this might help but your phone will always have relocked in recovery or did you backup your stock rom if so just flash that
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2224752

Thanks for the link
I am going to do the following
Wipe in recovery
Flash stock rom from that link
Flash recovery from that link
Relock bootloader with hasoon2000 toolkit
Is this correct?

I relocked bootloader and flashed a ruu, seemed to work

Re-unlock bootloader HTC Incredible S

I unlocked my inc s bootloader using htcdev method. I then installed 4ext recovery and then the a custom rom. I now want to revert back to stock rom and re-unlock the bootloader. Am thinking of doing this. Please correct me if I am wrong.
1. Restore stock rom from nandroid backup.
2. Use htcdev relock method to get back to unlocked state.
My question is will the custom recovery create any problems. If so how do I get back stock recovery?

Why do you need to re-lock? If you want to receive OTA update, you need to have stock recovery.

OK so going back to your original question, yes the custom recovery will cause you a problem with trying to receive the OTA update. It will let you download it, but will then tell you that you have a custom setup and won't let you install it.
i guess its more or less same case as mine
you can refer to my post before
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1670176
btw, I finally run the RUU... :silly:

EE won't Boot

Say CWM recovery was installed. Bootloader unlocked.
Phone won't boot
EE branded (UK)
Recovery works. What can he done to get it booting?
I can't see any EE branded RUU and the stock Euro one isn't restoring, I guess from the wrong CID
Flash a custom rom with ADB side load from recovery?
I guess there's no way to extract and manually flash stock ROM from RUU?
No Nandroid to revert to. Anyone have an EE nandroid they could share?

Are you stuck in a boot loop? tried clearing the cache in fastboot. You could try flashing it to a custom rom.
I'm on EE but I bought my phone from P4U,out of interest what bloatware came with yours ?

Got One from P4U on Orange and it came with no provider bloatware at all.

You should be able to sideload a rom via adb and flash it through recovery. The phones4u phones are unbranded.

Before rooting... A few questions

Hello everybody,
I am considering rooting my htc one, but I have a few questions about returning to stock and rooting before I do.
Edit: When I say I want to return to stock, I want to be able to receive and install ota updates from optus.
1. If I make a nandroid backup straight after I root the phone can this be used to return to stock if I reflash stock recovery or do I have to flash ruu?
2. Is there anything else I need to go back to stock if the above method does not work? Where can I find the optus ruu?
3. When rooting with the all in one toolkit, do I select att htc one or international htc one? I have a HTC One 801s that is locked to Optus in australia.
Thanks in advance, if I do root my htc one, I'll probably only be flashing roms if that matters. My phone is an australian HTC One 801s that is locked to Optus.
Anyone?

1: yes you can
2: to go completely stock, flash stock recovery (to receive OTA) and re-lock boot loader.
3: International (AT&T is US based)

How do I relock my bootloader?

Often you can get faster answers by searching.
Drop to fastboot on the phone and issue this command from your PC:
fastboot oem lock
You don't need to relock to install OTAs.
Sorry about that, I guess I was being a bit lazy. Thanks for all the help you guys gave me.

You could try the Guru reset for HG3. It also has the stock recovery . Read the guide on how to flash.

Thanks for your reply. if i follow the instructions and take it back to stock will this get my warranty back? furthermore the .zip file has a different build number to me atm, will using the stock file brick my phone or will i go completely back to normal using the guru tool?
Thank you
Yes it will take you back to complete stock. The Rom is a earlier version. Once back to complete stock, you can take the OTA updates to take you to your original stock.
Make sure that you follow the guide precisely. There are more people having trouble getting back to stock so be careful.

As said, no RUU. What do you have on your phone now? Rooted? Custom Rom? Custom Recovery? Locked/unlocked bootloader?

Rooted, Custom Rom (Insert Coin), TWRP , unlocked bootloader (used HTC dev to do that).
Download this 4.4.2 Wind TWRP Nandroid zip, and unzip.. Thanks to @themastersb https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B2GBz7X2uObaM1hfN1E3VU1XNzg&usp=sharing
There is no recovery that I know of, so you will have to look for one that hopefully works. Go through my restore to stock thread to how to restore with above nandroid

Will give it a try. Thanks.
Just one last question. After doing the above procedure I will be able to receive OTA updates? and the link you provided has Sense 5.5 or Sense 6 ?
I dont know the Sense version, but I will guess to be 5.5
You have to follow the process in my guide as well to be back on stock.. Also, try to S-OFF as is to maybe have better recovery options.
