yes...major league baseball...since this is the off topic forum, and spring exhibition games are just days away!
I invite all baseball fans to talk about their teams, likes, dislikes, views on specific players
..as everyon can see from my avatar, I am an AVID yankee fan, and am fairly confident 2009 = 27
even if we 'bought' our team, its the yankees being the yankees, hate it or love it (i love it)
and NO I am not a fan because of there extensive pay roll or all-star lineup

You are hereby expelled from Red Sox Nation and have 30 days to move out of R I .
Even with your " bought team ", I will make some predictions. Burnett will turn into the Burnett the Jays wasted millions on. Sabathia will wilt under the pressure and media glare of New York ( ala Randy Johnson ), Hal and Hank are just idiots and will never measure up to Dad, No matter how much money they spend.
Joba will never live up to the hype, too much too soon. Alex will be dogged and distracted all year by steroids and Madonna. We will see how Teixeira plays now that he is a rich man, set for life and really has everything to prove, but nothing to play for anymore. Posada is done, Matsui is done. Damon is done.
And Girardi won't be able to keep the circus together, like Torre did.
Watching the RED SOX in the World Series will be tough for N.Y. but hey they must be getting used to it by now. Go Sox

nothing can be said on burnette and sabathia, except that ..YOUR WRONG haha...we will have to wait until the season begins, however, Burnette will be getting better run support which will lead to more wins, giving him better confidence, and check his stats, last year, 35 games 231SO 86BB, not so shabby, that 18w 10L will translate to 21-9, and sabathia, im going to say 23w - 7L
damon, done. this is true, cabrera will step up his season, if he doesnt then he goes bye bye, and he wants to stay in NY.
Matsui is still a quality hitter, if we already have a DH he will be a valuable trade option, perhaps up the bullpen. Joba has pretty much already proven himself. Phil Hughes, should take his job as set up man, unless there is a injury to the starting rotation. and Giradi has already done a hell of a job last season with the mess he was brought into

iPad vs. Netbook

I’ve been an avid PC lover for years, and have only recently started to doubt my loyalty to the PC with the introduction of the iPad. I currently own a netbook to compliment my desktop computer its uses are vast and when it comes to working the fact that is has a proper keyboard makes it an incredible tool. I’ve had a chance to play around with Apples iPad and have now come to a crossroads.
I’m increasingly experienceing a pressure to like the iPad nowadays, especially since everyone’s got or wants one. I do have to admnit that the iPad is pretty cool with all of its apps, and more importantly for me, games. I didn’t mention before but I also own and iPod touch and it is one of the coolest things I’ve ever owned. Not too much until an iPad the touch screen and ability to run a plethora of games and apps is what made it such an enticing piece of tech for me. I’m slowly breaking down and falling for Apple products and I’m even thinking of buying an iPad. If this were Star Wars I’d be Luke Skywalker, Steve Jobs would be the Emperor and the iPad would be Darth Vader trying to convince me to take his hand and join the dark side of the force like in The Empire Strikes Back…

OK, I know we rip on iOS and Apple/Mac all the time but, I think it's appropriate we pay our respects to the man.

I actually have huge respect for Apple products, and especially Steve Jobs. The unified ecosystem from Mac to iPhone to iPad is amazing. As a fan of unix, I actually own a MBP and iMac. I also own an iPad2, and the wife has a couple iPod classics (she has a lot of music).
I am not a huge fan of the iPhone, screen size, iOS doesn't do it for me, etc. But it is one of the best phones ever made, and is perfect for many people.
As for Steve Jobs, guy was one of the most influential people of the last 30 years. He revolutionized the PC market, and had he not been ousted at Apple, the PC market likely would be more like 80% Mac and 20% Windows, if that for Windows. Guy was a genius, especially when it came down to leading a team and coming up with a single product that could solve a problem none of us knew we had, but was very real.

I was never personally a huge fan of Apple products (bad luck with iPhone and iPod video). It is pretty obvious that the man had a huge impact on personal computers as well as the current state of smart phones in the world.

Well really when you look at the big picture, Steve Jobs is the reason smart phones came into being and blew up into what they are today. He started the tablet revolution which A LOT of other companies have been trying to do for over a decade. Some people acted like he was this evil figure head of some horrible company but, the man was an innovator and was there with Bill Gates way back in the beginning. He had a very large part in everything that we do as far as computers and communications go. So, tonight I drink a beer to Steve Jobs.

Without Steve, I probably wouldn't be holding my android right now. He pushed technology forward. He created a device that most of us use everyday! And he WAS one of the best CEO's ever.

A mini analogy of wrestling now and then

You should all look at this AJ Lee's "Bombshell" here and if you had been a fan of wrestling you should know that her's and CM Punk similarities are not just that they are in real-life couple.
They made a point where Wrestling isn't what it is used to be and I have to agree with that in terms that WWE since 2000's had been getting away from physical action, to stars that can sell a story on which Vince McMahon calls it Sport Entertainment, but since a few years ago, the tast has become that instead of a wrestling promotion, it has been converted to a circus.
Really unfortunate and this is coming from a guy that since early childhood had seend the hardcore side of the Bushwalkers know in that gimmick as the New Zealand Shepherds for taking a example.
I guess that to stand my point, look to all 80 to mid 90's video library and not just from WWE, look at least WCW, ECW and a few NWA's and you should see my point.
