I noticed that the microphone on the CM 10.1 by Hashcode is not working properly. It has a horribly sough so nobody in Skype understands me, it isn't only a problem with Skype because Apps like Google Voice Search also don't understood me. I can't post it in developer thread because i'm newbie and the androidhost bug ticker didn't open for me, so i'm not sure if somebody already report it.
It's great rom but unfortunately, I need a mic and front cam for work. is it possible to dualboot?

Read the original post thoroughly next time. It was listed in the not-working section. Microphone is input.

I was wondering if devs know if it is possible to implement call recording on our X8s. Is it hardware limited? I've been reading about this and it seems that almost no android phones can do this
Good question I'm exciting to the answer
Questions go to the Q&A section!

You can find many apps that can record your call conversation, just look at the market.

AllCallRecorder is one of them, and it worked like a charm when I use it . I don´t know if it still working on my current ROM, but as it is free, everybody should try it

It doesn't work. It only records my voice and not the other party's.
Try 2-Way Call Recorder,
It's free and it record both sides during the call. It working fine on gingerDX

I've just tried it. It doesn't seem to be able to record without using the speakerphone
Hey Dexter,
thought you knew that [Q] threads are for Q&A forum
Thread moved
I kind of thought it would fit better in the dev forum as this is not something that can be done through apps.
I have already let stay in development forums 2 other [DISCUSSION] threads from you because i thought that they have inside somewhat of development but i cannot leave there any kind of thread only because they speak about dev, Q&A is the right place.
My orders as a moderator are to move every thread to Q&A that doesn' implement anything but development, such ROMS, Modules; scripts.

ok, gotcha.
I get a strange way to record phone conversations with the application vRecoder. I think that the loud sound of my voice dynamics falls into the microphone. Companion heard bad at writing, but audible. Better anything than nothing.

Hi!
I've tried several programs and does not work, only my own voice recorded.
But! The original Sony Ericsson 2.1 ROM is fully able to pad sharp 2-Way recording, even with the headset as well.
The 2.2 ROM and the rest is not working
The solution I am also very interested because this function does not only want to stay at the 2.1 ROM.
Sorry for knowledge of English, but translation
Has anybody tried all the versions spread on the XDA Forum? I tried this ones:
Versions available: (Use the latest from below, or use DeToX-cz's installer app)
1. "Talk_with AV.zip". Same as stock with just the FC fixed so it works on other phones.
2. "Talk_with_AV_no_wifi.zip" or "talk1.3.nowifi.update-signed.zip". Added a fix to let it work over your data connection.
3. "talk1.3.nowifi.v2-signed.zip". Added an additional fix to let it work over data.
4. xilard version. #3 with Camera and microphone tweaks.
5. [email protected]'s gTalk installer. Installs the new gTalk files. Needs root. Not sure what mods he has incorporated in it.
6. xilard version +theos0o portrait fix, by $omator
7. version "1.33" by theos0o [thread][multiupload link]. I copied the 3 files in the update.zip manually using android commander and it works fine. (Nexus one, 2.3.5 CM nightly)

In some of them, the other person cannot see me. In other versions, cam works fine, but I cannot hear the person and viceversa. In the modaccos version, the front cam is 90° turned around. Well you know all the problems. Thats why my question:
Does anybody knows a gtalk [video/wifi/cam switcher] custom app that really works on the Incredible S?
BTW: Im using Virtuous 2.37 Rom.
Thanks for answers.
Am using the default 'talk' app in virtuous unity 2.37.
seems to be no problem here!
i did have trouble in MIUI rom, but nothing with VU.
has this been persistent?
otherwise i would suspect faulty network
And video call works on yours? Can u see and hear the other person? Can the other person hear and see you? Is your front cam flipped to 90 degrees? Can you switch between front and rear cam?
Sorry for so many questions . I'm just pissed that my gtalk doesn't work properly.
Thxs.

I did a full wipe and installed the new VU 2.39.
Talk works fine, only that the front cam is flipped on 90°.
Is there a patch or something? maybe this framework-res or something like that? i dont know what else to try.
Can someone help?
Thanks.

lol. i understand your frustration.
but everything works fine. i can hear and see the other person and they can hear and see me too.
the image is quite right, not flipped
am sorry you having these issues!
since you have wiped and re-flashed, you could probably try uninstalling the 'talk' app & then download and re-install from the market.
maybe that would work
Hi All,
I wanted to learn how to build an AOSP ROM for my Droid Incredible (original version), and I was finally able to get a working build today (i've been at it for more than a month on and off when I have time).
I downloaded gingerbread-release and used the CM overlay to get the vendor-specific stuff. The proprietary files were pulled from my working OMGB phone (which I understand borrows a lot from cyanogen; well-- the kernel at least).
My problem is that (1) I can't get any audio to play, (2) any time I try to play a video (like Youtube) I get a force close, and (3) the camera wont work.
I'm pretty sure (3) is a totally different problem, as I've seen lots of ROMs where the camera won't work.
Does anyone have any point that I could start on this? I've posted my logcat here: pastebin.com/GPqpD8N3
(sorry-- I'm not allowed to post links yet.)
I googled it but I'm having trouble finding anything pertinent.
Thanks in advance for any assistance you anyone can provide!!
EDIT: By the way, since this post I have changed my setup. All of my proprietary modules are from the CM nightly build now, instead of having modules from OMGB and and overlay from CM. I did this to make it more consistent in case I run in to any more problems.
Sorry -- additional detail that I meant to add in the post (but it won't let me re-edit for 5 minutes):
The bottom of the log shows me trying to play a song in the music player. From what I can tell, /system/bin/mediaserver is crashing and performing a stack dump; however I don't know why or how I can fix it.
It will not play any ringtones either, but the DTMF tones *do* sound when you press on the digits, and the phone/speakerphone work fine as well.
I just figured it out myself... in the logcat there is the line:
frameworks/base/media/libstagefright/omx/OMXMaster.cpp:90 err != OMX_ErrorNoMore
if you go to that file, in line 90:
CHECK_EQ(err, OMX_ErrorNoMore);
I just commented it out and sound works fine.
Now if I can get the camera working... any ideas?
Hmm I know the bugglas beast nightly's had the camera issue.

Thanks, @Kiboe for the reply. I found the fix last night (right after I posted ) on xda-developers through Google Groups.
I implemented @dferreira's suggestion, and it compiled just fine. Now I have a working camera, but video still isn't working. (Also accelerometer isn't working, but I believe I have already found the answer for that).
Pls submit the logcat for the call bugs and others bugs over here. I myself also want a stable build from RC. So pls help yourself. Help RC and DEV. So we will have a stable build fast, rather then posting around for it.
I have just installed an app that can save logcats. For once, I am looking forward to a call bug hehe
Helpful or not, the least we can do is to show that we can contribute by taking our time instead of just leaving complaining messages behind 24/7.
So thank you for creating this topic that will, in one way or another, become useful.
can someone please explain, or link, how to make logcats?

Tonyp once told us about an app called 'Lumberjack' that makes it very simple to save logcats with.
I have installed it on my phone and took the .apk file that came directly from Google Market. I have taken the time to attach the .apk to this reply.
Ladies and gentlemen, it can't get more simple than this!
Logcat for charging bugs. Had been charging for 1hrs only increase by 10% of the charge.
Here another logcat for charging, which charge pretty fast from 56% to 100% in an 1hrs 15mins.
Here I will put a log call for a good call to 1696 with everything is loud and clear and i will put other when is no sound I have put logcat, logcat_radio and logcat_events i hope it helps! :good::good: if is any thing i can do more to help please tell me!
which logcats are needed? radio? events? or only logcat?

Google Talk crashes (FC) when one initiaties Voice
logcat in attachement
ask for other types of logcat - this is the default you get when you dl alogcat, not sure what can help.
didn't upload sorry --- 17-12-12 CM10 nightly
GTalk FCs when you initiate Voice chat.
What sort of alogcat you want me to do besides this default?
my logcats after callbug. 1217 build.
This is my call bug with 1217 build. It apiers after 3 hours and only 1 call witch was good.
Hey guys,
Here's my logcat after the call bug. I could hear the other side perfectly, but the other side could only hear noise. Before I usually had no sound at all when I had the audio bug, so something has happened meanwhile...
Nightly 20121217
Hope it helps

I have no idea if a logcat is helpful here at all or things like a kernel log are more important - but as no one knows any details just include as much as you can.
The radio logcat shows the RIL communication and might give clues as well, so I think it should be included, too.
It would be nice if arcee could tell all of us here if there's anything particular useful for him.
I think there are a couple people willing to help, if they just don't know how.
(Just in case you're reading here Ricardo ).
Here are my logs extracted as zip, got the callbug. last good call was decent 1/2 hour ago.
Hi I know I'm no dev but i just find something that may help I just need that tony p or other dev help and see this logcat.
So that's my story we don´t have 1 audio call problem we have audio problem AND a call bug
1- We have a call bug when u listen and other pelople listnen static (and if u try it to capture some movie sound is great and if u try to record some audio is great to).
2- And then we have othe bug no sound in call but not just in call in everithing for example when this one happends u can try to caprute some movie and u will see that is no audio if u try to record some audio u see that is no audio
I HAVE 100% sure of why telling i try it with to diferent devices on from carrier portuguese TMN and other from carrier VODAFONE portuguese.
So I atached the all logcat's from the first situation i call may voice mail service try to record a new personal message and when im listning only static came out then I record some audio in recording audio apk and evething is lound and clear so my guess is that bug can possibly be a bb/ril related the other one maybe audio driver's i don´t just mic and piece stop working for everithing calls and app's camera.
Can u test to see that im saying the true??
sorry for my poor english
Edit:added situation 2 bug no sound mic not working in voice recorder and I can´t hear anything in calls.
Logcat for battery drain maybe due to wifi or 3G usage.

Yeah, I'm one of then. I even asked If he needed any testers on G+ but he didn't answer me.
The logcat thread is a great idea, but we could help more if we had some directions (I mean not noob stuff, but what logs are relevant, what can be done to make better logs, etc) . Maybe that info is available somewhere, but I can't find it. Since he thanked the OP, there is still hope he is reading, but I fear we may be doing this for nothing. Or wasting our time in stuff he doesn't need.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=37872743&postcount=278 - That thread is on the first page of the Development forum, and the most recent build is on page 28. Just for next time, try using search before posting a new thread to ask a question.
In any case, the only major issue is that whilst the microphone will work fine for voice calls, for just about anything else the audio will be choppy (including, say, VoIP apps). Wired headsets won't work properly either.

Bluetooth headsets don't really work as it should either. But I don't know if that problem is limited to this phone, a lot of people seem to have this problem and not just in CM. Might be fixed in 4.2.2.

But I would recommend the liquid smooth that just came out today. it seems less buggy to me.
