Hello all, i seem to have found a pretty sweet little bag that fits the Galaxy Tab and several accessories quite nicely and also is rather small.
Its made by SwissGear and called the SwissGear Travel Shoulder Bag.
( at target for onlu $11.99 !!, http://www.target.com/Swiss-Gear-Over-Shoulder-Travel/dp/B002JD0S1M )
Its marketed as a camera bag but works great w/the Tab. I have a review and pics up on my blog at:
http://blogs.tech-recipes.com/seamo...g-swissgear-travel-shoulder-bag-quick-review/
Looks good but lacks a padded pocket. I can see myself using this when the weather gets nicer on day excursions outside, etc.
Nice find, thanks for posting it. I was looking for something similar.

Based on your review I thought I'd pass by my local Target and check it out. It is a very nice bag and see what you're talking about. My Target had it on clearance for $19.99. I was about to fight to get the internet price when I came across the Swiss Army carry on bag (named differently on their website.) It's just slightly larger but just enough.
Check it out - http://goo.gl/AyZbD
Either one would work for most people. Since I carry multiple chargers and IT stuff, this worked a little better.
That keyboard looks like the BEEWI BBK200 ?
What is it like ?
I've been looking at messenger bags for a while now. I got a larger chrome bag awhile back for travel, and I am very pleased with it. I have been thinking I might get another for more casual use, smaller and simpler. I am definitely going to stop by target and take a look at this swiss tech bag simply because of price.
Here are my other, more pricey candidates:

i believe that is the one, i got it from meritline i believe. its ok, i've realized that thumb keyboards are only as good as the button layouts; its not really optimized for two finger thumb typing but does the trick when i need a keyboard for the tab or phone or ps3.
thats a nice find too! i'm a fan of the swissgear stuff, i have their luggage set too; so far its made it across coast to coast twice this year.
Question about your awsome messenger bag. Do you think it would hold the samsung galaxy keyboard dock?

hmm, i don't think it will. the keyboard may be too big fit. is it the same size as the Tab (bt keyboard dock)?

Are all those relatively strong rare earth magnets a good idea? Won't that mess with things like navigation and storage?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
No the magnets won't affect it that way. It's an innovative idea for sure but the way the N7 is held in place is plain ugly! Also there doesn't seem to be any way to fix or hold the top cover in place when it's closed.
I think it's a great idea but not ready for market quite yet, at least I wouldn't buy it as is.
Very clever but ugly. Not sure why you would want to stick your tablet to the fridge?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using XDA Premium HD app
i really want one and would get it if it was like 20 bucks but looks like it will be at least 70 which is a no go for me especially since it doesn't look like it protects the corners.
Nope. The front cover, a rather important part, looks like it's got several slits in it to facilitate all of that silly folding.
Ehh I wouldn't be too sure about the internal Compass. The Transformer TF101 had issues with this and magnets.
Pretty slick idea. Looks like a great case but not for me. I hope he sells a lot of them and does well.
Looks interesting but I'll be waiting for some real users review to see if it really works well
Pretty dope!
Clever, but ugly and probably overpriced. For $20, I'd take a second look.
Doesn't look like it adds any protection, but seems like a really nice idea.
Frankly, I would love to be able to stick it to the fridge for recipes when I am cooking.
I went ahead and per ordered it from http://flipsteady.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=4&products_id=5 for 55 bucks. Its not the prettiest case out there but I prefer function over style most days out of the week and I do love all the options with the stand.
I will probably try to put a thin tpu case on the nexus and then the flip steady on top of it for a little more protection. Will review when I receive it.

Ever tried cooking?
I use my tablet when cooking brunch on Sundays, fixing a batch of cheese dip up, etc. Good for all kinds of uses.
Awesome case, too bad its $55 prob get in around $35 or lower ($29.99 would be sweet spot)
I'm looking for a way to attach the Nexus 7 to my fridge or to my kitchen wall, to be used with cooking apps, kitchen timers, etc, without taking up precious counter space.
I found a product called Hedgie:

But $17 for a piece of Velcro seems exaggerated. Anyone know of a better solution?
Get the cheapest TPU case you can buy and attach adessive velcro on the back and on the fridge. Easy as pie.
Or... you can buy a sheet of magnet plastic and glue it to the case and then you don't have to glue anything to your fridge.
I agree with the above post. I always buy a few tpu cases to use for special projects around the house. One word of advice though... Before you adhere a magnet to the Nexus 7 make sure you know where the auto off-on feature is located. If you accidentally glue a magnet under it it will effect you nexus 7 turning on and off.

That should work well on the undersides of cupboards and large enough tiles too, depending their surface. I'd say a car mount would the best idea.

If you have an old 20GB hard drive lying around, the magnets in the old 3.5" drives are really strong.
You might want to try what I did with my phone, to attach it to the bottom of my monitor when I'm at my desk.
Take the magnet and the piece of metal that it's attached to and bluetack this to your fridge. Then cut the bottom flat piece out of a tin can and bluetack this to the inside of the Nexus's back cover (I am guessing that there is a suitable flat area).
If you want it attached for the long term than use something else more permanent than bluetack on the fridge.
OP - I am also looking to wall-mount my Nexus 7.
So far, the best options I have seen are:
1) TPU Case with PadTab (Link to PadTab HERE)
2) Wall-Mounted Tablet Dock (link HERE).
Did you already decide how to mount your N7?
Kind of a dead thread, but if anyone else is looking for a wall mounting idea, I'm looking at a couple of these: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004Z88WSK/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A29AY3J0MGBUKJ

I got 2 sets of these when they first came out on some special intro deal and paid $20 delivered. For what they are, they work well enough. Just realize that is simply a pair of cheap plastic holders you glue to whatever surface you want. You only get 1 orientation and size depending on placement. Installing them level and at the correct width is up to the installer
The pad tab from the previous post to your stuck on a TPU case would give more options albeit at about twice the cost, 15 vs 20 + 8 (or more) for TPU case.

lmao. I use HDD magnets too. Guys are crazy strong and thin = perfect. I used 2 for a LCD drawing note clip board thing and it almost pulls the fridge over (not quite but you know what I mean).
For the Nexus, I would use 1. Glue it to a TPU case and done.
This probably the one you are looking for, it's a specific kitchen mount for Nexus 7, i got it on Independence Day, it's doing 20% discount promo again now, good time to get one.

Gameklip is now offering 2 models only. One for the SG3 and a universal one that attaches to a case for your phone with a 3M adhesive strip. They have cases for the Note 2 for $2.95, it's a generic TPU type. The wireless model plus case plus shipping to my house came to $21. The case attaches permanently to the klip so you will have to switch out any case you now have each time to use it. I have the Samsung protective case that slips off an on easily so I decided to go ahead and get the universal "case mount" since I would have had to take it off anyway with the old style system because it fit the phone too tightly to use with a case anyway. I will report back on the fit and quality once I receive the package.

You would have to take off any case anyway because the versions made for specific phones fit too tightly to allow you to place the phone plus case into the klip. You can't expect an option for every phone/case combination. If it fits tight enough to hold the naked phone securely it won't accommodate the phone plus case.

3M adhesive strips are way more reliable than sticky tape. Automomile manufactures use it to attach heavy items to vehicles that are subjected to much greater stress than you will ever
subject your phone to (unless you plan on throwing it when the game gets frustrating). Just clean the attachment point with alcohol before applying and you won't need to worry about it coming off under normal use.

I actually think it will look better than the plastic arms wrapping around the naked phone. This way the case and phone will be appear to be an integral part of the device rather than an apparent add on. Also, when I was thinking of ordering one like the original I worried that those arms, being made of rigid plastic and fitting tightly enough to keep the phone from dropping out, would eventually cause visible wear on the phone's body with repeated insertions. That should be no problem with a soft flexible case. Additionally, on the theory that the phone will eventually be replaced, it will be possible to remove the case and fit one for the Note 3, 4 or 5 to the device with a new adhesive strip. All in all it appears to be a pretty clever one size fits all solution for the multitude of devices in the market. I got notification that mine has shipped so I will soon have a better idea of how well it actually fits and will report back.
You make a lot of valid points let us know how you like it.

If you bought one for your original note that WILL WORK! I shoved my note 2 in it to see and it was way to strainful, so I decided to take a lighter to heat one side up to let it adjust to the longer phone, not it fits in perfect nice and tight and no issues at all!
Notice how the right side is angled a little, I can still shake it around and everything and its very sturdy still

I'm having some difficulty identifying a stand that matches my requirements. Been Searching a lot but haven't found anything perfect yet. Most are too big and not pocketable.
What I am looking for:
-Very small and light, but sturdy. Preferably pocketable easily.
-Resistant and fairly stable to hold the phone on the food tray on airplanes.
-With some angle adjustment if possible, but around 45 degrees should be good enough.
-Capable of holding phablets and phones (Note II, Galaxy S2), no need to support Tablets.
-If it can hold a Note 2 in a case or with an extended battery, that is a plus, but not essential.
-Able to pass airport security checks (if in your pocket).
-Can be bought in EU (or from somewhere else with fast delivery)
I checked several but most of them look either too large (made for iPads) or too flimsy. Some are not adjustable at all and others have a layout that cannot be pocketed.
This one transforms into some sort of USB Pen and looks interesting, but I'm unsure if it can hold a Note 2 (in the right angle).
Anyone has this one?
Or can suggest any other models?
Thanks
The official stand/battery charger works. It holds well in turbulence.

step 1 - find an old audio cassette case.
step 2 - open the case all the way back and place on a flat surface.
step 3 - put your device on/in it depending on orientation.
it works surprisingly well.
For the best value mutli-purpose holder, see post #9 of this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2118979
In case the suction cup does work on the airplane tray, you can lower the phone down to sit on the tray directly.
For a simple device, this one http://www.tinydeal.com/one-hand-adhesive-washable-ring-holder-stand-for-mobile-phone-p-58445.html works well too. But the ability to adjust the angle is very limited. This is also a poor man's Flygrip. This device stick to the phone by a sticky pad, you can attach/detach it to and from the phone repeatedly without leaving any mark on the phone. One little trick. Wash the sticky pad with warm water, shake off the water and attached it to the phone. It adhere to the phone surprisingly well.

Ahaha, I see what you mean. But it works best for portrait. I want to use it in landscape for movies... there's less grip that way and it will probably fall off in a plane.
I just use a dollar bill (or any kind of bill actually) and origami a stand: http://pockethacks.com/how-to-build-your-own-phone-stand-from-a-dollar-bill/
It works well, very sturdy, and once you're done, you just pocket it away.
Or better yet, get a case that has a built-in kickstand

I am still using both credit card size stands to this day (think about four years). Absolutely love it...so thin...and adjustable. Serves me REALLY well on business trips (used it w/ N1, HTC Sensation, Note 1 & 2).
Think you mentioned you were currently in Europe? Not sure how long it would take to get to where you are, but it wouldn't hurt to contact them?
I actually found out that good old Lego is very suitable for building a stand.
I usually find a useless hotel card or a any expired credit card to use as a temporary kickstand.

This is after installing flash player plugin ics and reloading the stock browser, after trying dolphin beta, after setting user agent to iphone as told in dolphin betas help.
Added----
Ok if I set user agent to desktop and manually search for the article from the home page, then at least the broken link pics appear but the flash stays blank.
For some reason the link above continues to redirect to m.cnet which is broken, even after clearing cache. Combination of cnet, adobe, android, dolphin (for having flash support but turning it off with no user override) and the internet as a whole, sux.

The one thing I used to use as a kickstand is a good ol business card holder. I just happened to find an unused one at my former workplace and it works perfectly. Granted its not adjustable (maybe adding a few business cards for thickness to prop it forward more could do the trick) but its perfect for my phone. Its a black metal mesh kind but heres thr link for it.

there is newer version out now. it's simular, but has a few changes. How you use it and what it does remains the same.
ZDNet just did an article on a couple weeks ago: linky. I found it all over the net. Amazon has it too. Finding it at $5 like I did, well someone else did and shared the link, will probably be more difficult.
I don't know how well it works with an extended battery case, but I have the icarpus stand, it works quite well:

By the way, the stand you posted in your original post is horrible.
I own it, and It completely can't handle the galaxy note's size.

I made this from an old vhs box. Two old credit cards or dvd case would work as well. It works in landscape and portrait.

It's a copy of the gogo mount I think. Ordered it on amazon for $3 shipped. It came with two, one extra as a gift! Gogo is in the uk so I didn't want to wait for shipping time. It's adkustable with 3 setting and hold my note 2 with commutet.
