Hi. Can I install firmware from "basic" GT-i8190 on my GT-i8190N (NFC verion) model?
I need clean and stock firmware for my region (I'm fussy about this), but there is no clean XEO fw for NFC version. I don't need NFC anyway, so Im okay with no NFC option, but wouldnt this be problematic for me with other potential imcompatiilities?

I have this UK firmware now, but it has EVR region, so it has some annoying region things for me, like no "only gsm" option in network settings, or sunday as first day of week in clock/alarm. And can't change CSC by myself (app or code doesn't work)
You can apply i8190 software on i8190n, only NFC won't work, nothing more
Cheers!

I have a galaxy note with italian baseband. My question is can I flash it with another region's firmware (asian firmware)?
Yes you can!
Yes.You can always flash any region firmwares on your phone. But the firmware should belong to your phone model.i.e N-7000 firmwares on N-7000,and I-917 firmwares on I-917.Which means firmwares are devices specific and not region specific
If you cant understand any of the above, the exact answer for your question is yes you can
would this affect my warranty? & flash count? and another question could i directly flash with an older firmware, im currently on 2.3.6 i was wondering if i could flash 2.3.5?

1.It wont affect warrant as long as you are in stock firmware. But if you have a network locked device I'm not sure because I have no network locked device in my region. If you have international unlocked note, you are 100% covered by warranty as long as its stock
2.Stock roms dont increase counter.Only custom roms do
3.You can flash any GB rom when you are in GB(to make it simple IMO)
Does this also apply to other devices?
That it is possible to use different firmwares.
(in this particular case LG optimus black p970)

Yes you can. You can us Odin for PC to do it. Do some searching on the n7000 forums and you will find all the necessary files and flashing tools.
I recommend checking out this excellent thread by Dr. Ketan http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997
It explains everything in detail so you should be good to go if you read through it properly.
Hope this helped and good luck!

Hi, the DBT version (for Germany) is 100% unbranded and works fine. Other is NEE (Finland). Those two are tested myself and no branding or bloatware present. No issues with OTA or Kies (well, if you're in Europe).

Yes, I have used this ROM on all my S3's and no issues at all. (Voda,Virgin,Orange).
Use Odin and do hard reset before and after flashing!
If you want a ROM which is pretty much close to stock, you could have a look at "The Galaxy Project": http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2125984
It's based on the official Samsung ROMs (not AOSP/CM etc), it looks like the stock ROM, and the only difference is some minor tweaking, completely unbranded, and bloat removal. It's completely international (Europe, Oceania etc) and uses the most current Firmware (4.1.2 XXBMR8).
By the way, here's another location for untouched Firmwares:
http://samsung-updates.com/device/?id=GT-I9305
No login needed which is helpful.
I just bought my second I9305 (first one was stolen) and it doesn’t connect to any network band. It is the same International model I had before that worked perfectly. I’m not sure if it has some country code limitation, but the frequencies and bands should be the right ones.
The phone is stock version. Baseband version XXUEMK1.
I’m not sure if I should flash to another Baseband. My cellular service provider works LTE at 1800 frequency and Band 3.
Any clues about what I should do?
Thanks

Hi,
Which is your stock firmware version JB 4.1.2 ? JB 4.3, or ?
Rooted or not ?
If you want to be sure your phone is OK, just reflash via ODIN your stock firmware from your country (and if you want from your carrier), it includes PDA, CSC and MODEM . Be sure your phone is an internationnal model i9305 and download your firmware HERE or HERE. I recommand this GUIDE from MaHo_66 xda member.

So try do a clean install by wiping all and flash latest build I9305XXUEML9 from italy (TIM) with Odin. It's Android 4.3 like you currently have.
You can grab it here for exemple : http://samsung-updates.com/details/24460/Galaxy_S_3_LTE/GT-I9305/TIM/I9305XXUEML9.html

Hi,hbergold, why not flash the version firmware 4.4.4 Stock. Here you have two versions of 4.4.4:http://samsung-updates.com/device/?id=GT-I9305 So you would be clear if the problem is the modem.I use the version DBT Poland, I live in Spain and everything works great.Version 4.4.4 also includes again the possibility of entering service mode and choose the bands. You can flash it with Odin.Pasate por aqui:http://www.htcmania.com/showthread.php?t=920004

I can`t confirm, but with the the Service Mode you can force the band you will.Have you read the post I linked?Your partner, also from Venezuala wanted to force the band 5 -3G, and according to reported- it works. Then, using Service Mode you can force the band you will.
You need to first install the 4.4.4 Rom and then if it doesn`t work normally use Service mode.

@hbergold, about KNOX, you told me you have an Android 4.3 build, so if it's an official one, you already have a KNOX bootloader (the one from sammy Android 4.3).
About bootloaders:
- if you ever flash 4.3 or 4.4 via Odin or updated from OTA you have new Bootloader from android 4.3 or from 4.4.4.
- if you bought your device and you dont know what bootloader you have, turn off your phone, reboot to download mode (hold power + volume down +home buttons) and when is there Knox flag 0x1 you have new bootloader and you are warranty off. When Knox flag is there 0x0 you have also new bootloader, but you are still in warranty and when you'll flash any custom recovery or unofficial firmware via Odin, you'll have then Knox 0x1 and you will be warranty off - so it's on your deciding. When isn't in download mode any records about about Knox, you still have old bootloader (from android 4.1.2).
- since the new sammy Android 4.4.4 bootloader, now there is also a line in blue color saying ´´SECURE DOWNLOAD : ENABLED''
About @MaHo_66 's opinion, please read here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=56506775&postcount=12. I hope he will not find any problem of sharing his post
I also recommand to upgrade to an Android 4.4.4 build but it's your choice and it depends on what you want to do with your phone (install custom ROM or not = warranty stuffs / if you want to sell the phone later, ....). Also I think you will not be able to flash any older official build (Android 4.1.2 or 4.3) if you upgrade to 4.4.4 because of the bootloader. I recommand it mainly because there is no more this random ******* stuck mdm_hsic_pm0 wakelock issue appeared since sammy Android 4.3 and which was a big problem for battery life. And also because it's smoother and faster.
I hope for you that @viktorak service mode trick will work for you if you decide to upgrade to android 4.4.4 official.

Yes regular i9305 firmware can be flashed although being Telstra it won't have very good reception as the frequencies are different with Telstra. Flashing a Telstra modem after will help.. Also factory reset is usually a must if flashing stock software
