Ok, I've searched a million threads and can't find one that helps with this issue.
I've gotten the SDK drivers for fastboot/adb from several different places, including the SDK itself, but none of them are ever recognized.
I plug in my Nexus, it recognizes "Android 1.0" and says the driver was not installed successfully. When I manually point Windows to where the drivers are, it still says they are not found. As I said, I've tried several driver downloads and I'm at a loss. Is there a fix for this?
Did you perhaps try the PDANet drivers?
Those are the drivers that worked for me on 64-bit Windows 7.
.... and there was a thread somewhere that mentioned that. Lemme see if I can find it.
The PDANet drivers are the ones you want.

http://www.junefabrics.com/android/download.php are the drives you need;
They're referenced in the Sticky thread at the top of this forum.
Also, there was a thread I answered in the exact same manner yesterday I believe...

Do you have the right drivers installed ??
How to know this ? . well easy , just go into device manager ( hardware ) and you will see this :
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
IF NOT , then connect your phone > goto device manager again and search for the yellow question mark ( don't remember how exactly its name appears ) and > right click > update driver software ... and use the right drivers ( RS link below ) ... If everything went good , then you will see the picture above, as is suppoused to be , and you will be ready to continue ...
DRIVERS:
These are for win7 64bits ( same as mine )
http://rapidshare.com/files/371688231/usb_driver.zip > UNZIP them in a known folder @ desktop maybe , and have them ready to use when updating the missing driver ...
Good luck !
Silly question, but you do have USB debugging mode on, yes?

Hey all, got a Kindle FireHD, can't get ADB to install correctly.
I'm on Win8 Pro. I booted Win8 into Test Mode, installed the Kindle ADB, and then got the error below:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Can anyone please help me? I even installed it by clicking "Run as Admin", and still the same.
Edit: And the Kindle doesn't show up in My Computer. It did, until I messed with the ADB drivers, and now I can't access it's internal memory from My Computer.
And I get the below info when I go into device mgmt.

Yes basically it has the full Windows 7 experience, but then you can switch to another menu which is the "Metro". But yes it shows in device manager as Kindle ADB.

Stupid question but did you try to run adb in the cmd line.. If not try and see if any devices are listed. Try stopping server, starting server, then type adb devices. If there is a device listed than your in business. It seems to me like its working since its listed in the device manager, although I do not have experience with windows 8 and I have heard that it has a lot of bugs with these drivers..:good:

Introduction
♦ Hello neXus noobies, this thread presents a simple yet helpful package for all nexus users.
♦ This package consists so far of 4 main elements:
Latest Android Debugging Bridge (ADB)
Fastboot
ADB Universal Drivers
Flasher
♦ You will have the option to install ADB & Fastboot + ADB Drivers (Windows 8 users read this) + Flasher, each alone or all together.
♦ ADB and Fastboot will be automatically added to PATH so you can call them with ease.
Flasher
♦ Flasher is a simple console GUI that helps you flash kernel images and custom recovery images (.img files) in addition to pushing zips via ADB sideload.
Note: You can follow this guide to unlock your bootloader and find download links for recoveries etc . . .
Statement
This toolkit was tested by me personally on Windows 7 Ultimate x64 and Windows 8.1 x64 Enterprise.
If you have any old drivers installed that may cause conflict please uninstall them before installing my drivers.

For Windows 8 users
Before installing ADB drivers on your Win8 machine you should disable driver enforcement in order to succeed with the installation.
To do so you just have to reboot your pc and keep pressing F8 on boot. A menu will appear, from this menu choose Disable Driver Enforcement and hit Enter.
Done!
Now you can install ADB drivers and connect your phone with no problems.
Good luck
