Help please - HTC one is not booting - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
After I did unlock the bootloader and flash a recovery and then rooted + custom rom which works like a charm.
my device is WWE 32GB simfree ,got it from clove, com,uk .
my problem is after i wanted to try another custom rom, and start flash it through CWM it gave me ERROR then it wont boot again just restart into fastboot and recovery mode but never boot the system.
I tried fixing this problem by reflash RUU shipped stock rom and some other custom roms but it could not and the error ( unable to mount USB-otg )
I read about some people here faced this problem and tried their solutions ( stock recovery + relock bootloader + unlock it again + changed kernel + and many which I can not rember ) but no luck till now !!
so please, I need help here A.S.A.P.
Thanks
SOLVED

Flash recovery via fastboot on a unlocked bootloader
Erase cache
Enter recovery and wipe all again.
Now you can flash rom with adb sideload

Ok, Thanks for your kind reply but please check the attached photo !! can I flash any rom even i am getting these kind of errors ?
- can't mount .......
- Failed to open driver control .....
the photo will explain more !

i have never seen this message before.
Can you flash a zip from sdcard?
Gesendet von meinem HTC One

Forget side load try adb push the rom when you are in recovery
Also sometimes side load will take a while to load just wait a couple of minutes

Re-root and reflash recovery again
Worst case scenario is to do a factory reset in the bootloader menu

I did re-root and reflash recovery many times also I did factory reset in the bootloader many times but also no luck to start the system :crying:

I had this. But I wasn't actually rooted at that time, I thought I was and this was the result. I made sure I had the latest recovery, then re-rooted using superuser.zip.
Everything should be on xda for you.

I had that can't mount message, I wiped in recovery cache and then wiped under advanced also dalvik cache, then chose reboot recovery and the can't mount message disappeared.
Hope you get it sorted

Are you sure you are using the proper RUU for your One?
WWE RUUs can be tricky,so verify the exact country code again

Did you try erasing the cache with the all in one toolkit
Edit:
- Download and start the All-In-One Toolkit http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2183942
- Plug in the USB cable
- On your device enter the bootloader
- Enter Fastboot
- In the toolkit choose "Erase Cache" below "Commands"

Thank you all for your superb and kind support ... you guys are ROCK :good:

[Q] Soft bricked my htc one

So yesterday, I tried installing a custom rom and what happened was that the MD5 sum was incorrect and i wasn't able to boot into system and had no backups so was stuck thinking that it was the end of the world.
What happened next was utter follishness in which I used this command in bootloader -fastboot flash zip rom.zip- what happened then was that the rom was transferred but it tried to install it and failed and a consequence now I cant even reboot into recovery now. It,s like when I start recovery it skips that and progresses to the htc logo.
I relocked the device and unlocked it via the Unlock token I had and again tried to install the recovery and it did but didn't reload into it and skipped to the htc logo screen.
Can anyone please help me with recovering my phone since I just bought it today.
One possible thing that comes to my mind is using the flash command in the fastboot, will it help or any other ways? THANK YOU in advance...
You can adb sideload still. Use adb to reboot into recovery via USB and sideload a known good ROM with a correct MD5 sig. No need to remind you that checking the MD5 is of utmost importance

I'm gonna try this and will report back! Thanks
I was able to enter the recovery but I try to install the rom.zip it says that cannot mount data and internal storage
What should be done about this?

yup with both internal storage and data, its not able to mount either of them
So:
- Flash the stock recovery
- Boot into bootloader
- Do a factory reset
- Reflash a custom recovery
- Teoritecally, this will work
Man, it's finally working. Feeling like hitting the thanks button a thousand times. Thank you so much!

[Q] 3 ROMs & It's all rejected <solved>

I've asked before that I can't flash a ROM cyn 10.2 to my htc one with CWM recovery v6.0.3.1...
And they said I have to try another ROM and flash it from flash drive...
I did it for 2 other ROMs, but it still can't...
I use the ROM from this website wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/M7ul_Info (i still can't post hyperlink)
I've used the 2 kind of stable and 1 of the RC one, but they all said :
" Finding update package . . .
Opening update package . . .
Installing update . . .
set_perm : some changes failed
E : error in /external_sd/cm-10.2.0-RC1-m7ul.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted. "
Does anyone have an idea about this problem??

if you're going to flash a 4.4 ROM, you need latest unofficial TWRP 2.6.3.3+ from here: http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/m7
(don't use a download manager on that site, otherwise it will fail, and make sure to verify MD5)

If you hold down volume down and power together and keep them held down, the screen will eventually turn off. Let go of the buttons and then hold them again a second or two later till it turns on and you will be in bootloader mode.
It's done.
Thank you for all the guidance!
Now i can enjoy the new ROM.

You have lost your recovery for some reason. Just reflash the latest TWRP from here
Shut off your device. http://techerrata.com/file/twrp2/m7wls/openrecovery-twrp-2.6.1.0-m7wls.img
Copy the file to your ADB folder on you PC. Plug the USB in.
Press and hold volume down and then press power. Keep holding volume down until a menu shows on your screen.
Use the volume rocker to select fastboot and press power to select fastboot.
Plug the device into your computer.
If you have the right drivers installed your phone screen will now say: FASTBOOT USB
Using a command prompt, type:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
Your device will reboot. Use the volume rocker to select recovery and press power. You will now boot TWRP.

How can I know that if you don't? Maybe you didn't backup at all or you just deleted it? You can sideload a ROM if you don't have one on your sd card.
And next time search and read before sending pm's, like everyone else has done. And at least use that thanks button, it's the minimum sign of appreciation towards smb who is helping you

Should I again flash the badboyz rom?
I remember while I recovered twrp recovery I did some kind of format/wipe. I guess because of that I lost my simunlock and possibly deleted something which is making it to do so.

NO, follow BigDaddys advice and RUU back to stock. Then work your way back to other ROM choices, most likely after flashing a new and appropriate recovery.

Yes first try reflashing the ROM after full wipe. You shouldn't loose your SIM unlock no matter what you do so smth is messed maybe with your partitions
If it doesn't work you should run the ruu. It'll brink you to stock and would have to unlock bootloader, root, custom recovery, etc.

I guess I've loosed it as I bought the phone from ebay and it came unlocked for sure but when I restored the backup I saw no signal bars on my phone,
Anyways, I'm again downloading a fresh copy of the rom and will re-install it. I dont want to do RUU and and they again everything from scratch as that would be toooo time consuming.
Hope reflashing works. I'll keep this thread updated.
Tho, While restoring I found a error that .android_secure.img is not found.
I guess that is something I messed?
UPDATE:
I did a full wipe and re-installed the Bad Boyz Rom.
Now, I'm getting to the unlock screen.
When I scroll the lock screen the phone is taking me to HTC screen and then rebooting and I'm unable to do anything...

Try another ROM, maybe it's a bad download. Also try clearing sd card first(do a backup on your pc first) and don't forget to full wipe. I'd use the ruu as last resort

With your phone in the bootloader, and plugged into the computer do
fastboot flash recovery recovery_name.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot-bootloader
THEN go in to recovery and do wipe - format data
Then to get the Rom on your phone, make sure the Rom is in the same folder as adb and fastboot then do
adb push Rom_name.zip /sdcard/
And wait, takes about 5 mins to push over, unplug your phone before you flash it.

Do you have any working rom installed on your phone? If not then there is nothing to root hence the root permission problem. Did you erased the cache and rebooted the bootloader after flashing a recover (before attempting to boot it)? Where are you downloading your twrp version from? Have you tried mdmower's twrp?

If there is no functional rom on your phone now then there is nothing to root so you can stop bothering with that for now. Flash your recovery using fastboot and try mdmower's twrp, I've seen many cases where mdmower's version flashed fine but not the official version.
Sometimes deleting the .twrps file from /sdcard can also help fix a non booting recovery.
You could also try CWM recovery

have you try to flash twrp using fastboot instead of flashify? See post #4
