Every time I restart my phone, it forgets all the home screen settings. When it starts back up, it asks which launcher I want to use (I prefer ADW EX), and when it gets to the home screen, all widgets and wallpapers are gone. I thought it might have something to do with ADW, so I restarted the phone, and chose the stock launcher. Again, all widgets were gone and the wall paper was changed.
Any clue why this is happening?

Weird. I'm totally stock and not rooted.

Tried to install CM6.1 with the launcher 2 option but after install my phone just hangs at the cm logo animation. I can feel the vibration from unlocking the phone when I touch the area that it should be in. I would just use the ADW launcher but they switched the belete icon and uninstall short cut to appear at The top of the screen rather than dragging it to the app drawer. I have replaced the app drawer 5 times now because of that and I have to reinstall each time because there isn't an option to bring it back or just lock it there. I don't like launcher pro so don't suggest it. I can make dew and just remember not to do that but a way to load launcher 2 stick would be nice

I figured out how to get the app drawer back after deleting it. for those that have not here is a video

If you were like me and didn't want to try Widgetlocker because it broke NoLED (or vice versa) both apps have now been updated to work together. And work well they do.
This is my first experience with Widgetlocker and I see what all the praise is about. It really is the perfect lockscreen customizer. I've set up a Sense style lock with themed Android sliders for camera and volume controls. Looks great and the options are endless.
Two of the best app devs have worked together to make my phone much more functional and enjoyable. Big thanks to both. Support them if you can.

As far as I know no. The dev has said that he doesn't own a NS and it appears to be a hardware limitation of the phone.

Have you tried the delay SMS notifications setting in NoLED? I don't use popups anymore but that did it for me when I was. Not sure how that interacts with Widgetlocker now though.
For your Widgets not sticking did you try to enable to startup option in WL?
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA Premium App
The dev does own a nexus s, he contacted noled to update widgetlocker and have them work together.
Being able to manage the keys would make noled outstanding.
Doesn't noled drain ur battery to have the screen come on for notification til you get to it?

Yeah, I've tried pretty much every combination of NoLED, WidgetLocker and SMSPopup settings and doesn't quite work work together.... :-(
When I'm on system settings my Widgets stay... but when I use my themed Widgets, they keep disappearing.
Something I noticed today. NoLED only seems to work if the default lockscreen is disabled thru Widgetlocker.
Also a few times my screen is on and I get a message NoLED will activate and interrupt me. Not sure if that's a bug or something I've done wrong in the settings.

Im in the same boat beautiful widgets, simiclock, even my power control disappears. Its really making me feel like this was a bad purchase...
Try stock Widgets.... they stay after reboots.

This is the only thing that's keeping me from using NoLED, other than that it would be a kick ass application.

Not as much as you would think. As the majority of the screen is black, and it takes no power to show black (or very, very, negligible) on a SAMOLED screen the battery drain is pretty small. Now, as it is though the Home, Back, Menu and Search buttons also light up which wouldn't help things.
ill try later with the 7 laucher.
OK I am going to try NoLED now.
As far as the Widgets disappearing from WidgetLocker it is due to a conflict with the Theme Chooser in CM7. I have been working with the Dev of WidgetLocker for a little while to diagnose the problem. It was finally confirmed that it is Theme Chooser causing the problem. If you go back to stock theme everything should work fine. Personally I just re add my widgets cause I love my theme
I only have problems with haxzmatics theme... all other themes that come with cm7, the widgets stay.

That is my theme of choice also
Have you tried any other theme that does not come with CM7? I have tried a couple from the market and the widgets disappear with those also.

That's odd. I don't even use any themed widgets. The only one I use on the lockscreen is AgendaWidget
This device continues to frustrate and confound me at every turn. I have tried many times to change the dreadful lock screen wallpaper and it just refuses to change it? I have tried both Go Launcher and the stock TW Launcher to no avail. I cannot wait for people to develop some better ROM for this thing. I think it really wants to be a great device but Samsung & AT& T just don't want us to be happy with it I guess.
settings>screen>screen display>lockscreen>wallpaper
I have done that multiple times still the stock bluish lock screen remains???

Dude, take a deep breath.
Go into Settings/Display/Screen. Do you see where you can change the font and homescreen wallpaper? On that same sub-menu there's another area for lockscreen wallpaper. Click it, it'll take you to the wallpaper cropper. Once you've cropped the image in the wallpaper cropper, be sure to hit OK in the upper right of the screen to save and set.
Alternatively, go into Gallery, find a picture you like, open the menu, it'll give you the option to set as either a homescreen or lockscreen wallpaper, then go through the standard crop process.
Lockscreen Wallpaper is NOT handled by the launcher code, it's an OS level action, FYI.

Croak,
I am by no means an expert but I have been messing with this stuff for a while and I have tried everything including what you mentioned. It does not change no matter what I try. It isn't the biggest deal in the world but I would like to be able to change that ugly lock screen background.
If you've done what I said, and it doesn't work, then something is borked on YOUR SPECIFIC UNIT. Lockscreen wallpaper changing is **** easy in Honeycomb, and it worked fine on both my Tab 8.9 LTE units, Bell and AT&T, both before and after flashing/rooting/overclocking.
If it really bothers you, backup and then factory reset, and if that doesn't help, move on to a reflash of the AT&T firmware. Guarantee that one or the other will solve your problem.
I take it you ARE seeing the option to change in Settings and in Gallery? If so, I suspect it's a permissions issue, and could be an artifact of the ADB fun you had when rooting and overclocking.
Can you fix permissions through adb?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I957 using xda premium
You can, but we have no idea what exactly is fracked, hence the nuclear factory reset option. It's the only way to be sure.
I did a factory reset and can now change the wallpaper. But I lost root and everything else is setup previously what a PIA! Oh well guess I have to re-rooted and start over. On a good note the market seems to work better now was having issues with it loading slow and hanging.

Shouldn't have to re-root, just download SuperUser from the Market.

Yea factory reset shouldn't change the kernel

Well it completely wiped everything. I did the factory reset from the UI not from recovery. No biggie I just reconfigured it from scratch. I found the problem was Quickpic which I like much better than the OEM gallery. But when I set Quickpic to default image handler it borked the lock screen wallpaper option. Once I cleared the defaults and used the gallery I was able to change the wallpaper no problem. Weird issue but I have learned that with Android nothing is surprising.
Hi all xoomers out there. The issue I'm having is this: once I launch the ADWlauncher ex app obviously the home screens change and everything changes including theme. No problem so far. The issue is whenever I hit the home button from whatever screen I'm currently on it defaults back to the stock launcher. So then I have to open the app drawer and launch ADW again to reapply its settings and theme. How do I correct this annoying feature?

Install launcher switcher from the android market (its free) then clear launcher defaults and then finally select adw as your default.
OK I will try that out and see how it goes...

I agree...the other option is to use titanium or bloat freezer to freeze your stock home app.
or find the launcher in setting >apps and clear defaults. Should allow u you to re select adw

Had a quick search online and in xda but couldn't find much, few posts on a forum elsewhere.
I'm running nova launcher and can change my home wallpaper with ease. The lock screen is a different matter.
From settings > personalisation > lock screen
I can change to any of the standard Sony wallpapers, if I try and use my own it never changes. Anyone else found this? Have I missed something obvious :s
On .534 as no update for me yet, and no requirement to root yet.
i think this problem on nova launcher. becuase i use go launcher i can change my own pict on lock screen.
try go launcher, i very reccoment go launcher + go notification. with little setting your phone will fast and smooth(i has been use apex after try go ex, i never looking to other >< just my oponion.)

Nah, just cleared the defaults and rebooted. Using the standard Sony home, still can't select any other 3rd party or user wallpaper.
I'll try go in a bit, but if even stock software can't change it then it looks to be a bug?
Edit: no change, didn't think it would. Prefer nova over go from that short test but something to play around with.
Looks like an android issue than launcher
any locksceen app installed?

Yep, tried that as well. It's stock and not rooted. I've no want to root yet.
Which fw are you on? 534?

factory reset, if not help, flash firmware again...

I'm also running nova launcher and stock .534 but i haven't had a problem switching wallpapers on the lockscreen. I've used camera generated photos and zedge wallpapers.

Sorted it.
I use quickpic as an album replacement app. Cleared the defaults and use the Sony album to crop then pictures and working as it should.
Something between quickpic and the os which didn't talk well I guess.
