Use Galaxy Mini from USA in Germany

Hi
A friend of mine bought a galaxy mini in USA.
He didn't think about the phone language...
So now there is only available English and Portuguese...
How can I get this phone into German language?
Only by rooting and flashing the device?

first, is ur friend phone locked ? if yes then, u need to unlock it and then proceed to next step.
no u dont need to root, u just need to flash german region's firmware via odin. u will get that language.

The Phone is fully stock...

so simply download a greman firmware from sammobiles.com and flash via odin... and many tutorials r there on how to flash the firmware. also there is no need to unlock the bootloader like in htc or sony... samsung devices already have unlocked bootloader.
so===
flash german firmware via odin
install CWM via odin or recovery method
and install any custom rom from this community

I just want to get that phone into German language. No need for custom ROM.

Error message after reboot
So, now i flashed by this Tutorial
These ROMs i tried:
S5570XWKS7_S5570OXXKS2_S5570XWKS2_HOME.tar.md5
S5570XWKS7_S5570XWKS2_S5570DBTKS1_HOME.tar.md5
I get this error message after flashing and restarting the phone:

Is it important to say that under the phone info in stock mode the entry was "GT-S5570L"?
The L is probably my problem!?

nah the L just is the depiction its from that country, like gts-5570B...where B stands for brazil.
so u can try any package..
download tar files from here... u can blindly trust this site
http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/
search for the phone using its model, and download the latest 2.3.6 of any region, but i recommend u to try the baseband of ur region.

I have already tried the firmware from sammobiles.com

its 2.3.5
2.3.6 isnt available there.
I get the error message i mentioned before eben by flashing this ROM.
But do i need Kies for anything else then for drivers?
I dont have Kies installed on my PC...
I read that Kies is only needed if the mobile isnt recognised in Odin!?

oops ! u did the mistake here... u need to install kies so that drivers are available for odin to detect device and then flash..

But the phone was deteced by odin correctly and it was flashed with the "PASS" Text.
Well im downloading Kies and trie to flash again the ROM
S5570XWKS7_S5570DBTKS1_DBT

so u can take it out.. and boot into recovery, wipe cache and data. boot into android

You don't have to root if flashing a new stock rom. Just head over to samfirmware.com and choose your device type and area(Germany) and you'll get your Odin flashable package right away

im stuck at the upgrade screen.
I have the p880g wind version
I got the phone brand new. after rooting it i tried to flash TWRP . it made my phone boot to the WIND logo and freeze.
I Then tried to use kdz to bring my phone back to stock. v10c
which screwed me up even more because now no matter what I do I get stuck on the upgrade screen
lg update tool recognizes my phone for a bit but then tells me theres a connection problem between phone and PC.
i even tried to flash another country firmware kdz file.
are there any specifics i should know about with the kdz?
how can i get lg update tool to update my device?
whats the best way to get back to STOCK?

I'm sorry to blunt - but are you really stupid, or do you just like wasting money? Did you not bother to read any of the countless threads in which software upgrades for the P880G are discussed and it is said that it is different hardware to the standard (International) P880? Did you think that you might just get lucky and be able to flash our software on your phone?
I'm sorry mate, but unless you can source the .kdz firmware for your model of phone you are probably going to be left with a very pretty, expensive paper-weight on your hands.

Just install PC SUITE and recover from the options. Right now I'm not near the computer soo, can't give you the "step by step". LG TOOL will be installed.

sorry i mean that the phone is not syncing properly with LG PC Suite , just like it didn't with the update Tool.

hi. i woould like to downgrade from v20a to v10h and the lgflashtool doesn't work.some times stuck on ready and some others on 10%i have tried almost everything from installing the drivers once more until change pc and ports.is there any option to downgrade with another way?

it does nothing.it stays on ready and thats all.now l m formating my pc but i ve allready try that on 2 computers and all had the same end

When it shows "ready" reconnect phone ,, the tool should begin work .

it doesnt begin.

GT-I9305 won't boot

hi guys hopeone some will help me on this,
my GT-I9305 won't boot get stuck at Samsung Logo.
i tried to load new FW with Kies somehow it took hrs extracting the FW.
can someone please direct me to the right direction to upload a new FW to the GT-I9305 ?
i can't get the Phone unto recovery mode, just to flash mode

assuming FW = firmware and hrs = hours
go to http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/ and get the latest firmware for you phone....and flash via Odin as PDA.....
after you successfully flashed it enter stock recovery and do a factory reset and wipe cache....and it will boot up after 3-4 mins nicely....

tried to flash the firmware with ODIN 3 V 1.85 it didnt workds.
steps i took,
booted the Phone into the flash mode with POWER+HOME+VOLUM DOWN
and tried to send the I9305ZHUCNB1_I9305TGYCNB1_I9305ZHUCNB1_HOME.tar.md5 with ODIN 3.
after it shows Failed

with odin v3.09 and with firmware form they're website? flashed as AP? an failed?
did this 3 times now with my phone...not even once said FAIL....
maybe you are doing something wrong....maybe a bad usb cable...

in what county do you live? and what is the name of your mobile carrier....

yer sir you can... i currently do it...got firmware from another carrier that the one i got subscription

after flash it, you might get a bootloop. if so enter recovery and wipe data/factory reset and wipe partition cache...

PS i've rebooted the Phone 3 times but the same FAIL comes back.

it looks like it tries to write to a partition that has some problems....
try to repartition your phone using a PIT file : http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...fo-i9305-pit-file-flash-analysis-pit-t1950591
but i haven't tested this and i don't know if it works.... knox counter is at 0x0? if yes send it back to warranty...if not try flashing it with that PIT...it will remake your partitions....if that doesn't work i suggest going to a specialized service and let them have a look...they will tell you once they will found the problem if it is worth repairing it....cause we ran out of ideeas...

I solved it bro . U have to use the exact rom as it's on your phone exacly same latest update and region code

well I did a factory reset yesterday on the phone I belive when I checked it said 6.0.1 I'm on tmobile sm-n920t current binary Samsung official everything ive tried to flash just fails my phone started acting up going slow on apps then it just reseted by itself and tried to boot up but it stays on the powered by android screen with check fail

so the sime way to fix this is to :
1. get the stock firmware
2. remove the ".md5" from the file name and leave ".tar" (example-J200MUBU1AOK2_J200MZTA1AOK2_J200MUBU1AOK2_HOME_v2.tar.md5 to J200MUBU1AOK2_J200MZTA1AOK2_J200MUBU1AOK2_HOME_v2.tar.
3. now the file can be extracted with 7z or winrar .
4- after extraction is done take the recovery.img and achieve it with the .tar format
should look like this ("recovery.tar")
5 use Odin to flash file to device
-first connect device with device in download mode
-click on "AP" and select "recovery.tar"
6-Start !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Old firmwares or wrong firmwares causing this problem get the latest firmwares from sammobile and you will be good to go......
