I am on T-Mobile UK. Firmware 1.28.61.7 which is exactly the same as the stock firmware as far as I can see apart from the browser defaults to the EE home page. I would really like to have the 1.29 firmware as it addresses the really annoying problem with the un-responsive capacitive buttons but I haven't got this yet as apparently T-Mobile must test this first. What is it that they are testing?? Perhaps I am going to get an extra special radio with much improved data connections? I doubt it.
C'mon T-Mobile please just release it or would it be easier if I returned my phone because of my software problem??

Hi guys...sorry if this is already answered here, but I just got a supposedly 'unlocked' AT&T Tilt from eBay and put in my Rogers SIM card. It seems to work OK on the data side of things - gleefully accessing the internet and even syncing my email, but I can't get the voice calls to work. Even shows '3G' for the data connection.
Whenever anyone calls me, they get a couple of rings and it goes to my voicemail. If I try to call out, it dials, then immediately ends the call when it tries to connect.
The SIM card is OK I know, since it works in my Eten X500 just fine.
Do I have to do something to the phone to completely remove the AT&T stuff?
Help...I love the phone, but if it won't make voice calls....

I had this same problem on ATT in the US. They kept trying to tell me it was a problem with my phone, although I knew this wasnt the case because I had 2 tilts in a row that did this. I called them and eventually got through to a higer level tech, tier 2 I think. I'm not completely sure what he did but he fixed it. It was a problem on their end.
I was able to use data as well, just no calls. It would drop them as soon as I made them.
Call Rogers, they will probably work it out.
You need to flash your tilt with a different version of radio and it will work.

Thanks... any particular suggestions? I'm thinking of flashing the unit with QMobile 1.2, but I don't think that comes with a radio ROM...I guess I should pick one up from the Upload area?

I may give that a try, but Rogers doesn't provide support for phones they don't sell. I think I will be SOL once they find out I'm connecting with a 'non-standard' phone.

rogers is really bad when it comes to supporting phones they don't have. You may want to call them and lie, and say you and a TYTN instead of a Tilt, and see if they will try to help.
That being said, I know about 3 guys that have gotten either a TYTN II or a Tilt in the Vancouver area and have popped in their SIM card and everything has worked just fine, including myself. Have you tried flashing a different radio - I am using 1.27.12.17 - perhaps the At&T radios don't work in Canada?...just a thought

OK, the radio I currently have is 1.27.12.11. Do I have to HardSPL before I install the new radio? Also, I notice you've SuperCID unlocked as well... do I need to do that also?

Well, I got it to work, but...
The ongoing saga continues....
a) HardSPL'd and Flashed in a new radio 1.27.12.17. No change.
b) Played with the network settings a bit, and could occassionally get the phone to 'downgrade' to an Edge cx, and voila! the phone started working. But AT&T's software doesn't give me the option to 'hold' it there.
c) Talked to Rogers tech support -- pretty helpful really. They asked for the # of my SIM card and said it wasn't a '3G' card (it IS pretty old) and suggested I get a new one from the local guys. Went up, got one for free (since I gave them my old one) and tried it -- No luck, same problem.
d) Flashed QMobile 1.2 ROM -- still getting the at&t screen on initial startup, but everything else seems good and the HTC-ish stuff it's supposed to be.
e) Went to configure the phone band settings. If I leave them on 'Auto', it finds the Rogers 3G network and hooks up, but the same problem arises -- when it finishes dialing and tries to connect, it just ends the calls. And incoming calls go directly to my voicemail. HOWEVER, if I specifically configure it for GSM network and the 1900+850 bands, then it locks onto Edge and the phone works fine.
I guess it's back to tech support with Rogers to see what they have to say about my account, etc.
Very Weird.

Im personally still using the original at&t tilt radio ver 1.27.12.11 on Rogers and haven't had problems with voice on 3G. I haven't ever used a data connection with Rogers however..

Yup...from that thread, the description sounds EXACTLY like the difficulties I'm experiencing. It appears to be a hardware failure... Unfortunately, I bought from a guy on eBay, so I'm not sure I can send it in for repair. It works on Edge though, and that will be good enough for now.

Right, ok, being that T-Mobile take HTC phones and then rebrand them up, who the heck am I supposed to go to for support when the hardware goes wrong?
Basically, the GPS on my diamond has gone tits up. I have reverted my diamond back to the stock TMob ROM to test (which comes with a donkey old radio) and still no joy. I have downloaded the HTC GPS Test Tool to see that it does connect to the GPS using, but just doesnt receive anything signal from sats.
I have just phoned up TMob CS and they were pants. They gave me a website which is for CoPilot (which I dont even use). Obviously, they havent got a clue on how to sort the issue out, and I am pretty sure its a hardware issue (unless someone on here knows how it fix it).
Has anyone with a TMob branded device managed to get HTC to fix any issues they have had with it?
What the heck am I supposed to do?

I recieved my HTC One two weeks ago after waiting 2 months. It was a pain in the ass to get the phone.
Here in Belgium the phone is still not for sale so I had to buy the phone on a site from the Netherlands (algebeld.nl).
Now, here is the problem:
I wasn't aware that I was able to recieve 4G LTE in my region until a few days ago, I didn't know this because I never recieved 4G on my phone. Aparently I should recieve 4G and looked into the settings and everything is set to recieve 4G, so my settings are not the problem.
Another thing I noticed was that I am still on older software and didn't recieve the latest update, I'm still on 1.29.111.11.
This concerned me so I did some research and it turns out (not 100% sure though) that my device is branded to T-mobile, even though it is an unlocked device.
So the reason I can't connect to 4G is (I think) the radio module is clocked at a different frequency so I can't recieve 4G.
I was under the impression that I was buying an unbranded device so this kinda blows...
No 4G isn't the only problem, I will also have to wait for OTA's a lot longer.
So my question is:
Is there a way to solve this? I could root my phone in order to get the latest software but still if there comes an update which updates the hboot, it will check my cid and there will be a chance I won't be able to update my hboot and install the update.
If I could just solve the cid problem it would be awesome because 4G isn't THAT big of a deal, but it would be even better if there was a way to recieve 4G or totally debrand my device. I don't know if there is a way to solve this through software since it's the radio module that has a different frequency and that's a hardware problem :s

I have an unlocked british d5803 that I am using on ATT in the states. Every once in awhile it just stops receiving SMS. The SMS will eventually come in all at once at some point in the future, or if I restart my phone they will all come in. I haven't been able to replicate the issue. It seems to just happen at random. Today was the third time I have noticed it happen.
Has anyone else noticed this issue? At least I'm not losing any texts, they come through eventually, but it is still a real pain.

I'm having the same problem as well. I believe that when 4G LTE service gets dropped, the phone doesn't allow texts/calls to come in through the lower bands. The texts eventually come in a few hours later all together. I'm going to try to do a sony software repair or return the phone.
I wish I could love this phone, but i just can't with this issue.
I would suggest downloading the advanced signal status app and comparing it with other phones.

That doesn't sound good. Where did you learn about this? I always tend to blame the network for any missing text problems rather than the phone. Last week, for example none of my texts were getting sent. So I tried my GF's iPhone on the same network and same thing was happening, so I assumed T-Mo was having a hiccup. It worked 5 minutes later.
I would use the FlashTool and install the US version software and give that a try. There might be some changes in the radio part of the US software to better connect to the towers.
I am just speculating. My work phone is also on AT&T so I have been using it to troubleshoot. I don't believe the issue to be a network problem.
I'm going to try flashing the US firmware as mentioned below. As soon as I comfortably figure out how. .

I've only had an issue with receiving SMS, never sending them. I think. I'll pay more attention, it hasn't happened again since I posted this. Maybe I just need to do a fresh power cycle on the phone every couple of days. Sucks, but wouldn't be the end of the world. It's a shame, this phone is perfect in every other way.

AT&T nor Tmobile dko NOT seem to have this problem with Networks-it would be widely reported if they did.
I never had it on MetroPCS or MetroPCS Tmobile after Merger on Carrier LG Motion 4 G.
My theory is the Data Transfer is not automatically
reassigned or transferred to the lower speed 3G Bands for some reason, I am not a tech or,Dev so guessing that
Sony does not have Software Optimization tweaks that
we take for granted since they are not on many Carriers .
Guessing that the TMobile Z3 and Verizon Z3v will or have been optimized or will be for no data pause, text pause etc.
I can NOT have this because meetings are sometimes adjusted via text, phone used for Business.
Alpha probably even unlocked will have fewer issues , but never used an unlocked phone-
For RELIABLE texts, data, do you NEED a Carrier Branded, Optimized Phone.?
Hi, I'm using the Z3c in the US and the firmware seems to be significantly lagging behind other markets. I'd really like to get the stagefright fixes in. I know it's possible to flash other region firmware but I'm already having trouble sometimes with the phone not setting up the data connection when switching towers, so I thought I'd ask here if anyone has a recommendation.
XperiaFirm lists a "GLOBAL" firmware, has anyone tried that?
And also, no idea if that's related to my current .1.200 firmware, my phone randomly reboots while just being idle. Yesterday it happened twice! I'd probably never notice except that signal will ask for the password again. Otherwise it's working great though, so I think this isn't a hardware issue but hopefully related to the firmware.
