Xperia Z is playstatiion Certified. Can anybody tell me...does God of War. Infamous, Assain Creed (all Playstation Games ) can run on Xperia Z?
I'm pretty sure the xperia z lacks the hardware to even play ps2 games efficiently let alone ps3 titles. When Sony announced it was play station certified they probably only meant for ps1 titles, like they did with the psp.

Dont why sont has certified Xperia Z as playstation compatiable..wheres as we cant play PS games on it.
Oh u see now (I don't own the z but I know what it looks like). They probably meant that it was certified to be used as a Bluetooth controller of sorts for your play station, although I'm not sure about the trigger aspect of the controller.

i bought Sony Xperia Z. thought that i can play station games.. Even Cus Care of Sony , they are not clear about it..
Playstation certified means access to the sony mobile store to download select mobile games and PS1 titles (at least that is what i remembered them saying). Nothing about PS3 as the phone does not have the specialised hardware required to run ps3 games locally and the ps3 does not have game streaming capabilities(like the PS4). So calm down a little with the expectations.
Whatever...my thinking was different..as play station certified Device. I have to satisfied with the Android HD games.
Sagar, ps store not available in India. It's available in other countries and they can play ps1 Games!

I use a Bluetooth PS3 sixaxis controler to play all my games. Very convenient and programable.
You'll need to use a dedicated BT driver you can find on the market : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dancingpixelstudios.sixaxiscontroller
It's perfect to play any Emulator
Greetings,
Thinking of buying a PS3 DS3 controller for gaming on my Xperia Z, viewing on my Samsung 42inch HDTV via MHL adaptor.
I have searched this forum and Google in general but cannot find an answer to my question.
Can anyone who has the DS3 set up with their Xperia Z tell me this..
As well as using the DS3 for gaming, can you also navigate the Android OS using the controller? Can you use it in non-game apps like YouTube, Play Store, Play Music etc?
Would be cool if I could :good:
Thanks
I had played it only for a while, just for fun and yes, I was completely able to navigate whole OS using DS3. I hadnt checked if it does work with youtube etc, Im guessing it does.

Fantastic, thanks. I just ordered my PS3 controller. Will be interesting to see if it can be used with the apps mentioned.
Let's make a list
1. Grand theft auto San Andreas
2. Asphalt 8
3. Dead trigger 2
Best way to know if a game supports controllers is to.download the tegra zone app and filter games with controller support. It's that simple. And yes, the support is universal which means almost all bluetooth controllers.

Hi,
time ago I have buyed the medievil game on the ps store on my xperia s. Now I have seen that xperia z1 is playstation certified, but in the playstation store I can't find the psx games that were in xperia s.
The PS store has morphed into a collection of sub par third party apps/games. I remember it on the S as well and while the selection was limited, at least the games were PS titles.

I'm getting tired of getting killed using the touch screen controls. Any recommendations on controllers to play the game? Thanks guys.

Yup - root+ sixaxis widget + ps3 controller is the best solution, especially for the amount of buttons the ps3 controller has. However, before I rooted, I got one of these on sale (not cheap otherwise!) and it's amazing for Shadowgun (haven't tried many other games with it however): http://steelseries.com/products/other/steelseries-free-mobile-wireless-controller
Amazing little thing, great feel and I'm surprised by the quality. Also, cross-platform compatibility (Android, iOS and Windows, for example). I had my doubts, but after using it for awhile... wow. Such a small controller should not perform so well!
HOWEVER: keep in mind that Android compatibility is still spotty with controllers, especially if you do not have root. You'll need a game that either explicitly tells you that it is compatible with the controller of your choice (ie. "compatible with Moga controllers" ) OR has some way to map controls manually in the game. I haven't tried your game, so check first. In Shadowgun and NOVA, for example, in game settings you're able to map buttons. So even without root, you can plug a ps3 controller in via the dock's USB port and map away. Or pair the Free controller and you're off.
If you DO have root, I think there might be ways to emulate touch controllers with root and sixaxis, but I haven't tried. Unless someone else can speak to how well this works? Theoretically, this enables you to play games that aren't even designed for controllers.
Hope this helps!
