SuperSU and Xposed. Everything seems to work fine.

Thank you for your reply, but I already sorted it out. I flashed the CF autoroot from this link https://autoroot.chainfire.eu/ and it works perfectly. No need to flash twrp.
Sorry to resurrect this but since this thread largely answers me I just had one question.
Autoroot's website says :
UNLOCK BOOTLOADERS
If you have locked bootloaders, flashing one of these will probably brick your device
I have the SM-T710 running stock OTA 6.0.1. Website says brick if bootloader is locked. Just trying to clarify if I can run Autoroot or not. Having lost a PC this week I don't want to add a tablet to the graveyard.
You'll be fine.

Ah, ic.
Still cannot root my phone even with other rooting tools (not try furious gold chimera yet, doesn't have it). But thanks for you @diart & @zogu anyway. you two give us hope that there's any possibility to root our AT&T S6 Edge phone.
Can someone tell me how to do it, please?
Boot image from first post is engineering boot image and it should works with all 6.0 firmwares.
I'm new to samsung, but i read that with this image is possible to remount system rw. Well on AT&T is impossible.
It is impossible to root phone with this image, but we can do a lot of useful things using adb, disable aps with pm disable, we have full access to data partition, making backups etc...
Actually i don't need root at all, i hate branding (specially if that includes some services, like at&t mail, phonebook...) on any device and i want to change firmware to some international.
All this is maybe possible with eng sboot. There is online available for 12 usd and this is not expensive, but i'm still not shure will i be able to change sboot to 925f.
Theoretically it should boot any kernel and recovery without even tripping knox, and maybe with this image is possible to install twrp, kernel, root and everything else. But also sometimes everything does not work (i read that with eng sboot fingerprint sensor does not work, it probably skip keys reading, without keys no fingerprint).
If someone is able to get sboot pj1 or pf1, please send me PM
P.S. One good thing with this eng boot is that my network selection menu has much more bands, even when i restored stock kernel. Don;t konow how, but it is there

my friend im flashing this file but odin md5 error binary is invalid ? how to fix ?
Just rename from md5 to tar. File name should be sm-g925a_uca_601.tar, flash it using odin (AP) and that's it.
