Hello
I am confused about specs for Chinese HTC One Sim1.
I'm with AT&T in the US, I don't need LTE, can I use both sim slot for AT&T sims in the US?
Thanks.

Probably? If they're tied to different lines, then most likely yes, as long as the bands match up.
yes you can, only Sim 1 works with LTE(no LTE for you) and WCDMA(which you can use)
but the better question is Where did you buy it and how much

In the olden days that question would be cut-and-dry based on the radio types in the phone, but now I'm not so sure (last I knew Sprints network was CDMA). So could I buy the Sprint HTC One and then put my AT&T SIM card in it and run it on AT&T?

Nope. Networks are different, at some point you might be able to get LTE working but even that won't work out of the box.

yes it does.
The Sprint HTC One does have a sim slot just as the AT&T model and international model.

LTE is a GSM technology so every cdma phone with LTE has a SIM card for that purpose.
Do some research before you tell someone the wrong thing

The Sprint HTC One has a GSM radio but Sprint has to unlock it and it will not work with US networks. It will only work internationally. So no, you can't use an AT&T SIM card in the Sprint One.
The Sprint HTC One sim card slot is located directly across from the volume rocker. The volume is on the right and sim slot is on the left. Use a sim tool or a paperclip and push the little hole and the tray is right there in front of you.
Since LTE is used for data only on at&t, even if you were able to unlock the sprint phone, you'd have no voice. Also there's the matter of at&t LTE frequencies vs sprint.
i have htc one from sprint in red and sim is close by pwr button around corner, try different sim and it not ask for pin or code it just say simlock enabled if slide down menu. how to make it work with gsm sim?
.....
ok after reading this forum get it work wit gsm network and local sim , in short I did unlock bootloader , root, unlock sim
i've "unlocked" my phone using a tutorial on this website, but i'm getting a simlock on my notifications when i put my att sim card in. heres some info to hopefully clear up any questions. i have had att for years thats how i have an att sim. the reason i have a sprint one is becuase i worked at sprint for a short time and received a dealer line and phone. all new htc one. so how can i use this on my att plan thank you

Just to clarify, what do you mean by you "unlocked" it. How did you do this? I'm pretty sure the only way to unlock our Ones is by going through sprint. Also if you do use it on ATT you won't get LTE because they have different LTE bands than sprint.

i unlocked it through a sprint all in one kit, maybe this was just for rooting it, but anyway I was justtrying to figure out if there was a wat to get my htc one on att, I'm not worried about the lte.

Ok, if you used the All In One toolkit then yes you are just rooted. To get your phone unlocked you will have to directly contact sprint!
Note also that in the US, depending on the location, AT&T operates on some combination of two 3G bands and two 4G bands. Of these four hi-speed data bands, the Sprint HTC One variant only supports one band. Therefore, even if you get the phone unlocked and working on AT&T, its data performance may not be all that great.
Hi, I want to buy Motox US operator version to use in GSM abroad US. All versions have GSM. But which versions have sim lock or can be unlocked, and how?

The only methods to unlock right now are through the carrier (by calling and requesting an unlock code) or by purchasing one online. There's already a few threads about this.

Is Verizon or T-mobile version sim-free. Which versions can be unlocked throught purchasing online?
T Mobile is the SIM unlocked one. It's SIM unlocked from factory, no unlocked code need to be purchased.

What about Sprint version? Is it unlocked for overseas use?
Sprint from what I've read has an unlock program that you have to go through before them actually giving you the unlock code. So it's kind of pointless to get a Sprint version.

What about Verizon version? I read verizon does not lock their phone. Is the owner on verizon, they have a slot for a SIM card and SIMlock?

It's factory-unlocked out the gate. What you'll eventually have to consider is what frequencies you'll need for what areas. The only difference as far as the world is concerned is whether or not you need the 1700MHz band for HSDPA/HSPA or you need the 850MHz band for LTE. If you need the former, but not the latter: go for the TMO/SIM-unlocked version, if vice versa then the Verizon version is better (AT&T is the same as Verizon but it's locked).

I want only GSM 900/1800, the best SIM-free, or the ability to buy the code on ebey. Would do well to EVDO compatibility. If I understand you correctly then:
# 1 Verizon
# 2 T-mobile
# 3 ATT

pretty much yes, as long as you don't get Sprint or Verizon models (which are CDMA not GSM). if you want 4G / LTE you may need to check which bands are used, check this for different variants:

hi thanks i see the links you put and i see all have gsm so it will work right?
Portugal uses GSM 900/1800 bands. Make sure the model u buy supports it.
I currently on T-Mobile and have a dual SIM Samsung S8+. I am thinking for going to change my service to Google Fi as I travel overseas. Google Fi has a great price for Data Roaming which is charged the same as at home. The issue is that I need a dual SIM phone. I do not like to swap my SIM cards as I almost lost one while changing. Currently Google Fi list LG V35 as a Google Fi phone. I am wondering if anyone here is using LG V40 on Google Fi. I noticed on Gsmarena that LG V40 has a dual SIM version. I am thinking of getting one and use it on Google Fi.
BTW. I do know that my S8+ can work on Google Fi but it would not have the Google VPN and network switching functions on Google Fi.
Waiting for the same.... dual sim version of V40 was mentioned few times here and there but nothing official yet!
I believe every variant is a dual-sim variant. The T-Mobile variant I purchased is working just fine with T-Mobile in the primary slot and Sprint in the secondary.
Granted, I had to buy it outright and call in for an unlock after 40 days.
IMEI Question
The issue is that I am on T-Mobile and would like to switch to Google Fi. I sure would like to get an unlock version if all versions are Dual SIM. Having a combo SIM slot does not mean it is dual SIM. Does your T-Mobile version has 2 IMEIs? Are you using your T-Mobile version with T-Mobile and Sprint services or using Google Fi service?

So your T-mobile LG V40 support dual sims!?
That would be quite interesting!

I'd really love to see a screenshot. All signs point to the US version being single-sim.

Yeah my Sprint Variant is Single Sim, and that I'm aware of Sprint won't activate a T-Mobile phone let alone a GSM phone until they are officially one company...

Iphone XS in the States has only one SIM but due to a built-in eSIM, it could have 2 lines on that phone. Just wishful thinking that we could do the same on LG. I wonder if LG V40 would support eSIM?
i was reading somewere...there is active dual sim with dedicated memory card slot (triple slot 2 for sim & 1 for mmc)...is it true...???
root
Hi,
Do you think that the V40 dualsim version could be rooted?
From my knowledge the G family with dual sim option could not be rooted, V30 could be rooted
Any confirmation?
Thnaks for your help

The one that's just released in Europe has got exactly that, dual SIM + hybrid SD card slot. I'm confirming that because I had the V40 in my hand yesterday and the tray inside it is one of those dual SIM SD card hybrid ones.
It's so hard to find dual-sim info on this LG V40. Does the V405QA7 (US Unlocked) and/or V405TAB (T-Mobile) have dual-sim dual standby?
