Hello everyone.
Thought I would post this not sure if any of you are using this, quick overview if you are running gta3 on Xoom and have a spare USB controller / ps3 controller or a windows Xbox control receiver you can use this to control the game..
.
I have searched a few places and no own really knows the configurations so I hooked up my bt keyboard and synced up my Xbox 360 keys
I have attached the file just extract the xml file from the attached rar file and put this on the root of your SD in a folder called USBJoyData open up the program USB/BT JOYSTICK and click impor.
it that's it then play GTA enjoy..
Video Tutorial Below (Apologies for my boring voice)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ExOnY0Ek3ho&feature=youtu.be
If you wish to manually setup the buttons please see my config below. The below shows what actions these buttons have on the keyboard.
For instance if you have an XBOX controller if you want to use R2 for accelerate. Scroll to the Number 1 and press R2 this key is now associated with Accelerate
1 - Accelerate
2 - Punch / Shoot
3 - Brake
4 - Enter / Exit Vehicle
5 - Change Radio Station
6 - Change Weapon
7 - Handbrake
ENTER - Start Button
I will try to update this thread as much as possible with new configurations for different games please feel free to send me request..
And please remember to say thanks if this was helpful
Special Thanks to Poke64738 for this amazing application

Does this work with Jelly Bean?
I got a nexus 7(not rooted) and a Logitech f310 controller, when i connect the controller it works on the home screen, when i launch grand theft auto 3, the camera spin around. is there a way to get this controller to work with grand theft auto 3?
Anyone got a answer?

If I was to root my nexus 7, will the controller work?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
There is a known issue with the gamepad layout file that causes this. You have to be rooted to replace the file with the fixed version. It is not game specific as it effects most games and controllers.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda premium
So after I root, how do I fix the game controller file, and where do I get the file.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
I also would like to know the fix so I can use tablet remote app to use my phone as a controller for emulators. The app works with everything but emulators. I have tried keymapping without luck
Do a search for wireless xbox controller fix. Should be the same.

The fix is explained very well their.
Hope this helps.

The SixAxis app uses bluetooth to connect your Playstation 3 controller, I have it working on my rooted N7105.
Try the SixAxis compatability checker first to check whether your phone will run SixAxis
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dancingpixelstudios.sixaxiscompatibilitychecker
I have read that you can use a usb otg cable to plug a playstation or xbox 360 controller in to your phone but I haven't tried that.
There are also MOGA controllers that were released last month but there are limited games that work with the controller.
Another new controller is Nyko.
If you have a Playstation 3 controller and you phone is rooted then the sixaxis app is definitely the cheapest and best way forward.

Yeah, if you have OTG cable, Note 2 will recognize the ps3 controller wired with no additional software.

Another option is to use the free app wiimote controller in the app store to connect a wii remote via Bluetooth.. You can use the standard wii controller if you only need two buttons. Or you can use the Wii classic controller or Classic controller pro if you need a more PS3/Xbox like controller. My daughter had the Wii classic controller pro lying around, so I didn't have to buy anything. Its works fine on my Gnex and Nexus 7 (waiting on Note 2) with NES, SNES, PSX, and N64 emulators and some apps from the app store that allow you to choose your input method.

I have xbox360 controllers and from what I read it works out of the box with the wireless transmitter.
My question is does it work with normal android games or just with emulators?
Sent from my GT-N7100 using Tapatalk 2
Some games have controller support. A list of games that work with controllers can be found here:
http://www.videomap.it/forum/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=4
moga, 8bitty, iMpulse
go to google and see which fits you. The other solutions mentioned are great as well.
I definetly tell that PS3 sixaxis bluetooth gamepad + "Sixaxis Controller" (~1,5$) with touch emulation makes every games compatible.
It's really amazing ! Trust me you won't regret ! ^^

No, it doesn't make all games compatible. There are some games that still cannot be matched due to how the controls are set up. I'll grant you a huge number are able to work, but not every game. Spreading overly optimistic untruths isn't helping the OP or anyone else make a good decision about which controller to get.
(PS3 controller + Root and Sixaxis is my favourite though)
Well i was maybe too much optimistic but despite the fact that the sixaxis ps3 gamepad have 'only' 10 buttons two joysticks and a cross to map on the screen .. i understand that you cannot play easily a game that have plenty of buttons ... But with the sixaxis controller software you can also enable mouse support (as for me i use the right joystick plus r1/r2 for left and right click) and i can assure you that you can play any game !
Tell me what game you cannot use with this solution ? I'll take a look for you ...

No, it doesn't.
Nyko playpad pro looks good to me. Ive been doing lots of hunting online for a decent gamepad myself. Moga, snakebyte idroid, nyko playpad pro. Are the 3 wireless dual analogue stick android controllers ive been looking at it seems there are advantages and disadvantages to all of them. check em out on you tube and see which works for u. It seems there all due to be released here in the uk soon if your in the usa there released already. The nyko playpad pro is available in sainsburys in the uk on the 7th of december for £44.99.
Android gaming and game controllers is work in progress there doesnt seem to be one to use with every game yet as the games themselves have to support controllers the controllers have apps which are supposed to let you remap your buttons for games which dont support controllers but this is not full proof yet.

Well i started playing a little bit more games on my 2X and i am tired of touch screen. Wants the best way to play games on your phone? I mean best controler like PS3s ot something like that?
AW: [Q] Best gaming controler
I'm using an iControlPad for smartphone gaming and it's just awesome.
Theres a pad made specialy for android phones and tablets in the market, but they only work with android 4.0+
Btw, in the end i prefer using my xbox controller

I use a Bluetooth PS3 sixaxis controler to play all my games. Very convenient and programable.
You'll need to use a dedicated BT driver you can find on the market : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dancingpixelstudios.sixaxiscontroller
It's perfect to play any Emulator
I'm getting tired of getting killed using the touch screen controls. Any recommendations on controllers to play the game? Thanks guys.

Yup - root+ sixaxis widget + ps3 controller is the best solution, especially for the amount of buttons the ps3 controller has. However, before I rooted, I got one of these on sale (not cheap otherwise!) and it's amazing for Shadowgun (haven't tried many other games with it however): http://steelseries.com/products/other/steelseries-free-mobile-wireless-controller
Amazing little thing, great feel and I'm surprised by the quality. Also, cross-platform compatibility (Android, iOS and Windows, for example). I had my doubts, but after using it for awhile... wow. Such a small controller should not perform so well!
HOWEVER: keep in mind that Android compatibility is still spotty with controllers, especially if you do not have root. You'll need a game that either explicitly tells you that it is compatible with the controller of your choice (ie. "compatible with Moga controllers" ) OR has some way to map controls manually in the game. I haven't tried your game, so check first. In Shadowgun and NOVA, for example, in game settings you're able to map buttons. So even without root, you can plug a ps3 controller in via the dock's USB port and map away. Or pair the Free controller and you're off.
If you DO have root, I think there might be ways to emulate touch controllers with root and sixaxis, but I haven't tried. Unless someone else can speak to how well this works? Theoretically, this enables you to play games that aren't even designed for controllers.
Hope this helps!
