Bricked my lg optimus 2x

Hello, i bricked my lg optimus 2x by somehow, and i've read some on the forums and it keeps popping up that NVflash is the way to go. But the problem is nothing happens when i do it No reboot etc... It do react and say: S/W upgrade...
Also when i try to boot phone nothing happens, it is all black and no reponse... So what should i do ? I got no NAndroid backup etc
I haven't tried nvFlash, but Smartflash sure worked for me. (Verified it 10 hours ago as I just soft-bricked my O2X as well. )

The vol up + down method is used for NVflashing.
I used Smartflash so I didn't need to do that.
@random: Aside for checking for LG USB drivers, make sure that you have the battery pulled out, and you are plugging the phone to the PC with the volume down pressed.
smartflash
but it doesnt react to the volume down : P since what i've understand is that it should pop up a the LG bootup thingy
And it doesnt.... The only thing the phone reacts to is when i try to NVflash... but the nvflash seems to fail all the time by some reason :S in the middle of everything
take out your battery, plugin usb + hold volume down.
then smartflash all the way !
Wonder
i wonder how i smartflash then....
/watch?v=uCHRwKGTZTk] i followed that one, but he's phone react with a LG logo when he puts cable in and press vol down... Mine doesn't : (
Try using the USB ports at the back of your CPU (those that are from the MoBo itself). Are you using WinXP by the way?
Tried...
Yes, i have tried the other usb ports at the back and no im not on xp... Im on Vista

Since you got to the S/W upgrade screen on NVflash, your phone can't be totally dead. Try another PC or redownload the flash file, it could be corrupted.

Search for smartflash and NVflash, smartflash should probably do the trick in this case, but in a few cases u need to use NVflash.
But try smartflash first.

[Q] [HELP] [SOLVED & HOW TO] Xperia X8 Seriously "Bricked"

EDIT: SOLVED THANKS TO damir87
Ok guys, after a lot of research and messing up I ended up needing to ask for help.
I started trying to install cyanogen mod 9 (Android 4.0.3) where everything was going fine, but when I flashed the kernel with the "Custom Gingerbread kernel nAa-11" and installed the cyanogen 9 ROM with xRecovery, but when I started the phone (And it's still like this ATM) after the Sony Ericson logo, it appears the XPERIA logo with the lighting animation, it does the animation about 3 - 4 times and freezes after that and stays there, sometimes it does the animation 3 times, disappears and appears the logo again and then freezes.
I realized this happened because I didn't unlock bootloader. I can actually check the bootloader and I get the message that says it's locked but you can unlock it but to unlock it I have to have it turned on with USB debugging on.
Also, sometimes when I try to flash it again, after connecting it and the green light turning on it says I have plugged the device in flash mode, then it says I unplugged it and tells me that an error occurred, then the phone boots up by it-self.
BTW I'm a bit newbie in the section of "flashing" and the kernel and the baseband stuff, I'm not sure if with flashing, you flash the kernel, the baseband, or the ROM it-self, or even if you can install a ROM with the flashtool with the phone on flashmode.
BTW I can't access xRecovery.
- SEUS Says my phone is already up to date and all I can do is click finish.
- PCC Says there's not software available for my phone.
WHAT WOULD BE PERFECT TO FIX THIS:
A way to change the ROM to the android 2.1.1.C.0.0 without booting the phone(in flash mode).
HOW I SOLVED IT
-I simply downloaded this stock ROM (2.1.1.C.0.0): http://www.mediafire.com/?eca0sualnao4c4c
-Then just used flashtool V0.2.9.1 (I think it's important that you use that exact version): https://rapidshare.com/#!download|5...|62602|R~5490459C5764641D4665C046409A620A|0|0
(Sorry for rapid**** host, couldn't get any better)
After that it took the phone about 5~ mins to start up after the 2nd SE logo.
Again thanks to damir87!
I was newbie too , but reading threads helped , use SEUS Sony PC Companion to restore to stock.

Thanks for the reply, but Sony PC Companion needs the phone to be ON and on debug mode, actually I can't fully boot the phone and SEUS gets stuck on "checking connection to the phone" or something like that.
Also PCC says there's no available updates for the phone. <.<

Even the rooting while on flashmode? and instal xRecovery?

[Q] X8 Update 1.6 to 2.1 Boot-loop

I have read a couple of threads regarding 'boot-loop' but I was never successful in finding a similar problem like mine.
Whenever I update my X8 from 1.6 to 2.1, my device goes to boot-loop. It loads till I get to the main screen, then freezes, then reboots again. It goes on until the battery dies.
I used flashtool, PCC, SEUS, but to no avail, the same issue persists. Does anyone know any other way to update my phone, or fix this issue? Am I stuck to the stock ROM 1.6?

When I update using PC Companion (PCC) or Update Service (SEUS/US), the update successfully applies but when I turn on the phone, it loads a bit to the main screen, freezes, then goes to a boot-loop.
The same goes when I flash the stock ROM using flashtool, the same problem persists.

From your original post , I could gather that you tried fixing with PCC/SEUS/Flashtool. But did you try to update with both PCC and SEUS ?
Did you follow the instructions carefully when updating , like when and how long to hold the back button of your X8 while updating. When to connect you X8 to the computer etc

Repairing and updating with PCC/SUES is basically the same thing. It just skips the part where the phone has to be on and mounted.
And if he didn't didn't hold the button long enough or something the process wouldn't even start.
I think the X8 is just dodgy and the best bet would be to take it to a service center.
Sent from my E15i using xda premium
Maybe Wotan would work but that costs money AFAIK.
This is actually quite a peculiar situation. I'm not sure if anybody has ever come across this before.
Its strange because FlashTool works literally 100% of the time.
Your best bet ATM would be to visit a service center or Contact Sony Online.
Best of luck

Yes sir, this is one peculiar X8. I don't know if it's a software problem.
Anyways, thanks a bunch to all those who helped! Much appreciated.

Hey I will tell you what to do.
First of all install Sony Ericsson Update Service or SEUS. Just Google it and you can find it easily!
Now connect your phone to your computer via USB cable.
Start SEUS.
Then follow the on-screen instructions.(You will be asked to select your phone model, update or repair your phone etc)But its easy!!!!!
Then leave the rest to SEUS.
It will first repair your phone, then download the stock rom and kernel and also the baseband and will automatically install them.
After that you will have your X8 on stock rom,it will be updated to the latest baseband and kernel.
Hope it works for you.

For my case, it will bootup with 1.6 stock rom, the baseband will be stated unknown, but it still can call and receive SMS...
Any rom that is above 2.1 won't be able to boot, that include stock 2.1 and any custom rom...
It only can be repaired by SE i think (or maybe JTAG )...
So in the end i gave up the phone and sold it at a cheap price to a friend and he took it to SE for repair, the phone comes back with stock 2.1 ROM
but the camera and vol button are not working, most probably damaged by the repair guy in SE...
Btw, any one knows what causes the baseband to gone like that?

it happens to me also.but the only solution that i got to fix is reflashing a X8_E15i_2.1.1.A.0.6_Baseband_015.ftf. i fix my bootloop

Sony Xperia Z - failed update - dead phone - HELP !

I tried to update my Sony Xperia Z through Pc Companion to android kitkat... All was good until the program poped up a window and said that it couldn't download it anymore because of a network problem ( my internet connection was good, no problems ). And from that point on, when i try to open the phone it says " the software update failed, make sure the phone is connected to the computer and try again " and blacks out... also i think the battery is dead and i cannot charge it because it says only that and turns off...
Please help me... I don't know what to do anymore...
i tried with sony update service, it downloads the update and when it's about to install. says to make sure the battery is fully charged and try again... and i cannot do that... What to do ????
If it matters, it's a C6603 ...
sorry for my english..

It doesn't work!
When i plug it in the wall charger is doing a restart loop, with the sony logo, then the message a wrote earlier " the software update failed, make sure the phone is connected to the computer and try again " and a red led light, and it's the same thing over and over again...
That's my concern...if i damaged the phone...i mean, if i can't recharge it, i can't do nothing...
There must be some way to fix this..please help...

I had the same problem as OP and resolved it using SEUS - can confirm that it works.
Download SUS (formerly SEUS) from here: http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/tools/update-service/

I did said that i tried olso the update service from sony, and when it finishes the download and begins to install the update, after 15 to 20 seconds or so, pops up a message and says to make sure the battery is fully charged and try again.

Firstly i want to note that my battery is certainly dead, and i can't charged it beacause of the restart/boot loop that i mentioned in my early posts...if yes, can you guys provide me with necesary tools, firmaware and stuff, because after all the attempts i tried, i'm afraid to do something else to the phone. I mean i was stupid in the first place to not ask how to do it properly, and i don't want to lose the phone...
And sorry if my English is rough

Bricked!! -.-
Hey guys, I don't know if this is out of topic but since this is for xperia z bricked, I'll show my problem.
So, I updated my xperia z for 3 times since I bought it, It came with Android 4.2.2 and the updates were all OTA.
Then, sudently It started to reboot itself and entering in bootloop.. Then, I tried to use flashtool but always gave me error about S1 flash, and then "Error: Flash Aborted"
So I tried to unlock my bootloader several times (Yes, several times, because it was always saying ok, but then it was showing "ROOTABLE") then, when I Finally got it unlocked, I couldn't flash anything because it was gaving me error saying that couldn't write boot.. Then, Tried Pc companion but again, failed, and my phone was stuck in "Update failed (...)"
Then finally, I flashed advanced kernel by DoomLord and entered in CWM, but when I tried to wipe factory reset, It was saying that couldn't mount data.. Then, I have formated the Data and Media (SD Card) And then, I was able to do factory reset, but, then, I went to advance and did reboot recovery.. My phone turned off, but never came on... I arrived at home and connect ti to wall charger, but no sign of life, nothing, not even red led or anytihng.. NOTHING!! Don't know what happened.. I really need help on this man, please :c
