Boot Failure, Battery low help. - Motorola Atrix HD

Rooted my atrix hd, flashed safestrap, wiped, flashed cm10 and got a bootloop.
Now My battery is low, Cant get anything besides a Motorola logo and "device is locked, status code 0"
"battery low", "boot failure".
Anyway, I have tried booting into recovery with holding down power and volume up/down, no luck.
Anything I can do?
I have rsd ready with a stock sbf ready to flash. I need a working phone!
thank you very much.

And yes I have searched for answers on the net and this forum, among others. the phone won't charge. ugh

Had the same thing happen to me luckily I have insurance. Basically you need someone else with an atrix HD or to get a factory cable.

Well, my friend had same prob as u (stuck & battery low with installed safestrap in phone) and here is what i did to help her:
1. Open bootmenu (power+volume up+volume down)
2. Select BP Tools (the last choice) and it will boot the safestrap directly. I saw that in safes trap, phone could be charged normally and I let it be there until baterry was about 25% and flashed.

Open from the boot menu at what point? from powered off? Cause my phone wont turn on unless I plug it into the wall and the it goes right to
the fastboot screen.

any help would be great! I want to try everything before I send it off to motorola.

Like I said factory cable or a battery from another atrix HD fully charged.

Thanks, I ordered a factory cable adapter. Should fix my issues now and any in the future.

Hold both volume down and up. I did several times and it worked, of course sometimes it went to fastboot directly, hold power button to turn off and try again.

Seriously Bricked Droid 3? Help!!

Hey guys, sorry for the cliche first post, but believe me I have been searching and reading all night and day for a problem similar to mine.
I was running CM9 on my Droid 3 and was having trouble because my phone kept running in safe mode, which was causing some of my apps to not work, and when I turned safe mode off, it ran the stock droid OS, which I didn't want. Therefore, I manually turned my safestrap off (first mistake) so now I can't get into it. Alternatively, my volume down button doesn't seem to be working so I can't select AP Fastboot to flash my phone back to factory settings and eliminate all my woes. When I try to power my phone on manually, all it does is load me into the BP Flash screen, which to my understanding doesn't work (why did they put it in?). I've tried to press the down direction key and power to shortcut into AP Fastboot, as well as power button volume down, neither of which work. I can get into the screen with Normal boot, recovery, etc but cannot select anything, and it just goes to normal boot and proceeds to bootloop. Is there anything I can do in this predicament? Any help is much appreciated.
If you can, try using the keyboard arrow keys to navigate the boot menu.. I've never tried it before but its worth a shot.

[Q] Bricked After JB OTA Update and FXZ to .246

I installed the JB OTA updated and lost root, couldn't get it back for anything. I proceeded to FXZ back to .246 and somehow bricked my Bionic. I;m using RSD Lite 5.7 and the VRZ_XT875_6.7.246.XT875.Verizon.en.US_CFC_01.xml.zip FXZ file. I get to step 6/21 and it fails every time. it says "Failed flashing process. 6/21 flash cdt.bin "cdt.bin" -> Phone Returned FAIL.
Am I permanently bricked? Any Ideas? Thanks guys.

Identical to a thread I already have going Sadly no one seems to have a solution yet. I'm hoping that if we get a FXZ file for JB that we can unbrick - but I have no clue where such files come from our how they're created - so looks like a waiting game.

Power the unit off. Then hold VOL UP and VOL DOWN at the same time and then hold the power button for a second or two. You should get a menu. I believe the first value is normal boot. Press VOL UP when "normal boot" is highlighted (or press vol down until its highlighted then press vol up). Your phone should then boot into JB unfortunately you'll still be without root but you'll be back in the game with a phone that you can at least use.

if fastboot writing "fastboot flash failure" then you need to recowery fastboot. I'm using script for changing boot animation he will correct this stuff.
Try this. put your sd card in a friends phone and upload the JB system update zip file to your sd card then put it back into your phone. Can you press and hold both volume keys THEN press power while holding the up down volume keys. instead of normal boot go down to recovery and press volume up to select it. Moto logo will apear then blank screen the the red triangle android. once that is on the screen hold both up down volume buttons again. at this time a menu should pop up and you can scroll down to system update from zip and load the JB zip file from your sd card. This is how I loaded JB on my phone. Hope things work out for you.

What do you mean? I can't FXZ anything right now, I've tried all end in failure. I think its because of the new security level of the JB update. I think I'll have to wait for a JB FXZ. Haven't seen one yet.

You might be screwed. I know in the past that you would brick your device if you tried going backwards from ICS to gingerbread. I assumed the same would apply in this situation as well. If you have insurance, you may want to drop your phone in the toilet.

[Q] ASAP HELP stuck in "warning unlocked bootloader"

I originally had CM 10.1.3 on my Atrix hd but i wanted to try the unnofficial pacman rom, so i went into CWM recovery, made a backup, factory reset, wiped /system, cache, blah blach but when installing pacman rom i got status 7 so i didnt feel like using a zipping program to fix it, then i went to reboot recovery and bam, stuck on the unlocked bootloader screen, i tried ALL fastboot options, none will get past this unlocked bootloader screen and the phone tuns on all by itself and there's no way to pull the damn battery, please don't tell me my phone i screwed. What do i do?
IM literally on the brink of crying
Chill. You probably just had a bad download of the zip. Do you have a backup from a previous ROM?
Sent from my MB886 using Tapatalk 4
Why did you reboot recovery? Unplug your phone, press the power button to turn it off, then hold both power buttons and press the power button until a list comes up, go into recovery, wipe user data/system and restore your backup. We have an official PAC ROM now, use that.

It seems like when you hold down power to shut off your phone, it won't stay off, correct? This means you need to quickly press the button combo (Power + Both Vol Buttons) as soon as it shuts off, it should come up with a list of black and white options. If you don't have a Nandroid recovery, then you will use Vol Down to highlight the AP Fastboot option and Vol Up to select it, if you do, then select the Recovery option and proceed restoring from there. When in fastboot mode, use RSD Lite to flash back to a stock firmware. Your phone is far from bricked. If you keep rebooting to Bootloader Unlocked screen no matter what option you choose, you may have to look into buying or making a Fastboot Cable. This will force your device into Fastboot mode so you can flash a stock ROM, I doubt this will be necessary though. If your phone can turn on, it isn't hard bricked. You're in the clear, don't worry.
RSD Lite Guide and Download: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2231249
Download link to stock firmware: http://sbfdownload.droid-developers...MB886_NII_TA-2-16-release-keys-NII-MX.xml.zip
Don't forget to replace your XML file with the one here: https://www.box.com/s/num1eshkf0c2or2h4160
Just go into your firmware zip, delete the old .xml, and drag in the new one. Start the RSD flash, sit back, relax, make sure (if you are using one) that your laptop is either connected to power or has sufficient battery life, and that you don't unplug your cable during flash.

I tried that and it just goes straight to the unlocked bootloader screen, so how to i make a fastboot cable?
You can look up a guide on Google. It requires a bit of rewiring/soldering of your Motorola cable though. If you aren't comfortable with that stuff, you can buy one for Atrix HD for like $5-$10

Great! The fastboot cable should force it into fastboot, just plug it into your PC during the time your phone is off. You may have to let it charge for a bit. From there its only a matter of flashing stock ROM.
It may be called Motorola Factory Cable or Motorola Fastboot Cable, either one. Just make sure you get a Motorola Atrix HD one lol

[Q] Atrix HD softbrick

I'm new to the forums and new to all this, Problem is, I rooted and unlocked bootloader on Atrix HD. Set up SafeStrap as recovery. Everything checked and working. After letting SafeStrap install Cyan 10.3 and rebooting, phone entered CyanogenMod boot screen and become stuck. I didn't reset and wipe all stock settings and cache (yes, I know that should have been an obvious step and I'm paying for it now). Figured I could just go into SafeStrap and make the quick fix.
Seems that I'm unable to enter my custom recovery, instead I'm lead to the familiar bricked android stock recovery. No options to access stock rom or fastboot menu. Tried installing a different recovery, but fastboot on PC is unable to find device. Got the factory cable and still no fastboot.
I see in the forums that if you can power the phone up up can fix it but I seem to have the one phone that wont go into fastboot or recovery.
Can anyone help? I seem to have tried it all, am I beating a dead horse??
Literally the exact same thing. Almost word for word..

Well if you read beforehand as I said in the other thread.. Safestrap is NOT for a unlocked bootloader. And are you using an actual factory cable or the cable that came with the phone (oem) there's a distinct difference.

Can you get to the screen that shows you white options on black background? Turn the device off, then hold both volume buttons and press the power button a few times. Once you're at this screen, go down to "AP Fastboot" with volume down, and select it with volume up. Then use Myth or RSD or manually fastboot back to stock.
Maybe the safestrap thread op should put a big sign or warning telling users about not using safestrap no more.. I see noobs are the one flashing still safestrap when that is useless now. People like that search on google will find that thread and will start from there as they dont know and that was actually an old method to go around on atrix hd.

No, when I tried that the dead android came up, and i cant get any menu to show. It powers up and the shows the unlocked bootloader screen then to the CyanogenMod where it gets stuck and wont cut off until the battery is dead or i hard restart it.

Well some people can't unlock for various reasons that's why it says for locked bootloader in the title now. But they have to realize the rom selection is minimal.
To the op are you sure your holding both volume buttons down on restart? Not letting go of one? Because if you can power it on and off I see no reason you can't get to the boot menu.

Don't want to go into the details, but if I wanted to I could run two 4.3 roms with SSR. All you really need is two roms that run the same kernel.
Yes I understand that part skeevy as I did asked myself few times about if that was possible and i find out that it was by the same parameters you mentioned. But what I mean is at the stage we are I will see safestrap as not supported anymore is useless for us since we can unlock the bootloader.

You can't flash custom roms with rsd man. You need an unlocked bootloader and to use a custom recovery to flash. You'll have to flash the stock firmware with rsd and start over.

Once the bootloader is unlocked, it can't be re-locked which is good.
Were you trying to install a custom or stock rom using RSD? What rom were you running?

What eventually worked for me was holding the power button down until the phone vibrates, then quickly holding the power button and both volume keys until the fast boot option came up. It took 45 tries before I got it. From there I was able to boot into my ClockworkMod recovery and flash my new ROM. ProBam Kit Kat. I hope this helps

I hold the power button down about 2 minutes but no reaction no vibrate need more time?
If it doesn't vibrate afer ~10 seconds release the button and try again. It can take several tries. As stated above, as soon as it vibrates let go and immediately press both volume buttons and the power button; this will get you into fastboot where you can choose to boot into recovery.

no reaction no vibrate only blink when connect to PC and rsd light shows that phone is connected but not flashing failed please switch to fastboot mode now i order factory fastboot cable what do you think may it help in this situation?
What your battery level at the last time you saw it? My difficulties were partly caused by low batt (I believe it doesn't charge in fastboot or recovery) I've had to pull batteries and manually wire them to a charger before.

It was about 53% and it was in fastboot mod so it wasn't charging I try to flash it to start phone in normal mode to charge but when it was flashing in 1/23 files it failed and because battery low and then it is like now no reaction only when connect to PC blink green on phone and connected :X
A factory fastboot cable would probably help you in this situation. You can look on youtube on how to make one or you can buy one for about 5 bucks on eBay. It will both power your phone and force fastboot mode when plugged into the computer
