This is completely compatible with the official CyanogenMod 10.1 (and I'm planning to keep it that way), so you can switch to and from official without any problems.
The main focus of this ROM is to stay up to date with CyanogenMod 10.1 git branch and add features that allow finer grain customisation of hardware specific to the 4X.
What's added:
LG QuickMemo (hold Vol+ and Vol- to activate) [framework change]
Enable wake by pressing volume key setting [settings app change]
Control button backlight in System Settings (can stop it turning on whenever you touch the screen) [settings app + framework + hardware library change]
Button backlight used as notification light (can be enabled/disabled in System Settings) [settings app + hardware library change]
Button backlight used as battery light (recommend disabling in System Settings) [settings app + hardware library change]
Ability to dim backlight more than minimum (activate from ArararagiToolbox, otherwise like stock) [kernel change]
Ability to force fast charge even higher than default AC levels (activate from ArararagiToolbox, otherwise like stock) [kernel change]
20130502: Fix headset button (thanks to Wenque) Now in official CM
20130505: Disable baseband_xmm_power wake lock [kernel change]
20130512: Torch brightness control. You need to clear data for the Torch app. Default is the minimum possible brightness, rather than the stock CM 10.1 brightness. [Torch app + kernel change]
20130515: Fix known issues in torch brightness control caused by 20130512 changes. Clear Torch app data. [Torch app change] Disable touch debug printing in kernel. [kernel change]
20130602: Use new vibrator implementation in line with CM. Add baseband_xmm_power wake lock back in.
20130609: Uncap screen brightness
20130611: Disable baseband_xmm_power wake lock again. Now using Linaro 13.05 GCC 4.7 to build (user + kernel).
20130612: HALO ported from ParanoidAndroid
20130613.1: OpenPDroid
20130623: Enable ODEX
20130623: Use -O3 for compiling native components
20130623: Increase vibrator PWM duty cycle (should increase vibrator strength)
20130625: Tweak background process parameters
20130630: Add QuickMemo quick settings tile
20130707: Add LG Hidden Menu (only GNSS Test works at the moment)
20130713: Allow control of which backlight HVLEDs are enabled. Lets you make the screen even dimmer
20130716: Allow control of gamma LUT from user space. Let's you over saturate the screen colours
20130727: Add support for external GPS (http://review.cyanogenmod.org/#/q/owner:ich%40morphew.de+status:open,n,z)
Check github for full changelog. Each release also includes changes from official CM.
Optional (can be installed as normal app):
Memobin.apk: LG Notes
AraragiToolbox.apk: Actually activating some of the features mentioned above
CameraApp3.apk: 20130606. LG Jelly Bean stock camera app ported to Android 4.2/CM 10.1.
ArararagiToolbox features that work on any ROM:
Check battery current (drain/charge in mA)
Disable USB (for charging on untrusted computers)
Check KSM (kernel same page merging) stats
Note: Anything changed from AraragiToolbox won't stay across reboots, as it's more of a tool for testing. I'm planning to add them into the System Settings later on.
Install by flashing zip from ClockworkMod (Find "Optimus 4X" on the page). No need to wipe data if you are already using CM 10.1.

Planned:
Overclocking, Schedulers, I/O Schedulers, Governors

How to HALO:
See http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2117444&page=976 (Thanks to kubics for original posting and Namor Noditz for linking) on how to configure.
Just mentally replace "Settings > RootBox Settings > HALO Settings" with "Settings > System".

My immediate guess would be the same as with any modified CM - you lose the additions to the ROM.

I think it would change just the moddified files, I guess. I will try an report.
can create a zip file to add QuickMemo, Fast Charge, Backlight Dim, Notification Light, etc. to official CM 10.1?

It doesn't work. I have installed today's update then this modded ROM and then today's update again.
How often is you going to be updated this ROM?

Does that mean it did what I suggested and wiped out the additions? That's certainly what used to happen with older versions of CM and I would expect exactly the same to happen still.
It's the same as with the PDroid version - unless the OP sets up his own automated build system you can often find the build lagging behind the nightlies. That's why they often choose to base a modded version on the most recent 'stable' CM and then have to update it less frequently.
I think I found a bug. When I am charging my phone over USB or AC the button's lights are always on.

That's not a bug. You've got the screen set to "Always On" when charging, and the buttons set to "Always On" - therefore the buttons will always be on when charging?
Awesome!!!!This is what i need.Great job!
If qmemo can also turn on by long press menu/quick setting panel, that will be perfect.

The button lights function as battery lights by default. Disable it in settings -> system -> battery lights.
It's difficult to release just modified files (as you can see from my kernel and other QuickMemo thread, it becomes a mess) and now that framework modifications are involved, it can cause conflicts if they are flashed over a CyanogenMod version that it wasn't designed for.
It might be possible to get the button backlight feature upstreamed in CM, but I doubt they'd accept any of the rest.
I'll look into setting up automated build, and also getting the source modifications organised on github or similar.
20130428 is now available.
No changes from me, just updating upstream.

Yes, very early stage in development, indeed. As expected, far from usable, but definitely has a lot of potential. I like the fact that touch calibration works. It'd be a nice thing to have in SwiftDroid, for example, though I'm not really sure - are the kernel version and calibration really so connected to each other that it can't be done with the 2.6.29. Someone please enlighten me on the subject.

o get tablet mode on ICS Stunner, please follow this steps:
Settings > Euphoria Control > General UI > Switch Tablet/PhoneUI > Custom > 200 (Tablet) > Reboot.
After Reboot, go to Apex Launcher Settings and set grid size to 6x6 or 6x5 to enjoy full screen accommodation of icons.
If you still don't get Tablet Mode, that means your device isn't rooted properly and you need to clean install this ROM.
It is important to follow the steps mentioned there carefully.
[B]Tip #2:[/B] [U]Getting vibrant colors on screen.. the awesome AMOLED[/U]
Settings > Galaxy Note Settings > Screen Tab > Mode > DYNAMIC
This setting would give you stunning vibrant colors. Try it.

Would I able to revert back to GB ROM ?
Yes. We don't mess with bootloader.
What are the changes of the latest beta ?
Read changelog post.
Can you add <feature> ?
No.
Can I have S-Pen functionality ported ?
No. This is an AOSP ROM and not based on Samsung's Touchwiz ROM. However S-Pen works.
Does BLN works ?
No.
Sometimes my phone goes to death (won't turn on), any fix ?
Try switching modem.
Camera recording doesn't work ?
YES, it works.

Is video camera working and saving videos? Cuz thats like the biggest issue for me on all the other roms.
I read the first post, but wasn't sure on one point regarding the phone/tablet versions. Does this mean that the tablet ui version only has the tablet ui on it? Meaning I could not manually edit build.prop and change dpi to kick it into phone.

You can change DPI just by editing the /system/build.prop with Root Explorer
It works on every rom (aosp aokp miui...) so this should work here too
Great too see yet another nice build. Will see if I can get some time to spin it.

It should not be, because it is built upon the existing ics from imilika, which does not have working usb host/hdmi out (correct me if I got that wrong).
I don't think it works on any of the ics roms atm until we get a better leak or a true release.
Flashed this CM10 based ROM yesterday. Found that 2 key features that were baked into system in previous release are missing from this release.
First is Overclocking/underclocking of CPU through Settings->Performance. Now this options is missing altogether from the list.
Though this drawback can be mitigated by using Trickster Mod or similar app.
And second one is the option to "customize auto-brightness settings". There are some apps in the store that promise similar utility, but they never worked for me. This option wasn't needed if auto-brightness levels were not as super low as they are in this release.
Anyone noticed this?

1) I removed the CPU Settings because they're limited and don't work with this device as they should (Tegra needs a different kind of love).
2) I removed the auto brightness settings because they rely on the light sensor exposed to the rom... which we don't have. All the auto brightness is handled in the kernel (on ICS as on CM) so every operation in that menu is basically a no-op.
For 1, use CPU Adjuster or Trickster Mod from the market and you get a load more options that are guaranteed to work.
And for 2, check my kernel thread. You can mod the auto-brightness settings via sysfs, or wait a bit until wfd adds that feature to Kowalski Manager
Hope this clarifies why those two things are gone

Of course, I will do some other mods, but I don't want to make them all twice. Now I am waiting for official release. But if you find some bugs, I'll try to repair them.
downloading.. it will take long as I have a very slow connection so can anyone in the meantime tell me if the rom is pre-rooted or I have to download and flash supersu separately? can't find this info in OP sorry!
Everything should work fine, including root.
First post edited with SU info.
first of all, thank you for the new 4.3 version of Hybrid. I never expected it to be released so soon, thought you would wait until sony releases the official.
and i've got a small question.. it's not very often but sometimes i get a sudden reboot with 4.3 (i'm now on leaked version from dark-lord).
do you have them also?
i will see if i have them with you rom too and when they do i will observe if they come on a specific moment.
No reboots on my side, but it could be problem with the protection circuit on battery, which I have bypassed. But if it was fine for you on 4.1 Hybrid, it should be fine also on 4.3, mainly because of the same sysmon values, gpu max speed, etc.

What kernel do you suggest?
There are not many to choose from.

I know it's a initial version... the speaker phone doesn't work unless the speaker voice enchanting and microphone noise suppression are turned off...

it works for me.. do you mean the speaker when you listen to some music with walkman app for example?
ps. installed first 4.3 hybrid and everything is very nice so far, in conjunction with gravitybox and xperia flip settings is great!
plus I love i can use again lockLock widget in homescreen and as lockscreen widget! :good:
Also I like the heavy cleaning you did (I just did a little more )
thanks bye!
What I meant is when I talk with someone and decide to turn the speaker on ...they cant hear me unless I don't switch them off...

ah ok now is more clear.
I think I had the same problem yesterday, I will try again later today
EDIT: tried again, I have same problem (if I enable the speaker during a call, I can hear the voice from the other side through the speaker, but they can not hear mine, so I guess the problem is on the microphone, not on the speaker btw)
Hmm. Ok I will take a look at it. For now, if you want, you can switch back to original /etc/snd_soc_msm/snd_soc_msm_2x. Take it from the 4.3 leak.
i know thats stupid question but w/e, 2 cores always on improve performace?
Definitely yes.

Many Thanks. Awesome! Its working! But there was a really cool viking dude on the nexus 7. the Viking Dude!? How about that? :silly:
-back button sends me to google now. Dont know if thats a feature or what.
I'm probably a less technical user than many. But here's my $.02.
The navigation bar customizations are huge. Once you get used to having a "last app" button there's no going back.
I got non-stop Google Keyboard errors which I worked around by using voice to install Swiftkey. I don't use Google Keyboard anyway because there's no split layout.
The back button goes to Google Now because of the navigation ring. I disabled that too.
I haven't grasped the mystery of how themes behave. There are often subtle differences from one ROM or device to the next. In this case with SUBZ3ER0 I can see the text on my Gmail widget and in Google Voice where often it's black-on-black. I have no idea if that's because of some deliberate change, but if so that's great. (And if it's not, it's still great.)
I recently switched from an Xperia tablet Z and was missing a lot of the customizations. (On the bright side I've been wasting less time constantly flashing different ROMs.) This is very nice.

For me, adb over wireless crashes settings. Using rom toolbox pro instead. So far so good otherwise.

Sorry, poor word choice. I meant that the navigation bar customizations are "huge" in the sense that they are very significant, very helpful. There isn't anything abnormal about their size. It took a while for that to click before I realized my miscommunication.

Was it B66? Thought I flashed that already. It works now. Thanks.
Brickmaking
Dumb question - does the term "brickmaking" on the download site mean that it's just very experimental and risky or that brickmaking is the expected outcome?

I'll remove that tag today
It means it's experimental with a higher risk than usual. 4.4.3 builds look stable
Hey I'm looking to flash the latest nightly. Can someone confirm dock/keyboard is working?
Any known instabilities?

It's been great for several days. I was getting random crashes on various apps on 4.4.2, sometimes a bunch at once, but it hasn't happened in the past few days. I need to stop being lazy and read about how to save log files and what to do with them. There are other variables. I was using ART and using a lower resolution. Either way it would take a whole lot of crashes to negate the huge benefit of the last app nav bar button. It's the greatest thing since sliced bread. Better than that. I'd rather tear my bread apart and eat it in chunks than lose my last app button.

and..
Does this ROM support ART runtime? Also, still no support to exFat file system, right?
It could my imagination but after the last nightly this seemed exceptionally responsive and fast.
