Did you activate home from facebook settings. Log on to facebook go to setting at very bottom activate it.

Works! Not sure I like it though...

I found out that with Facebook home if you set your other (whichever your using) launcher (I use Nova) instead of fb home as you permanent launcher ans still leave fb home active then it takes the place of your lock screen. Looks really nice.
Well it works for me on Ice Cold 8.8 and worked for me as well on Open Kang. So I see no reason why it should do the same with all other roms though I haven't tried a Sense rom lock screen.

Facebook Home replaces the Sense lock screen. That seems to me not very comfortable.

It was just an idea for those who would like fb home but don't want it as their default launcher. Also you do know that the lock screen is not for security purpose unless you PIN it. Its purpose is to just lock phone from mistakenly activating any apps or butt dialing. So there really is no reason for anyone to feel uncomfortable about it.

Just installed it for a longer look this morning. It really grows on you. I normally don't spend a lot of time w/ Facebook so this is a great way to see updates.

Very good. As for the ROM?

I've used the UNOFFICIAL CM10.1 JellyBean Nightlies / M-series and it is simply the best for my Inspire. The nightly builds for ALL of the JB ROMS seem to mess with GPS or Bluetooth, so I just gave up on them entirely. I'm a flashaholic and try everything, but this is the daily driver... No bugs

thanks for sharing .. will try it

works on my dhd, just if this work on unrooted samsung galaxy tab 7". Im planning to install on my wife tablet.

[ROM] Lithium Mod 0.0.4 in ROM Manager

Note: I am in no way associated with the authors of this ROM.
While perusing ROM Manager this morning I stumbled upon a new entry. Attempts to uncover any useful details about the 0.0.4 release of Lithium Mod proved fruitless, and yet curiosity got the best of me (as it musually does with my Inc). I've installed It and thus far am impressed with a lean, stable AOSP build with some interesting tweaks built in.
Please reply with any usage reports or pertinent details concerning this release, whether it be stock or modded in any way you see fit.
Obligatory link:

Attributes discovered thus far:
-Customized power menu
-Nifty boot animation
-15 second boot time
-310MB free memory on boot
-Red Clock font I can't change?

Very sure, actually reflashed it (and am still on it) to make sure. This is all I have in the app drawer:
Browser, calculator, calendar, camera, clock, contacts, dev tools, email, gallery, lithiummod, messaging, music, phone, search, settings, spareparts, speech recorder, superuser, voice dialer.
I even went to a site (appbrain) and tried to download a random app (astro free) from market and it brought me to a page saying "Web page not available The Web page at market://details? id=com.metago.astro&referrer=utm_source might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address. Here are some suggestions: Check to make sure your device has a signal and data connection Reload this web page later. View a cached copy of the web page from Google"... I have the blue version of Lithium, if that matters at all. Is it just hidden somewhere obscure? I've looked around in dev tools and lithiummod, but maybe it was too general? Either way, I don't see market under settings>applications>manage applications>all... So yeah, any help?
EDIT: Downloaded Astro from 4Shared, so I could access Titanium and install it, so I can get all of my other apps, just not market lol...
Need to install Google apps

[Q] Multiple Launcher Problem

I am having a problem with multiple launchers installed on my phone. If I install another launcher (launcherPro, adw, etc.) The resolver activity shows up like it is supposed to. I select a default (it doesn't matter which) and it does what it is supposed to do. After about 5 minutes, the phone forgets that I have selected a default, and if I hit home button, the resolver shows up again. This will happen every 5 minutes until i uninstall everything except sense.
Anyone else experience this, or know of any fixes?
I got my vivid on Sunday and since the minute I turned it on, I had adw ex. Haven't run into the phone wanting to use sense over and over.

^this , OR are you using the task killer and just pushing "kill all" ? i found that was killing adw ex, and i had to break the habit of just pushing that magical button and instead hit all the little x's and close the apps manually...
hope this helps,
-Dagnus
no task killers. I did a factory reset, and that didn't fix the problem. I think I am just going to live with it. Hopefully we get a permanent root and custom recovery soon. I figure it is a software problem that will disappear once I get on a new ROM.
An update: Digging through logcat, I have figured out it is the HTC Messages app that is clearing the default. I am on the phone with HTC now, but not holding my breath. The 1st level tech support had not idea what I was talking about, and when I mentioned logcat it really threw her.
Can someone confirm this by installing another launcher and firing up HTC Messages and see what happens?
You mean the stock messaging app? I'm using launcher 7 right now with stock messaging app. Works fine.
Sent from my HTC PH39100
What build number are you using pg? I have confirmed that the way htc is launching the stock messaging app screws up the home preference. I can duplicate it with a custom app i wrote.

Have you tried a hard reset yet?
edit: by the way i'm using adw ex, no problems

HTC Mirror Application - How to Get it Back in ICS

I'm not sure how many people really care but when upgrading to ICS, you may note that the Mirror application is no longer there...or so it seems. If you'd like to get that Mirror application back for the Narcissus in us, just flash this right after flashing the ROM. It's been tested on the WCX Generic build.
I posted this over at WCX also.
Couldn't you just open up your camera app and use the front facing camera?
But thanks for uploading it for people that actually do use or want it.

True, you could.
Also if you are using nova launcher the mirror app is in your app drawer.

Or you could push the search button and type mirror and it will show up

I was able to create a shortcut for it with Launch-X. Not sure why it's hidden, but it is still in ICS.

Nexus 7 For The Elderly

An elderly relative of mine shall be getting herself a Nexus 7 tomorrow, which she plans to use mainly for e-Reading plus a bit of media usage in the form of BBC iPlayer. I was looking for an easy-to-use interface for her. Any launcher recommendations or simple customisations to make it just a little bit easier? I am sure she could use it as is, but making it easier so I don't have to teach her so much will be good.
How elderly? Talk back might be nifty. I tried it once, it was annoying as hell though

Instructions are poor. You get a quick startup guide on paper and then have to open the book section to read the user manual. I find it harder to learn about a system when I an constantly flipping from the manual to a page to try out what I was reading.

I was more just on about launchers which would allow her to have a nice, clean UI that isn't too cluttered.
Anyone know of such a launcher?

Thanks. I can install Apex on my Galaxy Note, so I'll fiddle around and see what I can do on it.
Just empty the desktop from every single icon . Than..
1.on home screen Add icons that this person will use the most e.g BBC iPlayer (not sure bits going to work without flash), chrome, play store and a nice looking clock widget or something
2. Set each other screen with categories e.g one for books where you place the appropriate widgets and icons . One for videos and one for whatever else like notes calendar and other productivity ....
3. Do that person a favour and download some games .. yes games . You'd be surprised how often older people like to play ... ideal games would be mahjong, card games , also things like Bejeweled ,Zuma, scrabble type games
Stock android launcher is good enough trust me you just have to know how to organise it. Also wait for chameleon that might change things

Rom Wish List / Idea

Now that I have root, and can at least flash zips through OpenRecoveryScript, I have been thinking about what I want out this rom, but got me thinking about an idea. While we have kitchens in the past, I do not think anyone has ever done a web-based kitchen. i.e. select the options you want on a web-page and it compiles the zip in the background and then lets you download.
This has been done for years in the programming industry for frameworks (jquery, etc)..
Anyways... Here are some ideas of my dream rom
Options
carousel mode
Screen on with text
Remove HTC apps (Blink Feed, Kid Mode, etc)
Remove stock apps (Mail, browser, etc)
Remove all languages except one you use
Move Google apps outside of /system/ that way they can be added and deleted as needed.
Remove live wall papers
Add common community apps such as Wi-F Tether, etc
Basically build a base rom with the stand rom featuers, zip-aligned, de-odexed, tweaks, etc...
I know alot of this is an option with AROMA installer, but by doing it this way, it makes the download that much smaller.....
Thoughts??
I vote we go for kernel source and get CM, omni, carbon, cfxperiment ect going Personal opinion
I'll add to the list
Alternative (or combine) LTE/Spark icons
Alternative battery icon with %
Remove NFC icon
Xposed Installer
Exchange Security Bypass
I would love a Bad Boyz rom for the m8,it was great on the m7.
Sent from my HTC One
I just want something to flash lol. Insert coin was my dd on the m7.
Sent from my 831C using Tapatalk
Well, for stock, I'd love everything removed that you could get from the play store, and a folder separate with removed apps if you wanted them.
Aroma is cool and all, but takes longer than this method.
Configurable buttons and long press options.
Oh, and an amazing kernel!
I made a stripped down rom for the gs3 called BareBones and I'll probably make a similar rom for this phone as well.
Beanstalk, my dd from the jewel. But it is CM based so we need that first.
Delete (wrong thread)
auto hide soft keys - like when you launch the camera app.

Dude, I remember you from the Evo 3D days. I see you're still trolling around....
For what its worth Myn now has a HTC one M8 and may start developing again. For those that remember Warm rom will know his work quality. He is on VZW now but I will try to help as much as I can with mine. Him coming back to HTC is what motivated me to loose the Nexus 5 and return to HTC.
I would like to see the app drawer smooth scroll instead of by pages....I hate haveing to stretch for a icon at the top of screen when I could have had it in middle or more accessible
