[Q] Need help, answering a call (problem) - Xperia Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, I'm new here and just got my XZ yesterday. The phone works great until I decided to root it and right now I'm facing a problem when someone called and I slide to answer the call the sound didn't come out of the earpiece but it came out of the speaker phone instead. I try to push the speaker phone button but nothing happened. The sound still came out of the speaker phone and won't return to the earpiece.
Can anyone familiar with this problem or can help suggesting me the way to solve this promblem ?
Thanks in advance......newbie.:cyclops:

[q] downloading do not turn off target

HELP HELP HELP -- I recently plugged my phone into my com to transfer music. samsung kies then started up and told me i needed a firmware upgrade. I proceeded to upgrade and mid upgrade i received an on screen message that my device wasn't recognised and the upgrade was auto cancelled. I now have a message with bright yellow/green trianle that says "do not turn off target". I have reinstalled kies - no luck. knocked phone on and off -no luck. i'm at a loss with what to do with the phone now !! phone not even being recognised by com or kies. Can anyone help please??? many many thanks in advance... thanks. ian.
Seems that you're new to that, so let me explain: if you see the yellow triangle with the android, you're in download mode. Normally, you access it by pressing power+home+vol down buttons while screen is off. As long as you can access download mode, your device isn't bricked. Now that you can't access anything else than download mode, you have to flash a new firmware with Odin. I recommend you to search for the JW4 firmware here in general section. There you should find help on how to flash it(best is Faryaab's thread).
maybe you can try and do a hard reset and flash a ROM from yr SD card..reboot in recoverymode..if the phone does not reboot..try and run the rooting program, might work. But most likely you'll have to reinstall the firmware...

Yep, I don't think that he has rooted, so flashing a ROM won't work.
hmmm....i get it..best thing to do i think, when it's up and running again..DoOMlords easy rooting kit worked fine for me.No problem getting it to work and you've got more options to fix any problem..good luck to the poster anyway xx

I don't really think that he rooted his phone ever before, so I don't think that he needs root now... but if he wants to try it out, CF-root or DoOMlords rooting kit are the right choises.

My friend has exact the same problem with ZTE Skate. Just do a factory reset or if you are not up to date, try to update via Kies (or other way).

I wouldn't root the phone if you don't need it. Simply download a stock .ftf file and flash it via flashtool, this will NOT void your warranty
I too got this problem suddenly, did resetting the phone, flashed using flashtool & repaired using Sony PCC but to no avail.
Is it a hardware problem ?
Help me guys.

I unlocked the bootloader. No success. Installed Kitkat. No success. Just now sent it to service centre after restoring back to 4.3 & locking the bootloader
Sent from my GT-I9500 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
This happened to me.
I flashed stock and everything was good, I decided to lock the bootloader as I wanted OTA updates. After I locked the bootloader I noticed my Wi-Fi wouldn't turn on. After half an hour of searching and replying to posts I was told to re-flash the whole stock FTF and wipe everything and it worked!

didntask you to unlock tho,
was check what might cause it.
if it is caused by unlocking bootloader, most likely TA backup will solve the problem?

For 2 days I flashed at least 5-6 ftf & 1 kitkat firmware; still my wifi & bluetooth refused to switch on. I think my phone's problem probably is hardware. It's presently in service centre. Awaiting a call from them.

Running into the same problem here. Did Sony ever provide a more elegant solution rather than wipe everything and install again?

To be more precise, your Motherboard in your phone has died and only HTC can fix it. Sorry but it's true
